- Iso is the new duelist agent coming to VALORANT in Episde 7 Act 3, and everyone seems to think he's stupidly overpowered and will be nerfed soon after he's released, but is that really the case?

Double Tap makes it look like you're playing aimlab mid match.
and it ruined your crosshair placement so hard
this is going to be more tough as his orb will only last 2 secs only. Reyna's orbs last longer.
Is iso going to be broken with the odin?
@@connorsears6528 his main strength relies one tapping, he will be garbage with odin.
@@gigaheheboi unless you use the fragile thing through the walls on accent then odin them all.
The ult is definitely for entering a site. Even if Iso dies, the site anchor will disappear for long enough to take the site and when he reappears he is an easy target.
Thats actually really smart. You can just take away one of the enemy for like 15 seconds so your team can enter site easily
Or to take of the Annoying jett on long A/C of Haven. Get intel and she is gone :]
@@Malam_NightYoru that would be amazing. I wonder if you could take away an ultng Kayo so your team doesnt get supressed
you can take out a viper camping in her ult
@@MarinKitagawa2 i wonder if that removes her ult
I think out of all the agents in the game, his usefulness relies the heaviest on the skill of the player.
nah, i'd say it's reyna, his q and c can help his team without needing to aim a lot
and reyna cant even use Q and E without getting a kill@@oomnimercy
yea i agree it can help with improving skills for low elo players too.

oh naive me thinking bulletproof wall as MAIN kit would be good
its expensive asf and didnt even give as much value as it takes
To me he seems to be made specifically to shut down operators. His shield let’s you get close to the op without much danger giving you the advantage, and his ult is harder for ops than vandals
lmao kayo@@froggystyle9068

His kit isn't supposed to be broken, he's an assassin. A part of being an assassin is that you kill enemies 1 by one without getting kill/noticed yourself. His double tap perfected demonstraights that as its not like reyna where you can instantly pop the dismiss or heal but instead you have to hit the orb which signifies its better for issolating 1v1's (hence his name iso). His wall is the only "real" piece of ultility that actually helps your TEAM get onto site and his Q ability is an ability that can be used before a fight to increase the odds of him winning that duel hence a duelist. His ult is basically the definition of a 1v1 as it puts you in a situation where neither player can be traded. He isn't a agressive duelist and is more passive, trying isolate 1v1's as much as possible.
The best assassin is not one who is most skillful nor most smart. The best one is who completes assassination successfully and survives aftermath. -Hitman 47
Exactly. Like he said, getting 1v1s in pro and semipro play is hard
he is good but i wish his ult woulde be like phoenix that you dont die
Relax
You’re supposed to write a comment not a novel
In a 1v2, you might think his ult will be useful for seperating fights. But if you know where Iso ults from the other teammate can just wait for him to pop out. Even if Iso instantly equips weapon, its still hard
But on the other hand, your ult has a very large area of action, which can negate this weakness, so you kill the enemy quickly or they don't know exactly where you are
wow thats actually smart, if u know iso is nearby and he uses his ult, the other opponent can just push him
@@bolacha7645 you'll need intel to use it, they'll probably know which direction and just start looking around
Yeah you can't clutch a round with his ult if you're attacking unless it's 1v1 cause that's just valuable time you get completely taken off the map while they know they're safe to stick defuse
Yeah sure but since you can get the orb when you reappear then you will be able to kill them before they kill you
2:55 the way I interpreted this was specifically if there is an Iso on each team, they’d be able to interact with each other by basically stealing their orbs instead of anyone shooting it to nullify the orb, which I’d find kinda funny and interesting if this is the case. Notice how the riot dev phrased his explanation and context-he said if Sadhaak (the enemy iso) gets an orb, Derke can shoot it before he does. He doesn’t mention anything about the team shooting it or cancelling the orb gain in general
Thats kind of hilarious lol
He is more like a supportive duelist agent and he can shine in a co-ordinated play.

