I never would have thought of this area, not having been here. Very pretty. It’s weird to me how the wineries are popping up everywhere- Missouri is now full of them and the hill country of Texas has one every mile. 20 years ago I never heard of US wines outside of California.
All you boomers are looking for something to do with that retirement account! I'm surprised to hear they're in West Texas. Seems like it would be too dry.
VR is worth it. The immersion is fantastic and most aircraft have a zoom function if you’re having trouble reading a gauge, but I honestly don’t have any trouble. I run a Varjo Aero on a 3080ti.
Thanks for that feedback, I hear the Aero is really top shelf. Have you ever tried any other models or did you just plunge into the heavy stuff? I've got to save up all my pennies for the PC rebuild in November, but if the income gods favor me this year, I might just go for broke and pick up a headset while I'm at it. 😮💨
@@MSFSFlightPlans it’s worth it! I was an early adopter of VR. I started with an Oculus Rift, then a Rift S and a Reverb G2. The blurriness was definitely an issue on the earlier headsets. I would go for a Pimax Crystal Light if I had to choose now. I helped my dad spec a machine and he runs a G2 on an i9 13900k w/4090. He can turn his sim settings up more but I feel the Aero has more clarity and it’s almost edge to edge. No sweet spot really.
Ah, I see. The clarity has really been my only concern as my vision is slowly getting worse with age as it is. And man, the price of the Crystal Light is a steal vs the rest of the pack.
@@MSFSFlightPlans I’m in the same boat. I can use the Aero without my reading glasses though. I picked it up during the last sale when it was under 1k, but you can’t even get support or parts now… I’m pretty sure a Crystal Light will be my next headset too.
Hey Nick! In regards to your computer recommendations, I currently have an Acer Predator Helios laptop 18" screen with an Intel i7 and RTX4060 & 32 GB RAM that I bought last year for MSFS 2020. But this past Friday I bought a new Acer Predator Helios laptop 18" mini-LED screen 250 Hz. from Best Buy with an Intel i9-14900HX - GeForce RTX 4090 - 32GB DDR5. A desktop version would be cheaper but I prefer laptops and with an 18" screen I don't need to use HDMI out to my 50" LG OLED tv. The new laptop should arrive next Saturday. Already have the Thrustmaster Hotas flight controls and rudder controls. Can't wait for MSFS 2024! 😀
I've just got this and always get a ground loop after landing tail wheel locked nose held down for as long as possible to keep rudder control but at the last minute uncontrollable ground loop.
That's odd ... I don't know how it would even be possible with the tail locked. Just to be sure, the lock lever is in the aft position (back towards the floor), correct? Assuming that's good, you might shoot for a three point landing and then pull the yoke back hard to keep that tail planted.
I've sorted it at last just like the real thing tailwheel locked and stick well forward for as long as possible then let tailwheel land. Just one thing how do you get rid of the co pilot?
Thanks so much for sharing this. I have been on vacation when it was released and just got home. I can't wait to get in the cockpit. 👍
Nice Vieuw with this plane cool flight !

@@MSFSFlightPlans Not really west Texas, closer to Kerrville and Fredericksburg
Oh man, I've been out that way MANY times. Not in the last decade or so, though.

Ah, the middle switch on the pedestal aft of the quadrant.
