@@ironwolfstudios2857 I LOVE HOW YOU BROUGHT THE SLAYING OF THE EVIL CEATURE TO LIFE. having read the Lion and the Witch I can't help seeing how similar Bilbo's display of Sword play if that's the correct word for it to Peter's when he slays the Evil wolf who clearly wants to make a meal out of his sisters Lucy and Susan. the only main difference is that Bilbo cleans the blade of his sword where Peter is reminded to do so
59:35 "Then the elves put thongs on him" I know the meaning of that word is probably different now then it was when it was written, but man that put a strange image into my head XD
i LOVE reading, but i’m α listening learner so i really can only comprehend books when reading along with someone and just can’t stand the computer voices reading! so this helps me α lot, thank you so much!!
i agree! not to mention i loved hearing the different voices he made for each of the characters. it made it more fun and interesting to listen and read along to!
I love the relative calm of this reading, as other audiobooks use a lot of the exciting (though often beautiful) filmmusic and battle sounds etc. which makes the listening experience much less relaxing.
@upperaustriaenglish3494 I've done that before, and I agree that there is a big difference between a text only audio book and an audio drama with music etc. But I do like doing those too. Glad you enjoyed The Hobbit.
I had resisted listening for quite a while. The Minds Eye production has been my favorite for most of my life. But I gave this a shot and I am very glad I did. You instilled as much life as a single reader into this classic as any full cast production could. Your pace works well. You annunciate beautifully and your voices are varied and engrossing. Thank you for this. I'll be checking out more of your work.
Thank you so much for making these audio books! I need to read this text for my school studies. But your audio book videos are really helping me out because I’m much more used to listening to text rather than reading it, saves me HEAPS of times and it’s just more reliable!
thanks! ive been woking for hours on annotating for school and even tho i love this book very much i cant seem to focus anymore. audiobooks def help me pick up the focus
I struggle to leave chapters halfway but I had no energy to continue physically reading the chapter. This helped me so much not be overwhelmed leaving the chapter. And I was able to do other tasks at the same time. Thank you for this
This is fantastic. I am a middle- and high school teacher and teach kids with dyslexia, reluctant readers and/or busy kids. Research to date has demonstrated negligible difference between listening to an audiobook and reading a book so I always recommend audiobooks to my students. I also listen to audiobooks myself while I am multi-tasking! Your reading is excellent - speed, intonation, expression - not to mention the accents which all work marvellously. 10/10 from me! (and please, do more books! especially ones that might be on a high school curriculum!) PS did you know that Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were friends and used to go to a pub called The Eagle and Child in Oxford and chat about God and books and so on?
It's a great pub. I've had a few pints there myself. Here is a different version of the same chapter for your perusal. th-cam.com/video/Tqd3Pe866aE/w-d-xo.html
Love the narration. Tolkien is one of my favourite authors it’s nice to hear it read very well without the movie music and voices Keep up the good work
Spiders 33:33... This audiobook version is perfect for our family as we cross country travel with the Millennial Choir Tour Go Millennial Choirs and Orchestra!!🎉
If I could turn The Hobbit into a series for children this part would start with Bilbo playing darts with young Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin and then telling them the story of the spiders. Aaww. And in the end, the 4 young Hobbits would hop off the bench and chant the attakop rap.😊 😊😊
18:35 Thats from The Hobbit cartoon from 1977. Watched it a few days ago just out of curiousity. Nice but too rushed. They could have made the book into a nice cartoon series, as customary with many other works of childrens literature, Bilbo telling the tale to Hobbit children...
i have to read from chapters 6-19 all in one day and this is how i’m getting it done! with good planning i’m actually getting it done. thank you so much! 🫶🏾
@itzzgamerboy535 I'm reading it for the first time because I'm a fantasy fan. The books are really good if your English teacher doesn't ruin it for u.
Bilbo spitting bars on those spiders 🤣🤣
That right there is emotional damage

The spider voices were brilliant!
Why thank you! they were fun to do. I loved doing all the monsters in this book!
I only have to agree!

that's what i was thinking
They gave him the Slave Princess Leia treatment.
The thong you refer to derives from thongs = ropes made of leather, I think 🤭
Bro Bilbo literally starting roasting the spiders 😭, so far this has to be my favorite chapter without a doubt

I'm very glad you approve of this method, I too love audiobooks! I think my imagination can flow much easier when I can listen and imagine ❤
Why a whole essay
Them Spider voices tho🕷💕
What time were the spider voices?
Fantastic spider voices 👏👏
I don’t want to miss any chapters of this great book. But my arachnophobia is too bad to listen to a chapter about giant spiders
Shame it's one of the best ones.
But of you do decide to listen, don't watch the slideshow...
It'll give you nightmares.
@@ironwolfstudios2857 lol, agreed. Meaty looking creatures.
Womp womp. I had many fears too once, then I grew up