Man, I gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed this video, it felt snappy and quick. With all the hype clouding everything it was nice to actually get real information on the guy and his kit. Thank you for being so clear and considerate! Great work on the video!
Iso isn't overpowered. To me it seems like Riot is trying to focus a little more on the casual side of their game with this addition. He's just a fun agent for casual players, not that good in pro play but going to be a little fun for us casuals. Think that's why they gave him such a drastically different type of kit than what we've seen anywhere before; the damn domain expansion is crazy
Can't wait to see the shitshow that is PRX picking Iso, would actually be insane and fun to watch.
Very useful video, the explanation on Iso's kit helps us to understand that he is quite balanced and can be a decent pick in ranked...I agree with you and I see you've done a lot of research, great video👍
VCT Lock-in was broken bc of the cove
He is more fitting as a "Support" type neither duelist type nor sentinel, initiator, controller. He is good if you peek and take gunfights after he used his abilities.
One thing that is also pretty good about the ult is the 1v1 clutch situation. You wait for the defuse and then you use the ult to take more time post plant.
The undercut will combo with the specter really well, considering that is one of easier guns to be consistent.
I was thinking about that too. Instead using only classic on eco round, just use stinger/spectre and do the Undercut combo with run and gun playstyle. Maybe spectre meta on anti-eco round is back?
I have a feeling Iso will be a great second duelist pick. His whole kit is balanced pretty well, a very personal skill reliable agent, the use of the C and Q abilities is kinda hard to use on his own so combo with another aggressive duelist like jett or reyna is a very great idea, his E is kinda 50/50 tbh. Like yeah its good in some senarios like tanking a raze ult or op shot but if the enemy is good then they can just bursting down Iso through the shield and kill him with a phantom or vandal. His ultimate is a unique ult, it can be good on many situations but also can be a dumb move on somes, I realized that a lot of the play test just miss out the orb in his ult, don't do that guys, if you win in the ult remember to shoot it, it basically bringing a free shield to the real world. He shouldn't be the only duelist on a match since he's not capable of aggressive entry, he feels more like a supportive type of duelist.
Overall decent agent, not game breaking but not shitty, definitely will try him when he's out
i honestly think hes just a fun charcater to play. he doesn't provide much value to the team compared to other duelists which is a shame casue we've been waiting for something to counteract the raze/jett meta for awhile. his orb ability compared to reynas dismiss/heal overall has more cons and less pros, his wall doesn't really help his team entry especially because its not that big. and his vulnerable thingies don't have much use other than wallbang potential.
I think making the double tap, heal when you already have the shield is good buff for him so its not just resetting the time of his shield, this can also encourage the enemy to shoot his shield ball more to make counter play.
Nice video. This seems to be in line with what Boaster was saying in his video on Iso so probably going to be true. I'm still very interested to try him out - I used to like playing Harbour as a quasi-dualist (which ended up not working out well) specifically because of his High Tide and just being able to push onto site with it. But then people would just spam through it once they got used to the agent lol. So this seems like I'd actually be able to play Iso the way I wanted to play Harbour. Also being able to make the Phantom not suck with his vulnerable ability would be amazing.
I love how the Aimlab Orbs and the 1v1 ult are concepts I never expected to see in this game
I think it would be sick where while in your ult, after you get the kill, the orb that spawns over head acts also like a teleport. So if you dont shoot it you go back to where you cast the ult, but if you do shoot it you go to where you caught the person with a single hit of immunity.
Oh yeah, so the enemy team can camp where his teammate disappeared and kill ISO
@@raseli-sp7octhat was my first thought too, but if you have the option between the two it might make for some pretty cool off guard plays
@@raseli-sp7oc well you get the choice to do so. It might be great for entry, with like a secondary entry with Jett, cuz either way the body is being camped. Either by your team in case you die or (in this hypothetical) the enemy team seeing if youd tp
@@raseli-sp7oc bro didn't even read the comment and made up his mind damn

He feels more of like a second duelist/initiator type of agent. Using his util to help team entry (using wall to isolate corners, ult to remove site anchor such as cypher, kj, viper ult, op users holding long corridors, etc. ,and using his Q like an omen blind to help teamates, especially deadly on maps where 5 man W-keying onto site with stingers is very strong.), and then coming in as the cleanup crew after using his double tap to snowball (if youre good enough).
