Hey, thanx for the heads up with this video. Always wondered whatta hell all these settings and buttons, etc, on my camera are and not understanding how to use them. This video is on my repeat button. Again, thanx for the info. Ashley from Johannesburg, South Africa
I look up information to educate me in everything from music production to school assignments, This is by far the *most informational* and *easy to learn* video I have ever seen. No confusion here! 😊
Well done big D. I can tell you took your time putting this together, not rushing. That's the best type of tutorial video. Where you put love in it. Respect.
Been shooting with my phone but the Galaxy Note series no longer allows for any FPS lower than 60 natively. So I bought a new Canon SL2 and this video really helped me get it set correctly and understand the settings. Thanks much D4Darious!
I'm a complete noob when it comes to DSLR and this is hands down the most helpful and entertaining tutorial I've seen! Kudos bro! You're doing solid work. I know this video is over a year old but still. Thank you. From one creator to another I appreciate you! 🙏
D4Darious awesome! Me too. Good to see another creator in Tucson. I've only been here for about a year and a half (from D.C.). The heat sucks, but the magic hour is amazing. Would love to talk shop sometime (beers on me).
Hey man, wish there was some way i could thank you. You might not realize it, but you are helping people help others as well. Thanks bro. We appreciate it!
Props! I'm feeling your new mello intro and outro. Always informative. Watching your walking vlogs I'm seeing diverse film locations. I'm looking forward to your next short film.
As Always.. Great!! Thought I was dumb trying vlog in manual mode. All along I was doing it right (still learning) I do realize now I need better lens. Your videos help so much. Thanks!!!
Videos like these are why I subscribed to your channel. Thanks Darious. Literally PERFECT tutorial. Visual examples are the best because sometimes just talking is not enough. Thank you!
was a #videohead but my lovely fiancé got me a t6i for my 30th. ready to put all this amazing info to good use!!! thank you for making so many wonderful/helpful/fun videos!
Awesome video! I so needed this during film school because I could never keep up/remember all these details in cinematography class. Next time I get my hands on a camera, I'm going to watch and practice with the info from this video like crazy.
Thank you so much for doing what you do! You probably don't even realise how helpful you are, honestly, you have taught me more about film making than my college tutors!
Dope channel bro ... recently found your channel while doing research on on my camera and such .... my company and my CEO is getting ready to do a cross country bicycle ride from Los Angeles to Ohio to bring more awareness to youth suffering ... its always nice to refresh up and learn shit that you may have forgotten!
You are brilliant in these vids I have watched tonight: thank you. Great communication, solid insights, excellent production values. Plus I love the NASA sound. Well done mate, much appreciated. Best, John
Your videos are so incredibly helpful. We have watched your full channel about 3 times over now. We just got a Sony A7s2 and its a great camera but I wish I could find a guide online like this for the settings in there because the layout is different, even some of the labels don't add up and something like this would be super helpful. If you can get your hands on a model. We would love if you could do one. D4DARIUS can show that not all heroes wear capes!
Love your tuts Darious! And love your charismatic personality too! This smooth and clever combination really inspires me to start making micro films and play with my camera! Thank you!
A new video! You inspired me to start my own channel and since I started- you haven't post one video until now. I'm always looking forward to your new videos!
Thanks! I'm a first year film student and without any money, I had no idea where to start- your videos popped up first and I watched all your videos since.
Thanks for the continued content and education. I usually watch on my XBox One and thus can't comment. Sorry. Been watching for a year and a half. Thanks again. PEACE!
Man really love your style, only I would have added would be a on camera led during magic hour to keep face lit a little bit, thanks man you've been and still are so much knowledge and inspiration for me
I've been neglecting my 60d as I feel it's aging rapidly these days and considering a gh5 (for 4k etc). Maybe I should smash out as much as I can with the 60d before I upgrade. Cheers mate for the inspiration.
I'm still using the 60D + 24 - 70mm F2.8 Canon lens after a year and half without upgrading. Currently working with a fashion magazine in Vietnam. And I can say that the 60D serves me real good. You can check out some of my works in my channel
Was up D4Darious. I was wondering if you are going to make a video on how to make quality B-roll footage. Keep up with your unbeatable content, you are really helpful and insightful.
BROTHA! First of thank you for doing these videos. As you know as a film maker you are constantly learning and as a business owner you have to constantly evolve. On that note, I'd love to see some documentary filming secrets you might have. Please let me know if you have a video made or if you are going to make one soon. Thanks! -Al Khouri III, CEO Alikour Productions LLC.
I like your Content very well. thanks for teaching. please may you make a tutorial how to make the best settings for a 60d and a monitor? for example how to get a cinematic settings? many thx foreward
Hey Darius! Thank you for your channel, I have learn a lot those last few weeks. What can you tell us about Flat as a picture style? Heard it could make the color work better/easier than basic picture settings. Cheers from France.
im following you because you have great dictation and i can really grasp what your trying to teach. great video. oh and also james lipman gave you a 👍 and if it's coming from him it means your solid.
thanks so much man, i just got 700d with kit lens and wanna jump right into it before getting more gear. Did you use a stabilizer all the time or were some shots while moving still done handheld? Love your videos, they mean a lot to me :-)
My interest in videography and film production has grown tremendously and looking to wanting to do movies and shows but i dont know where to start. Would you recommend? a 4 year college or trade school, or could i keep watching vids on youtube? Can you help me. I wish you had classes i love how you execute your skills techniques, and knowledge.
Great vid, small heads up: 24fps is for "cinema" regardless of where you are in the world. UK and Europe (and Australia, New Zealand etc) don't use 25fps instead of 24fps, they use 24fps for PAL TV vs North America's 30fps for NTSC TV.
Hey D4Darious, I watched this yesterday (may 11). I thought, "Hey, that's cool". Then today (may 12) I saw a title that piqued, I said, "Oh, that should be good". So, I'm watching it and I'm sayin' to myself, "Hey wait a sec, isn't that that guy that did that one yesterday"? I scrambled through my history, and BOOM! it's the same dude. SUBSCRIBED!!! I love your stuff. Gonna binge watch and do the "film school in 30". Thanks for sharing.
Dem calves tho. Favorite channel, D-Britt. Gonna try and find out how I can be a part of your team now and help with your filmmaking, as I'm sure I'll learn a lot lol. Keep doing what you're doing, we appreciate it :)
+Austin's Obsession Productions I will keep doing these videos as long as you keep shooting Austin. These videos don't matter if people don't pick up their cameras and get out there ;)
Hello D4, I picked up a Panasonic LUMIX G7 However I am moving away from shooting music videos to short films I’ve been shooting videos with my cell phone since 2012 and I’ve just started to get into my Panasonic but I find myself going back to my iPhone 8+ as a back or main camera I’m using a app as well with the iPhone which gives me great editing and settings Watching your TH-cam videos has giving me insight and motivation My question is from a professional stand point can I make a decent short with my iPhone 8+ as a 2nd camera becuz I want to create and film from various angles that has cinematic structure but I don’t want various lighting complexity both shoots in 4K i want to create a decent film the 1st go around
I just got my new camera. A Canon 5D Mark II. When I go to video mode on the camera, I've noticed when I turn the ISO Down to 30 I pick up 3 dead, red pixels. This usually shows up more when it's dark. And in one shot, one of the pixels started dancing. What is the cause of this? Can I fix it?
Great video! How about Slow Mo though? You would need to shoot at 60fps for a decent quality, right? This is what I do with my videos but maybe there is a different way to do it? 😊
peerrrfeect time...guess what?,..i.just got a dslr today...and u made my day better....thank u

