The whole score from "Snoopy Come Home" makes me cry. It was probably the saddest cartoon ever made...it had no problem exploring these emotional depths that you don't normally see in children's films.
My mom and I watched Snoopy Come Home ALOT when I was growing up, she was little when it first came out and so she thought it'd be fun to show all of us kids, I liked it the most cause of this song! Now it makes me think of her and all of the fun times we had together when I was young. She passed 3 years ago on October 24, 2017. I miss you so damn much mom💔😭
This cartoon movie makes me remember so much growing up and I pretty much grew out of watching this cartoon show but during October and November I watch it
I listened to this song , for the first time, only in spring 2022 when I was 52 and started crying too . I think that the basic reason stands in the nostalgia of a good life

As a non native english speaker, songs and singers like this always amaze me, because you can understand every word without subtitles.
My grandmother and I were very close when I was a kid. She was stroke ridden but she was always sweet to me, and always used to hand me $1 bills as a boy and tell me to put it in my savings. Christmas was her time of year, so was Thanksgiving and she left us just days before Christmas Eve, when she celebrated. This song from Snoopy Come Home was always a reminded me of her. I miss you Grandma Cruz!
Text: _Part I_ I still remember a summer gone by. Why was it over so fast? I still remember when we said goodbye. Why can't our summertimes last? ~ music ~ _Part II_ Do you remember me? Once I called you my own. I'm sad as I can be. It's no fun all alone. Why can't a memory roll away like a tear? Why do I go to my window hoping you will appear? 'Cause I need you. 'Cause I miss you. 'Cause I wish you were here.
My little sister loved this movie so much and we watched it nearly every day. I only watched it again about four years after her death, and this song makes me bawl my eyes out. I'm crying right now
I loved this song watching Snoopy when I was young. Now listening to it, it has taken on a new meaning for me. I just lost my beloved little doggie a few months ago and I miss her so much. I had her 16 years. 😞
I remember watching Snoopy Come Home as a kid. Listening to this song, and seeing Lila, really made me sad. Now that I’m old, I have lost so much since then. Family, friends, loved ones, places. Now I listen to this song, I cry and my heart is sad.
Whenever I hear this song in Snoopy Come Home I start to tear up. Between this and "Someone's Waiting For You" in The Rescuers, Shelby Flint is to singing was Max Steiner was to composing--someone who knew how to cut straight to your heart.
I'm not going to tell you about any childhood memory or any family member who died, but I also like this song. Thank you for showing me what album it's on.

She may have the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. This is moving.
Brings me back to my childhood, watching the Peanuts VHS tapes.

_Part I_
I still remember a summer gone by.
Why was it over so fast?
I still remember when we said goodbye.
Why can't our summertimes last?
~ music ~
_Part II_
Do you remember me?
Once I called you my own.
I'm sad as I can be.
It's no fun all alone.
Why can't a memory roll away like a tear?
Why do I go to my window hoping you will appear?
'Cause I need you.
'Cause I miss you.
'Cause I wish you were here.

I'm so sorry. What happened to your little sister?

I'm so in love with this. Makes me think of my dad.
Same here
Me too 😥
Same 😢
This song relates to the movie Lorenzo’s Oil because Lorenzo’s Oil is a very sad movie about Lorenzo with ALD.

I still watch this film. Its becomes a summertime tradition. Even if I have to watch it all alone.
I just love this song... it's so sweet and reminds me of simpler days.
~ Snoopy Come Home~ 😊
I actually find this song pretty sad.
While it’s understandably sad, it’s absolutely beautiful. I applaud the Sherman Brothers for this.
Indeed. The Shermans are among the best songwriters in the history of Hollywood.
@@hotwax9376 I feel the same way for Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut)

It gets me every goddamn time.

It makes me cry to listen her voice.🥺
Love hearing the crackling of the record in the song. classic. very pretty song. thank you for posting.
Snoopy Come Home and Why Charlie Brown Why is some pretty sad shit especially for children, both those shows the harsh and cruel reality of life.
oh my god just looking at that picture and i can hear and picture her in the studio singing this
Snoopy come home brought me here
This song makes me sad, because that's what it sounds like.
This song would make me cry😭😭😭🤧🤧🤧
Me too. 😭 I miss our 2 dogs.
To Bella, my dear Beagle and the Snoopy to my Charlie Brown. Why do I go to my door hoping you'll appear? Cuz I miss you terribly...
Thank you for this . Watching Snoopy come home right now.
Ms. Flint has such a beautiful lyric soprano. She also sang the songs in _The Rescuers._
What a nice summer song.
This song’s an unbelievable tearjerker and it can feel quite humiliating no wonder I stopped watching Snoopy come home it’s way too upsetting
What's that song 🎵
I joke to myself, that this song is about my dwindling sanity.
Kind of reminiscent of Polly Bergens"The Things we did Last Summer."
He had to forget her all these years.
there was no Charlie Brown sadder than this...
❤
if i were Charlie brown I'd take Linus and Lucy and go get snoopy
This version sounds very Disney.
Sherman Brothers