I definitely would be expecting to see him alot on double duelist comps, esp with neon/raze etc where undercut significantly increases their threat level (and you dont need lineups for it unlike viper snakbites).
His shield is solid
His vulnerable debuff would be good if combo-ed
The ultimate would be skill based, but i can see how it's at least can be very strategically to kidnap a site anchor or waste time even if you do lose the duel
His signature is probably the only thing lacking
Overall a very great strategical agent
The thing I dont see how his vulnerable which is basically works as an omen paranoia fits for a duelist
@@abhiramyanamandra9403 for attacking his vulnerable would be kinda sucks, since it doesnt do any control effect, just makes them easier to kill with weaker weapon/body shot. I believe his play would be wall up to isolate fight, and shoot his fragile to corner where enemy would be. But it's good for defending since you just need to aim it at choke point
But generally unless you want to take a risk, if you're in unfair situation you'd just fall back.
Nice video. It's actually helping me see some strengths to his playstyle. My brother and I saw his kit and immediately thought it was garbage. Hopefully he doesn't end up being another Deadlock.
I am so happy you made this video cuz no one believes me he is not over powered thank you so much
same here
i mean as long as u explain why he sucks anyone who is above like silver will understand
There's a lot of people saying he will be and actually. His reception on how good he will be is the most mixed I've ever seen with an agent that hasn't come out yet
Some effect against the enemy would definitely make the ult better as vulnerable or maybe aura reading or there are two clones of you moving at the same time at the same place so it would confuse the enemy.
Vulnerable effect is underrated and changes many breakpoints. Going for bodyshots is ten times easier, and while it doesnt look cool, i dont think anyone will care if you drop 30 kills with bodyshots. For starters, you can 2 tap with a phantom or vandal to the body. Then, weapons like judge, bucky or odin become lethal at long ranges while being way faster. And the breakpoints: sheriff 1 bodyshot to no armor, guardian 1 bodyshot to light shields, marshal dealing more damage than an OP, ghost 3 tapping the body to full shields, bulldog ADS killing anyone with 1 burst etc. Also the damaging utility combined with this
His wall will be hard to use, but those who get good at it will have a powerful tool on them
Finally, as for double tap, you have it in your ult. Cant you just shoot the orb that spawns in ISO's ult after you win the duel to get a free double tap shield? Why isnt anyone doing that? Then, NO ONE is going to be playing stingers against you, so the 40 damage or the one tap the shield protects you from is insane, and you will probably have this ability active all the time because you have 2 charges.
His ult can just remove anyone from the map. Annoying killjoy with a shotgun locking down B? Ult her. Ulting raze/jett/neon? Ult them and they are left with nothing. And with the selectivity that you can get, you will probably often use this ult against people using OP's or shotguns to bring them into a fight they will likely lose. If you have a vandal, someone with a bucky on that other end will not be able to kill you. And anyone using an OP will have to land a really quick shot. If they dont, they die due to a miss or due to not shooting fast enough.
I think they will nerf the double tap so the timer is shorter like 7 seconds (keeping in line with stuff like jetts dash) as to not make it too difficult for the lower elo to shoot it but make it difficult enough that it isn't easy to do it, I also think that if you get a kill after you get 1 then the first kill ball should disappear (if this isn't already a thing), but in the end his timers are definitely getting nerfed.
100 smt days later and he just got buffed, I actually love him in diamond acsedent elo because i out aim everybody and hes just a rlly fun agent to play
From watching other people gameplay, it's a lot more balanced than it reads on paper. It's also a nice mix of team based and aim based utility
his vulnerable is really interesting as a way to hold down a site people are pushing onto. i haven't heard a lot of talk about that
the ult will be good for enemies during spike defuse, so u wont need to push it and kill, u can just buy time with ur ult.
