The only note that’s actually different is the 7th because Metallica is using harmonic minor. Which is why there’s dissonance in like a couple spots. But I’m conclusion, @Axl H. they both incorperate the same arrangement of sharps or flats ont the staff what changes is a G major key creates an expection of something brighter whereas E minor creates that expectation of something darker. an E natural minor scale in essence could be seen as a playing a G major scale but starting and working your way up from E instead of G