I was just about to search for camera setting videos later tonight. Clutch ✊

Been shooting with my phone but the Galaxy Note series no longer allows for any FPS lower than 60 natively. So I bought a new Canon SL2 and this video really helped me get it set correctly and understand the settings. Thanks much D4Darious!
I love the motion timing in your videos. I still don't have a handle on when to speed up/slow down etc. Great job once again.
I'm a complete noob when it comes to DSLR and this is hands down the most helpful and entertaining tutorial I've seen! Kudos bro! You're doing solid work. I know this video is over a year old but still. Thank you. From one creator to another I appreciate you! 🙏

Damn, so focused and comprehensible videos, love your work man :)
This is great! If I get asked what settings do I use, I'll just send them to this video.

I go back to this guide everytime i pull the camera out! Thanks bro!
Your videos are so incredibly helpful. We have watched your full channel about 3 times over now.

I've been neglecting my 60d as I feel it's aging rapidly these days and considering a gh5 (for 4k etc).
Maybe I should smash out as much as I can with the 60d before I upgrade. Cheers mate for the inspiration.
+Jake Bray you should definitely pick that camera up and shoot right away. It is still a very good camera.
One of the best channels out. Your dope bro

Great video. Question, when you're shooting in slow motion and speeding up motion are you still shooting at 24fps or are you shooting 60fps?
+banana brand I shot all of those sequences in 60 frames per second so that I could slow things down to slow motion whenever I wanted to.

Great video! How about Slow Mo though? You would need to shoot at 60fps for a decent quality, right? This is what I do with my videos but maybe there is a different way to do it? 😊
60 fps and above yes. double the frame rate to find the shutter so your shutter should be set to 120th or 125th of a second.
Awesome! Thanks for the advice Darious!
Ah thanks man! This very informative!
your english is foreign kids friendly. Never had to pause and go back in your vids :)))
+Mimura Gasellia if that's true, I'm lucky. Usually I get comments saying to speak more slowly lol.