Also, if you are a Agent that has ability to get to height, especially in places where the enemy really needs to use ISO wall, you are ultimately at an advantage. Check out 3:54
Does undercut also affect teammates like Viper's snakebite or Omen's Paranoia? and does the spike carrier bring the spike in Iso's ultimate when hit?
What I'm afraid of is the visual of the double tap shield. It's so damn big, wonder if it can give away your position in tight corners to the enemy
it definitely has in some clips of pros playing him. i recall seeing iso on B on breeze jumping u in the boxes to look for a fight in a postplant scenario and his shield let the enemy viper see him early though the viper still lost the duel somehow
I think his vuln wall is interesting for more reason than just the vuln. It's bulletproof. It lets you swing out without getting held on the angle and shot as you peek. It's almost like peeking with a Cloudburst, and it'll make him pretty nice with the Operator
it's unrealistic to be faster than the wall tho. but it's true that you can set up those opportunities to your teammate
@@ApaYaa2nd You dont have to be faster than the wall , but say on Bind peeking out of Hookah onto B Short you could send one down as you swing and itll protect you
i have a question, if u can stack the shield, does it also stack up the number of instances of damage ur invulnerable too? cuz thatd be pretty annoying to play against
Can u make a vid on ur predictions on what to buy on rounds like pistol, saves, etc
double tap is like chamber's tp it doesnt necessarily replace jett's dash or in this case reyna's dismiss but its still very strong in other usage like how jett can still op but have to be proactive and can dash into site similarily double tap makes u invulnerable for 1 instance of dmg but u wont have any downtime so u basically almost guaranteed to hv 1st shot compared to reyna who has dismiss that doesnt help u win fights but to reposition that increase ur chances of winning
Pushing back enemies from entering site is gonna be awesome with the shield. For instance just equip judge and run behind the wall
I feel with Contingency, I m gonna try counter that by a shorty and run in the wall, they also dont expect people to run through it
How you can use the ult as well is ulting the sentinel on the site and the sentinel becomes surpressed so his util is not working
I'm intrigued to see how double tap interacts with the mollies in the game. Does it provide protection for only a second? Or is it for as long as you are in the molly?
It stops only one piece of dmg so you just wont get hit if you step in it and back out
8:43 thank you for clarifying this
2:40 What he was trying to was that the other team's iso can break his orbs before him and activate shield from it too, not every other agent on the other team.
I'd say the double tap will get nerfed to one use that can be sustained or the two uses but you can only activate shield one time instead of resetting
What happens with ISO’s double tap and golden gun from Spike Rush? Does it block it still?
Can you explain one thing to me please, if he takes Viper on his duel would her ult be disabled immediately like she's dead or it will be on timer like if Viper just left the area of her ult?
I think the main selling point of him is his undercut as it can make for some good combos in the pro scene
One question can you throw like a raze nate through the wall no you can't right ?
Kill Contract could be the ultimate stall ability on spike defuse situations, especially with less than seconds to spare.
The real question is: Do effects get kept once you enter the Ult?
Because if they do, then you just got to time it with one of your teams concussion or flash abilities, and the enemies are screwed. And the enemy wouldn't be able to Uno Reverse Card it as often since they don't really have much of a warning for the Ult usage unless the Iso player is forced to hold it for a while.
Does his wall also block throwing abilities like Raze grenade or Viper molly or Brim moly?
wait what happends if you manage to grab an enemy with iso's ult when theyr are holding the spike?
i highly recommend peaking from either left or right sides in the ult. DONT PEAK MID
Wait would iso be crazy on pistol round just get his omen thingy then ask one of your teammates to buy sheriff and its like a mini op no? (as long as they didn't buy shields)
even if when you ult the ennemy can freely defuse or you lose time to defuse I still feel like being able to force a 1v1 especially in a clutch situation is broken it gives you such an advantage compared to being in a 2v1
Its like a deadlock ult that can go through walls, but you duel till' one dies
I just realized that Isos wall can be paired nicely with a raze nade . Throw the nade like a sec before Isos wall reaches the enemy and bam. The enemy doesn't know what hit em
Is there a time lag after the ult ends and he gets his gun back after entering normal playground ?
