Myself and my sisters found out after my father was finally property diagnosed. My father and Grandmother were told different disease's so we all even the boys were tested . All 4 girls tested CMT along with our kids who were at least one child in each family and I have one grandchild with CMT . By the way we aren't as crippled as the ones before us but my grandson is more like my father with leg braces and fingers stiff. CMT 1X .

I found out through a DNA test because my Neurologist couldn't figure out what was wrong, then she read my results wrong, eventually I ended up with a below the knee amputation.

My neuro diagnosed me with NCT(nerve conduction Test)studies... Wasn't hard for him...
