this is my personal opinion, but i feel the girl bands on x factor couldn't get votes cos the public don't really get to know the individuals in the band. like from the start, u see band as a whole and it's more difficult to develop a sorta "personal relationship" with them. whereas girls aloud was formed with a group of girls who had already gotten fans as individuals, so it's easier to relate to them.
