You don't have enough space for such a big island and moving the table forward is going to reduce your living space where you entertain.
The house wi look much smaller.
A better idea is to extend the living room with a nice cozy terrace with beautiful.plants.
An island is more for a 4 or more person family.
I dont know .Its not my taste.
I love space.
You should go with the island top with some chairs .and avoid having the table because having both the house will look cluttered

Sorry MJ is not a good idea to out ang island counter your space is limited . Ky opinion actually you need to minimalist. What happen to your living room. Better build an extension. My idea is just change yoi kitchen cabinets and make a hangubg cabinrt as well. Island counter is for big space
I know right. Her kitchen is so small for an island. She needs to build a bigger house if she wants an island.
Why not afull size floor to ceiling pantry next to where the water will go? With storage above the water. because with this layout you don't have a lot of storage. Also what are you doing with the open space below that window when you remove those cabinets? You need to rethink this plan you don't want dead space in your kitchen
If you want an island that fits MJ, only way is probably a portable island with "drop leaf" ends/sides 😉👌
You can buy them, d.i.y., or have one made
Another way to increase space is replace your dining table with an expandable table with a removable leaf/leaves in the middle, you take them out to accommodate fewer people and add/expand for more people.
And, at barely 5 ft., any high/tall cabinets are going to be difficult to access even with a ladder 🙏
Consider how much room to walk past the table when people are sitting there. I think you will find it very tight. Center island on casters (wheels) so it can easily be moved when you want more living room area. Table that can be extended if more people are eating. I'm sure Robbie has already thought of this stuff, but sometimes the details get lost in a bigger project.
Here in Texas an island is usually by itself and not immediately right by the dining table because it will look crowded. Anyway, you are there you have a clear picture and the right measurements. I suggest you do a drawing so you can picture and have the variation and ideas you want. With Robby there with you, everything will be OK. Good luck mga anaks. We love you much.
Suggestion dear, don’t use any wood for your cabinet it’s easy to the termite damage, instead use alum cabinets for your kitchen cabinets, you don’t have to worry about the termite issues
Very true, I also suggested same in their last video. Using aluminium, pvc, etc, will be better.

This is such an unnecessary expense.
Did you think of going up with the cabinets you have alot of space you dont use . With a small home going up is a great idea because it feels so much bigger and its worth it . Look at Dustin backpack he built his girlfriends family a house and built up for himself and his girlfriend when she got pregnant but the baby is 9 months now and theyre coming to America but look at his videos building there 2nd floor they used space well . They have a gorgeous view with a large outside patio. Theyre from a province in Cebu . @ Dustinbackpack
I was actually thinking about this before to have an island to divide the kitchen and living room. Open space house is good it is roomy but better if there is a division.

Where you put the cooktop on the counter drop it down - I've noticed you struggle with the cooktop on top of the counter due to the height.
Hi MJ, I noticed that you guys love to cut some coconut outside why not get a big wooden cutting board for your outdoor use.
My thoughts exactly and suggested same long ago, but I suppose they want to do it the traditional way ~ with the use of a bolo knife even and drinking the precious water straight up without a straw. 😊

Do not secure the island to the floor. You may find that in the long run it “gets in the way” and occupies too much space and you may want to remove it. So you dont want to damage the floor in a way that will look bad if you end up getting rid of or moving the island. Also, if it is not secured, then you could rotate it against the wall to restore the L-shape and not have to get rid of it.

Granite is natural and has been used for countertops and construction forever (thousands of years). Quartz is man made. If you happen to end up having to cut it yourself be super careful since you do not want to breathe that dust. It will tear up your lungs. To help your English….. it is pronounced …… GRAN-IT not GRAN-ITE.
Don’t cover the window with the fridge.
Move the refrigerator where your pantry/white cabinet you have . It will look spacious instead of moving it close to the counter

You should make that large cupboard between the door and the sink into an upper cabinet and lower cabinet and extend the counter top. So you can have more counter space. The island might be a little too big. Once everything is placed in the room might be too crowded? Or do a breakfast bar at the island with high stools and no table. Not sure how all this is going to fit? The space is small.

Put the stove where large white pantry is that is on the left of the sink and the fridge on the right of the sink in the corner.That same white pantry can go right where you are thinking of putting the water fountain the fountain can go next to the pantry or in the space where the stove was.Just make adjustments to suit you we may give suggestions but you are the ones gonna be living there.

Mj the dark is nice pick what Robbie pick. It give some contrast to white kitchen. But whatever you choose it will look lovely. Robbie is the gift from heaven.
I’d also add some cabinetry outside to the right of the bathroom wall that way it’s tucked away from the sight if you’re in living room.

Quartz is better than granite and marble, because it is non-porous. 21K for the whole slab seems a good price.

😮Isnt that store more expensive? The large stores have so much more to chose look up building kitchens in Philippines because so many people are building these days and many are adding on . Good luck 🤞🏻 Save as much as you can because the larger stores are always having sales . 21 thousand that's cheap !! WOW!!! In America it would be so much more . But Robbie has a beautiful family and Home in Poland and that's a great Country they put there people first . Safe beautiful place to live .

Maybe a good solution would be to get rid of the window, then there would be room to hang some shelves or hanging cabinets. An island is not a bad idea, maybe a little shorter. Robbi is right, a black kitchen counter is nicer and will not show yellow stains or discoloration and will add contrast to the whole kitchen.👍
