Wow was watching this and looked like I knew that car!! Then I clicked the video , my papa rudder and his blue mule man I sure do have great memories at the mighty duck
David marlin, okay I remember a guy mule, but he had to have been another number. There were other marlins too, but I didn't know any. Painter in the green seven sold his car and that's who that guy had to have been. Do you ever go anywhere now to watch? I wouldn't mind going somewhere this coming summer
I'm saving this and going to watch later, but I used to race against those guys back in the 90's. Travis and ?, rudder and hog? I had a Monte Carlo and raced with the Jim and jumbo Campbell. My name is rick anderson and had a white Chevy with the number 4. If you had pics of them around '95 or so I'm sure you would see my car in there. Thanks for this. I'm going to watch later. They both were really good drivers :)
Ya, Mule Crawford had a car there sometimes, and Jay-Bird Marlin had a red monte carlo. A guy named Bob Harris bought the track in 2012 and put gobs of money in the place and its about the nicest dirt track in the south now! You should check it out. He tore down and rebuilt the restroom and the new ones are heated and cooled and nicer than the ones at wal-mart! He really takes pride in the track and made it the best! Its now called Duck river raceway park.
When you would go through the gate in the pits up towards the track I had like the 4th concrete pad on the left. I remember the harpers were around the back past the bus always. I never really talked to them much. I did talk to William once for awhile. Remember and I'm thinking it was in '95 too. They brought 3 cars one night and someone I don't know who, but a friend or relative raced the 3rd car and got in a real bad, I mean real bad wreck. They stopped right under the flagger and he threw the green and someone ran in the back of him. He was stopped and they hit him wide open. Anyway I pitted one the left with Jim and jimbo. Some guy had a pad next to me that raced super street from Clarksville. I had number 4 and sterling marlin raced that kodak #4 car. All the kids would buy my pics from that Stanley guy who took the pictures every week. He told me he used to take extra pictures. David and Paul Gentry used to always talk to us. They would come out to the Campbell's body shop in lavergne a lot. I didn't work there, but kept my car there. You live around spring hill/Columbia now? I live in dickson, but lived in murfreesboro back then. I hadn't been to a race anywhere to even watch since I quit racing in '96
Neither one of them ever lapped me unless I had a flat or something. One race rudder and I started front row and he got under my car coming out of turn 2 and I have it on film. He hooked under my driver rear and my car jumped up over the hood of his car LOL. I seen jim number 15 in the first heat race and that #2 white and orange car was a friend of mine, we went to high school together, but I forgot his name. I lived in murfreesboro. This is from '95 I'm thinking. WOW this is awesome. I really hope you get an email letting you know someone posted on this especially sine it isn't that old. Who are you?
Dang that sucked I wasn't in that heat race he was in that night LOL. That guy in the green #7 Monte Carlo was jimmy Painter. He had the first concrete pad up there with us. That guy pitted next to y'all with the black 31? Was his name mule Crawford?
Hey Rick, The first few races was from 1995, and the rest with just Rudder was from 1997..man its been so long, where about in the pits did you normally pit at? I used to help Rudder.
+rsteag In the first videos, the real beat up one was a cuda with 400. The other one with the chrome wheels is a 1971 challenger with 440. The challenger is the same one through ALL the videos, just a different look every year..
The beat up cuda is rudder and the challenger is no pig. It's neat to watch these videos after all these years brings back so many memories. The Harper brother are my cousins. There's just some things you never forget and these memories are one of them!!!
Sure was some great times. I see my bunch in turn 1. D54

I remember the green number 7, he pitted right next to us. He was a nice fella. The black #31 was David Marlin, they called him 'Bull'.
