    Good review man. Great quality audio and video and your demeanor is perfect. Appreciate the demo and review as I’m currently looking into getting an effect pedal like this. I’ve watched a few videos but this was the best one yet. Thanks for a thorough deep dive into what this thing does. I probably would mostly use it for e flat tuning but I’m sure I’d noodle with all the other settings too. Can’t wait to check it out for myself.
    Take care ✌🏻

    Great review and video Jonathan...well done! This is one of best demos of this product I've seen on TH-cam, and I like the production value you put into your video as well. Graphics, sound effects, good cutaways. Keep up the great work! [Subscribed!]

    Yep. I don't know why but I want this pedal. Yet I already have a Digitech Drop Tune pedal. I like going from Drop D to Drop A but the latency and slight gain sucking from the Digitech was annoying. Would like to get another pedal that will do a better job.

      @@JonathonThamesMusic do you mainly use the perfect 5th and octave settings?

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kylebichler2258 That's actually kind of a lengthy answer lol, but the short version is it really depends on what it is I'm hoping to achieve; if I want to tune down, then I'll use whatever interval that will get me where I need to be (anywhere from m2 through P5 normally), but when I want to venture into whammy-style territory, then yes - I'd say P5 and the octaves are my main go-tos, but if I'm jamming on bass with whammy-style, I'll usually go with either m2, P5, or 1 Oct upwards, or anywhere from m2 to P5 down.

    Great video! Thanks. Quick question - Can this be used with a bass guitar to shift keys (making transposing a breeze). Is there any coloring or delay of the signal in the case of bass frequencies?

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for checking it out! Yes, it can absolutely be used with the Bass guitar. In both cases (electric guitar and bass guitar) there is no detectable tone coloring or delay; the response feels very immediate.

    Great review! Question: Tge band I am in plays everything in Eb tuning. Can I tune down a half step with the pitch fork?

    • @canuckcreatures
      @canuckcreatures 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No one is answering you, but the answer is yes (I do it in my band to go down to Eb for a song, and up to F to avoid needing a capo for another). The guitarist of the band Red Fang does this so he can use just one guitar on stage, and that's where I got the idea. There is a bit of a digital-ish sound that is a bit weird if you're playing super clean, full disclosure.

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately if you're starting out in Standard E-A-D-G-B-E, it wouldn't be able to achieve that without having to physically tune down due to the specific interval settings.
      If you drop down to M2 (Major 2nd), then that puts you down to D-G-C-F-A-D, and the option past that at M3 (Major 3rd) takes you all the way down to C-F-Bb-Eb-G-C. It would need to include an m3 (Minor 3rd) interval setting to achieve that from Standard, but unfortunately that isn't an option on the unit.

    Can you change what pitch it has when it's on the pedal's heel?

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I apologize, but I'm not sure I understand the question. What do you mean by "the pedal's heel"? And does that refer to using this pedal with or without the assistance of the expression pedal?

    • @prmy
      @prmy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JonathonThamesMusic I mean with an expression pedal, is it just dry when you have the expression pedal on heel? Or can you make it like, for example -1 octave on heel and +1 octave when exp pedal is pushed down?

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Prmy Ahhh, I'm sorry, I understand now. Unfortunately, no. With this unit, when using an expression pedal in the heel position, it will return to a true bypass-like state, and the guitar's original pitch will be in place. With this model, pitch shifting can only be added by pushing the pedal into toe position.

    no such thing as a "must have" pedal. But I use this as a chorus effect, that I like a lot better then a chorus, and it's other features come in handy at times.

    Bon Giorno. Drop C? You could?

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if you tune your guitar to a traditional Drop D, then you can use the pedal to drop down a whole tone to achieve a traditional Drop C tuning by having the middle toggle placed in the downward position, and having the knob on the right side set to the M2 (Major 2nd) position, which will transpose your overall notation down two semi-tones (or one whole tone).

    • @genegl1422
      @genegl1422 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JonathonThamesMusic traditional Drop E. Am I wrong?

    • @JonathonThamesMusic
      @JonathonThamesMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@genegl1422 I've actually never encountered a Drop E tuning before, though if the traditional model for drop tunings were to be followed, I'd imagine it would be: E-B-E-A-C#-E top to bottom.
      When I say traditional Drop D, I actually mean the tuning: D-A-D-G-B-E top to bottom. If you start there, you can use the pedal to drop the notation down one whole tone, to a Drop C tuning: C-G-C-F-A-D top to bottom.
      Now, if you wanted to go from E standard (E-A-D-G-B-E top to bottom), and transpose into a C standard (C-F-A#-D#-G-C top to bottom), then that can be achieved the same way, except slide the knob up one more notch (toggle down, knob at M3), which will transpose overall notation down 2 whole tones.
      If you want to go from E standard (E-A-D-G-B-E) to Drop C (C-G-C-F-A-D) however, you'd first have to drop your top E string to a D, and then use the pedal to transpose down from there (toggle down, knob at M2).

    Some good stuff, some kinda useless….. 👍

    • @JonathonThamesMusic

      Thank you for checking out the video and for the comment. I can definitely see how some of the unconventional combos of intervals in "dual" mode might not be something that a good bit of guitarists out there would find applicable to their playing/writing style, especially those more rooted in traditional styles of blues, rock, jazz, country etc. However, the more I've had the opportunity to experiment with the interval combos, the more I get a better sense and understanding of where I might be able to apply those combos in relation to the melodic arrangement; so at this point, I genuinely don't find that any of the combos are outright useless, but more so that they are best utilized only within a certain range of musical context.
      However, when it comes to using the intervals individually in either "up" or "down" mode, I personally have found value for the use of every single interval setting to meet a variety of demands I have as a player/writer; but again, I can definitely agree and understand that not every player will find value in that. Thank you again for checking it out! 😊
