Incase you are wondering , Portuguese missionaries came to Goa and Mangalore and a lot of the Hindus converted to Christianity and adopted Portuguese surnames. Which is why its common for a lot of Indian Christians from these places to have Portuguese surnames like Fernandes , Dsouza , Pinto , etc etc.

Catholics are all round the globe and they have their own surnames. Surnames are not religion specific. Only places which are run rown by foreign invaders ,kind of impose their own surnames when converting local populace via force or favours. Organic Christians world over have names more rooted in their own geographical region. Not dissing. Just stating facts.
Sometimes you'll find people like these on a beach clean-up. It's to get good PR and not be recognised as only "Sit-at-home-do-nothing-housewives". They'll pose with the litter, pretend to pick up some of it, and take pics. There are a few celebrities though who'll actually be good with it like Milind Soman, etc etc.