I dont think ive seen anybody talk about this but i think when using double tap you have a faster reload similar to a reyna ult
Could someone tell me if his double tap protects against shorty, bucky, judge, classic right click completely or if its just 1 pellet?
I wonder if his shield works for non-damaging abilities? like does it block fade E? Fade ult? KJ ult? many possibilities.
I think he’ll see playtime in ranked but only with double duelist comps as he fills a unique spot that isn’t a typical duelist
beautiful insight!
Also i agree they need to not restore enemy health and ammo it puts iso at a disadvantage during ult if they had less health even if bith sides get the same health and ammo its called kill contract not its time for a gentlemans duel
His ult is actually pretty weak when compared to other ulta(except cypher and omen)
It gives you the least advantage (which is close to none)
my personal idea is that his e is mediocre but still good for some situation his walls like a cove moving forward and i think would be good with harbor cascade i feel like you can make small areas on site like sunset b stairs with c and boba or shop with cascade ult his q might work well for coordinated play such as in stack or not as much but in pro play also his ult is good for bullying site anchor everything but e is good for bullying site anchors so good luck kj and cypher mains(he's also like chamber dosen't do their role properly)
Imo I don’t think he’s a terrible agent. He’s more like a 2nd coming of reyna to me since both of them require kills to activate one of their abilities (e.g. double tap and reynas heal and dismiss except u hv to shoot orb in order to become bulletproof for Iso) If he has a flash I think he would’ve been more viable but I’d put him in a B tier. This does not mean that he’s going to be replaced but let’s see how he performs in the current meta and pro scene.
he is a good spare duelist, hes more of an initiator than duelist tbh
some things that are really cool with iso ult are
1. It can pull agents out of ult
2. It can pull any lineup agent as long as you have an idea as to where they are
3. It can pull a planter with low time on clock
4. It can pull defuser when spike is about to KABOOM
5. It can pull a person reviving kayo or a sage reviving.
I’d say only 2,3 and 4 are useful scenarios for the ult.
@@kreapys8096pulling a viper out of ult isn't useful?
@@xaenon6818 I mean it can certainly be used for that, but generally I’d prefer to save the ult for post-plant and have my initator find the Viper.
So , what happens if no one wins the duel? i didn't get that part, does the ult just get wasted? or what? o.O
How I would fix him: ult gives iso +15 shield, double tap lasts longer and cannot be shot by enemies, and the shield has 150 health added when double tap is active, but if one damage instance clears all 150 extra health then the shield will take the damage and you will not take the rest of the damage, the wall will make contact with enemys, and push them back, but whenever a wall is touching a player pushing him back then it will have a certain amount of durability that will drain when it colides with players
the ult is gonna be op if u know someone is hiding with a judge close by u basically cant lose unless u whiff badly
That's cool how it even grabbed breach out of heaven on haven!
Yoru : finally a worthy troll our battle will be legendary
HOLY, MATCHES MY PLAYSTYLE ALOT, LOVE THIS AGENT
what happens if iso ults and ulting kayo and wins the duel? does kayo spawn back and can get revived?
Yeah, I was thinking the same - my primary concern though, is if he is fun. To me, having to shoot the extra bullet against a random flying target above, *could* ruin the gameplay for me personally.
i think he needs either a flash or movement ability like jett dash or chamber tp
another ult contingency worth mentioning, is you can trap a yoru clone in it thus completely wasting the ult.
I think it's interesting that your gun shooting speed and reloading time is faster just like Reyna ult. Also you could avoid an incoming killjoy ult with his hot like teleporting cancelling with omen.
Is it just me, or does Iso’s double tab orb when it spawns… it sometimes does not spawn directly above the killed agent? 🤔
Yea, is that true?
