Birding the Somerset Levels in May & June 2024

    Great film Jeff great white egret very well captured all the young birds were brilliant images of the kingfisher were exceptional you are so lucky to capture the bearded tits and marsh harriers you did well on this visit plus the osprey was a bonus ❤ until the next time regards Dave👍

    Original as viewed by 12 subscribers had 3 rendering (converting) errors: two 5-sec black screens that should have been 1-sec fades, and loss of end title background scene. These corrected and re-uploaded to TH-cam.

    I don't know the Somerset Levels, I've spent some time on the Newport Wetlands site across the channel, I was amazed at the numbers of Cettis Warblers, a bird that was not heard when I was younger.
    I've seen Egrets in South Wales, but not the variety there seems to be in Somerset.

      Yes, Cetti's are common in suitable habitat on the Somerset Levels. GW Egrets 1st bred in 2012 and are now wide-spread across the Levels, c.90 nests this year! Cattle Egrets have found it to their liking having 1st bred in 2008 (1st for UK) and now number c.450 in winter counts.
