For those that aren’t sound engineers, DJs, Turntablist, Performing Artists, or Musicians…. This is the usual sound check! It just seems strange as there’s a huge crowd of people watching. Normally this is done well before any crowd is present. Early in the morning on the day of the show or the day prior to the show. The sound crew clearly was inexperienced! They had way too much bass running through the monitors. That was causing the vocals, highs, and mids to be drowned out. That also caused a wicked feedback. They also should have marked the stage with masking tape to show the artist where he should not step. Stepping in certain zones on the stage will cause the mic to feedback with the monitors. They also did not have Supercat mic leveled with the music. The music channels were louder than his vocals. Should have been reversed. I wasn’t present, but can diagnose the issue via video because I went to school for all of this (and much more)

When you do a performance the event has their engineers . You can't bring your own you may have your own band but not engineers . I put on events I would never let someone engineer control .if they popped the speakers it would not be covered by insurance,

If I were doing FOH and Cat come with that nonsense. Am calling the producer, and said look, let's hear all the things cat wants. It is obvious the set up was using the speaker for the band who may not have in ear. So if he wants to reposition them, then fine the musicians will have to figure it out. Secondly, and this for the people who are talking about how long and being a veteran. The band plays and the engineer bus the sound to where ever. So him telling the band, " In yah so" does not make him seem like he knows what he wants. What he should have done is sound check his mic without the band, them bring the band in to make sure the right level is distributed to the front and side fills. Then, as they groove, he comes in with the Mic to ensure he is sitting on top the band, color up his mic, and just like that sound check successful. That is how the pro works. Respecting each other contributions, not this cussing and unprofessionalism towards maybe a band, and engineers he never met. On stage sound is relative. Some singers only want the kick and keys for timing. So, it is the his job to work with the engineer especially if he is not your personal guy. Personally, I think Cat was being an ass.
