It's just a personal opinion, I think nobody is aiming to solve all the cases of depression in the world with a song. Any way your solution may be valid for some (try helping out someone with depression getting out of the house and run and sing along, kudos to you) and really worthless for others. As the common sense should tell you, we're not all the same.

This song really gave me perspective on coming back from depression. "Don't be afraid just eat up all the grey and it will fade away." I was looking for something to bring me back to how I once was, a way out. Yet there is no great great escape, there is no such thing. At least not in the way you might think. The great escape is a long process, not breif. It could be as simple as putting a smile on your face everyday and appreciating all the things you have

When I was 15, I dealt with an eating disorder and depression. Every time I tried to calm down, I put this song, resting in my bed or walking to school. Not only did it eased me, but it gave me hope and joy. I could actually visualize a future where i was better and, most important, happy. This song _was_ my great escape and it will forever have a special place in my heart.

I used to listen to this on repeat in 2005 after I heard it on Grey's Anatomy. I was 17 and was dealing with bad depression, so this used to soothe me. I can't believe 15 years have gone by. The feeling of peace when I listen to this is still the same though.

I thought I understood the meaning of this song when I first heard it in 2015. I was wrong. This song is what it feels like to live through a global pandemic at the age of 21. So much unknown, so much lonely, so much grey. But I'm taking it day by day and finding escape in the things that I'm passionate about. One day, things will be okay again.
Sometimes we get closer to the end of our book but it is our decision whether we end it with our blood or with the most colorful memories, even if they are painful, continue to write the book for those we loved for those we hated for those who we miss to show them what they have taught us that they see that they have shown you to love no matter how dark the day was but to finish the book too quickly removes us from the loved ones who may also finish their book too early and not write the colorful story of your life to the end of what I want to say of what you love and the story you want to hear one of your loved ones

The video is broken into 3 stories, (1)working on an assembly line as a labourer, (2)raising/protecting a child that one day protects you and learning to enjoy life on your own in the now. These are all symbolic for 1 - Marx's Theory of Alienation 2 - Robert Munsch - Love you forever and 3 - Alan Watts - "Music and Life". obviously the flower means something too, up to you