It spawns a little left or right sometimes.
What if u take some one into ult in a 1v1 and time to defuse is low for diffuser
the only thing that will get nerfed if anything is Double Tap. the fact the timer gets refreshed after every shield you get and you get 2 charges of it either let the time run out regardless of how many shields you get and keep the 2 charges or keep it how it is now and only keep it at one charge. It's like reyna's ult refresh after every kill but it's a basic ability and you get two chances.
The E is good if the trader is closer to the enemy's corpse than you are because they would have to adjust their mouse more than you do
The E can be countered by double headshots by guns that deal more than 150/hs
The C cannot be effective when used on its own, it's better to be paired with a side-facing wall like harbor, viper, or neon
with this strat, you can take space when entering a map without getting seen, and you have time to stack up behind the wall before it drops (only effective in maps where harbour has seen a lot of play, like breeze, split, bind)
alternatively, the wall can provide cover on its own without any additional abilities, but would be most useful in neutral parts of the map where neither team has control of, like Pearl A long
The Q should be used the same as an Omen flash, doesn't give the same advantage as a blind, but it makes the kill easier anyway
The X is basically a gulag, but it gives the Iso the advantage of displacing himself to an off angle before the barriers drop so the enemy would have to adjust his crosshair accordingly
Iso isn't overpowered, in fact, none of the agents (since chamber, or maybe harbour) have been OP, Ignorant people always make claims that "oh this agent is going to be OP" blah blah blah, this happens when every agent has been teased including Yoru and Deadlock, so don't take it so seriously having to explain that it's not the case, because they would soon find out anyways
For pro play, play making with an op is considered the highest priority so I feel pro players/coaches are tempering expectations. But for agressive teams from APAC and Chinese region would love it imo. In my mind im like its made for ppl like scream, something even yay who are so precise with their aim and very great rifling.
What if double tap when u kill a person you get a orb but if it runs out you'll get a sheild the time duration would like be 1.5 seconds. You can shoot this orb but your crosshair placement will be off
Wait if you do the iso sheild after kill will u survive the spike denotation!?!?!?!?
you can use the ulti also when the enemy is 2 secs into the defuse
Would it be basically a guaranteed kill if iso has an op in the ult?
only thing i think they will change might be prices for his util
I want to know if abilities can go thought contingency wall.
i thought they said that if you already activated an ability it would carry over to the ult. Like if Neon was to ult before she got dragged in she would still be in her ult in Iso's ult?
No, when an enemy is pulled into the ult they will get instantly suppressed. So no Neon ult, no Jett ult etc. The only util that will carry forward is Iso’s util. For example, you can make them vulnerable with your Q or get your shield first before ulting, so that you can maximise your advantage in your ult.
i love how everytime a new agents comes out the community starts with the "broke agent" almost immediately. great video btw
How does double tap interact with Deadlock ult?
If you are able to get a shield and use ultimate on an enemy with an operator, you pretty much kill the enemy because even if you got hit, you will be tanking the op and kill them back right after
okay so with Neon, Iso and breach
u can enter site without hesitation
like neon's wall, breach' ult and iso' ult/bulletproof wall
As someone who played more than 50 games with iso, I can definitely say that iso + odin is just massacre. Undercut to make them vulnerable and then odin spam works wonders.
As for ult u can take advantage if enemy is camping or u are in 1v1 attacking, u can just go far and as some u hear defusing u can use ult to keep him from defusing. Iso is pretty op if u use it right.
His ult will be busted in 1v1s when bomb is down, just like deadlock, its just a free win, cause you just have get them in it, even if you lose the 1v1 they will have no time to defuse.
I agree with everything said in the video, however the ult is stronger than you think, because if you are a little smart about it, you can easily guarantee the trade/kill on the person that got taken into the ult.
can you throw abilities through the wall
as a sova main, i already dread of hunters fury being ulted
Can omen ult out of isos ult and just have him killhimself practically?
