    Ive just stumbled across this channel and think its excellent. Finally a channel that isn't all just talking you actually get stuff done and show it in the videos. Perfect for me as Im self teaching myself the basics and going to take the plunge and buy a salvage vehicle at some point.

    Love how you are so worried about it being dirty, while you are still building things. Like me you’ll probably clean it ten times while working on it before its done.

    I absolutely enjoyed that one mate! I plan on touran dash swap my caddy and now I have ideas of what to look out for. thank you. I also bought mk7 milti function wheel and steering control module a can gateway and an rcd330 radio and I might go all out and do a climatronic swap. your van is looking the buisness now. touran dashboard looks so lovely. the silver center bezel is the icing on the cake.

    What’s the point of the dash swap? Not being arsy... I mean... is the touran dash nicer or sleeker or whatever? I swapped my mk6 transit transit dash for the mk7 so I could have the gear stick up on the dash and not the long stick out the floor! Feels much more modern

    Great video, learning a lot from all the videos. As you still are in the rebuild stage, I would say to fit a MK4 Golf interior light (like ebay item number 313304116089) so you have the map lights but you can also fit a VW microphone (like ebay item number 273339199862) so if you did decide to fit a Bluetooth head unit, you would have the factory mic as well. Wouldn’t hurt to throw in a DAB aerial at the same time 👍 You may have already done this but thought I would mention it at this stage. Keep up the good work on the videos 👏

    Great work on the channel. I've done the dash swap a few years ago and since sold the caddy but looking to get another soon, I do remember having issues with airbag and the switch in the glovebox. Did you use the original caddy passenger airbag or the one from the touran?
    Also how did you get the gti bumper so cheap. I've been looking and theyre over £200 without the black trim bits? tia

    • @DanChambersDAC
      @DanChambersDAC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers bud. The Caddy didn't have a passenger airbag so I just removed the Touran one. I haven't connected the glovebox light either. I paid £150 for just the bare bumper and £130 for the grilles. All off eBay.

      @bencrosbie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PeetB_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bencrosbie if you were to install a 2011 caddy multifunction steering wheel, you would only need to adjust the slip ring and do some coding in VCDS am I right?

    • @bencrosbie
      @bencrosbie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeetB_ so I have a mfsw (multifunction steering wheel) module with a CH at the end of the model number and I ordered a slip ring / clock spring with a C at the end of the model number they should accomodate the multi function controls but there may need to be modifications on the airbag loom. I havent tried any of that just yet to confirm but yes I pretty much will need VCDS coding to allow mfsw to enable. I have a mk5 gen 08 caddy the next mk6 gen caddy will just have the slip ring to replace to work it. the mk6 steering wheel would be plug n play. but I reckon the mk7 steering wheel may work with some wiring modifications.
