    I hope that you posted the video on TH-cam before you told the customer that the alternator was just fine. Maybe you can explain (with an annotation) why positive ground is used. Sophisticated stuff!

      Many cars used to have 6 volt positive ground systems. e.g. The Model A Ford. A positive ground system is uses because the wiring deteriorates instead of the body. My Model A Ford has a positive ground alternator on it. On a negative ground system the body deteriorates instead of the wiring. When copper and steel are in the same circuit, with a current running through it, one becomes the sacrificial metal. Hope this answers your comment.

    What RPM are you getting the 7 volts at. I have a 6 volt alternator like that and at idle or aroung 900 RPM's I am only getting 5.99 volts or slightly less. Tried exiting it and no change . The amp gauge in the vehicle goes up slightly though from zero. Is there a difference in the regulators as far as when they start charging?

    lol i use the same meter
