Tanjiro’s father was a mysterious man, with us never learning too much about his life over the course of the series since we only know what tanjiro knows, however there are a few times where Tanjiro remembers something interesting about his dad that lends to the idea that he may have been a powerful demon slayer in the past, or atleast had the capabilities to be one, like the time where Tanjiro remembers the day that his father taught him how to defend himself. Tanjiro says his father was like a plant and was always gentle, never showing negative emotions, even in the last days of his life. Some time after Tanjiro got his scar, he asked his father what he thinks about when he does the HInokami Kagura, telling his father that he’ll start doing the dance in his place next year, but the father says he’s never considered the dance to be hard, although it WAS tough at first when he was young and healthy, but eventually he perfected it, and as this flashback continues, Tanjiro will remember something CRUCIAL to winning against Muzan.

tanjuro mastered hinokami kagura not sun breathing they are close but have a few differences towards the end of the series tanjiro has a flash back of sumiyoshi watching yorichii preform the breath of sun and therefore perfecting it. what i think is tanjuro learned total concentration constant which kept him fresh and able to preform the dance for the entire night

And even if that were the case, Tanjuro could’ve just been stronger than all of them, not to mention he is the spitting image of Yoroichii, probably gave Muzan PTSD all over again thinking that bro was alive or something lol

It was part of the reason, and the fact that the Hino Kami Kagura is the one thing beside Youriuchi that Muzan fears. Muzan wanted that stain in his past to be erased.
Most of the reason is he wanted to see was if any of them turned into a demon would they be able to be in the sunlight

Yoriichi have all those three as passive skill while other who attain it can only use it for certain amount of time due to fatigue. Yoriichi is akin to god incarnation as to help the human to fight demons, if you are familiar with asian folklore, myths, writing and mysticism then you would understand more why none can come close to yoriichi.

It could have been the mark, but that wouldn't make much sense as his dad looked way older than 25, but who knows? Manga doesn't state explicitly that it was the mark, but does mention it being an illness that took his life
If it weren't for his illness he could have been the second Yoriichi, at least that's what I think, born with the mark just like him and having selfless state and the rest of the power ups, the potential was there
In manga reincarnation is a thing . He was Yoruichi reincarnated but he chose to be a family man and deny his destiny which is why he gotten sick as the gods were displeased

He never join the demon slayer corps yet his capabilities is even higher than most of the hashira. He can use the sun breathing but in a different way, he can use the transparent world, he also the one who teaches Tanjiro the technique to counter Akaza's compass. Imo, he should be rank above Sanemi in terms of skill. It's just his stamina that he lacks.

“Skill” he’s never been in combat, has no experience, no training and has never incorporated his dance into a battle against demons. He’s not more skilled, capable or anything than any of the hashira’s. He had the POTENTIAL, but never touched it

The other thing is the technique that he teach Tanjiro to conceal himself is what the most amazing thing a demon slayer could do, even Akaza's compass couldn't detect Tanjiro. He also perform the dance regularly in facts he was ill. Even Tanjiro who are completely healthy perform the Hinokami Kagura was like a boy who have an athma that need an inhaler. I didn't mean his experience in fighting demons.

As I said before, both him and uta reincarnate in the end.
Second, there’s no data-books or any source that has any claims of him being yoriichi’s reincarnation. Maybe there’s some “evidence” but there’s not much evidence to support that theory/claim.
And lastly, if that was the case, it would be weird for yoriichi to reincarnate to be the husband of someone who’s a descendant of his friend (yoriichi really loved his wife and I don’t think he would want to reincarnate as a guy who’s related to sumiyoshi who is a close friend of his).

This is a little wholesome theory I have, what if Tanjuro was Yoriichi but reincarnated?
Think about it, Yoriichi never truly wanted to be a Demon Slayer in the first place as unfortunate circumstances forced him to become one. Not to mention all he wanted was to live a peaceful life with a loving family. So thousands of years later he was reincarnated as Tanjuro, a simple charcoal burner who's both a husband and father of six 😊
(P.S there's also been some fan speculation that the reason for Tanjuro's illness was due to him unlocking the DS mark, just wanted to bring it up)

Yes, but actually no. Tanjuro's body couldn't bear the weight of mark, Selfless State and Transparent world. It was more like a curse. Being able to perform a dance and applying it in battle is not the same. He's strong, but he's not fit for fighting demons. I don't get it why people assume that he's Hashira level after killing a bear. But Muzan will have 5 aneurysm ruptures and 7 heart attacks just seeing Tanjuro with a sword.
I don't think it was the mark, the mark doesn't give you symptoms, but rather it provides strength until you've lived long enough and kills you instantly. None of the demon slayers have ever "suffered" from it, quite the opposite, until they died instantly like mentioned in the manga with the first demon slayers in the past. It's very likely Tanjuro has other kind of illness.
I think people are getting tanjuro (tanjiro's dad) and tanjiro confused. But neither tanjuro or tanjiro are reincarnations of yoriichi because they get tsumiyoshi's memories threw family lineage of doing the hinokami kagura dance. Because tsumiyoshi was the first kamado to start the dance and that was because his friend yoriichi gave him his earrings after having been removed front he demon slayer corpse.

It was only through age and wisdom and patience. He was able to get it perfectly so that it becomes second nature. But it is that the creator of the sun breathing is not related to the Tanjiro's family. In fact, it has given some clarity that his father learned the technique, but he is not related to the creator of the sun breathing
