Adam is an example of success not by wishing, but from hard work, bravely done. If i could do a Back to the Future time travel, I would tell this Adam to keep the faith. That his gamble would pay off. And it would all work out like a Disney movie.
I've been watching your videos for years and now i'm 35 and in the same place you were during this video. I paid off my vehicle, i'm single, no attachments and i'm living in a camper. I only have the necessities. I'm lovin it! I'm saving to open my own barbershop

I lived in a travel trailer for 8 years, not a van, mind you, but I lived on the road. It saved me a lot of money, and I have great stories and memories to go with that time in my life. 👍🏻
I came here from your 10 year to the day anniversary video you just posted ,I found you about 3-4 years ago it's awesome you were brave enough to live you're dream of traveling ,I was able to for 2 years made it to 44 states saw some beautiful things thank you for all that you do and the places I haven't been that you have and have showed me
I do not have what I do not need- belongings hold you down- When the things you own, own you- ahhh it feels good to be free

I hope you keep living your dream and it gives you want you want in return. Too many of us, me included, end up stuck in the rat race unhappy and lonely. You are proof that it doesn't have to be that way. We might all not be able to follow you physically but following you vicariously gives us hope and sharing your adventures helps us to 'live' too in a small way

I am downsizing my house stuff, so I can live simpler and live the van life. 👏👍👏
I just watched the documentary that Kenny Johnson did and here I thought I couldn't love Adam any more. Can't wait to show my husband later. He and I have been following for quite some time and just dig all of what you do. Sir, you are an artist and an inspiration (and even a little insane ;) I mean that with the UPMOST respect. You are living life with intention: loud and generous, and I only hope that we can raise our kids to have the same love for life.
This entire story of yours really resonated with us, as a close friend of ours sold and donated all of his possessions (and gave up his apartment) last year to leave Canada and travel the world solo at age 38. One day he just decided that there had to be "more" for him out there. He has experienced so much and even met and followed (I swear it's not as creepy as it sounds) a girl he met in South America to Germany! They are now dating and live in Russia (where she is originally from) and they continue to have adventures together. Keep up the amazing work, Adam!
hey Woo, going back, doing a Woo-a-thon if u will. I subscribed to TDW a few weeks before you left CA this time last year. then I got my brother hip to TDW and we watching every day at lunch time. wanted to tell u that your channel has brought an otherwise boring 45 min lunch, to a, 'let's Woo', as soon as I walk though the door thing. keep on trucking man, we have put a little Goodie bag for you when u come through MD again come by ,hang, w/ good eats!!! don't worry about parking. holler!!

I had to live in my car it wasn't a choice. I was renting a roomI had a gym membership to take showers and went to the laundromat. The worst part was that it was so cold. It was winter when I started.
Wait how come you had to live in your car if you were renting a room ? Or did you mean you couldn't afford the room anymore so you moved into your car when you stopped renting the room ? Either way there was a period of time when I couldn't afford to pay rent any longer and I had to live in my car too and let me tell you it was the WORST !! Nothing more boring than being stuck inside your car all and night. Especially when you can't drive anywhere cause you have no gas money lol. I do not miss those days at all. ;)
@@JNC1973 They had a huge snake. They fed it mice and rats. It got lose in the house. Turns out it was in the room that I rented. It almost attacked me. And if that wasn't enough they got a Rottweiler and Pit Bull without introducing me to them. The pit was used for fighting, before taking him in. Don't get me wrong I love Rotties and Pits. But these were dangerous. And clearly were gonna attack me when I got home if it wasn't for another roommate. So I got to my room and moved out. By the way of my room window. My roommate came outside, I gave him my keys told him to give them to the couple who rented the room to me and never went back again. But yea it sucked living in my 95 haundi Excel hatchback. I'll never forget how cold it was, all I had was a handmade wool blanket my mom made. Which was made with gapping holes. It was in northern NJ in the mountains. I'm glad we are both out of that situation.

Love going back and watching this and seeing how far you have come 🖤 your living my dream life I always said when I was a kid I want a campervan so I can just travel around with all my dogs 😂 didn't need no friends or family just my dogs and I would be happy 🤣
id live like that too but no van....only a car & no way to stretch out to sleep! Plus I'm a bit older than Adam....I did sleep in my '54 Panel truck in 1977 & '78 but I was younger & it was freakin cold in the winter. I had a home electric heater and would pull up to an apartment bldg. and plug into a tenent's outside plug to keep the heater going. When it got too hot, my dog would tip the heater over & the safety switch would turn it off! damn dog. Good for you Adam. Keep doin what you love to do.

That van has noooo idea of all the adventures to be had! I accidentally found this video whilst trying to find the infamous sunglasses that you don. I admire you. You took your dream and made it real. So many of us keep saying, " someday." Your "someday" turned into reality in Dec of 2010. Much respect Adam.
If I didn't have so much stuff for my business... I might be able to do what you are doing.. I would:
1. Rent a storage room for my stuff that I want to keep.
2. Make my van much like yours with tinted glass.
3. Get a P.O. Box for my mail.
4. Find a Walmart parking lot, Park & Ride, or a rest stop, hospital, or any other place where I can park & sleep.. and alternate from place to place.
5. I have a membership to Planet Fitness.. 20 bucks a month I can work out, and shower at any location, 24/7
6. laundry mat to wash my cloths.
7. wifi at McDonalds, or Starbucks..
8. take out the front passenger seat and replace with a coleman stove, & a mini fridge.
9. I've already used couch cushions (3) to use as a bed on the flat board that I have in my van that I converted to a hauling truck... after I ripped out the rear seats.. I can also keep a laundry basket in the back, and put it up front and cover the stove..
10.. chill.. :-)
It's been about 5 years since you posted this video.. I'd like to know how you managed since then... I really enjoy your videos.. fun stuff to watch!

You can tell you shot this so unscripted, and all from the heart. I've shared this video many times on my Facebook page. I have your channel on my homepage as channels I love. You were so nice to my son, and I at the back to the future mall. My son has been playing baseball since he was 5, and just started his first year of high school, and made the high school baseball team. We know how much you love baseball. When my son met you he was 12, and said how nice you were to him at the meet up. Thank you Adam!!!

All these years and no one has mentioned the title of the song by The New Threat? It's called "The Days" in case anyone was wondering...
I would love to do this, but right its impossible due to not having a big enough vehicle and the money to do so. If I had good credit, (which I don't) a nice RV with a bed, a toilet and a kitchenette would work nicely. I'd travel everywhere and enjoy everything. Oh and for the record you could have kept most or all of your DVD's just by tossing the case and keeping the disc in a CD holder. Its what I do with all of mine.

Very smart not becoming a slave to the things you own---we downsized by buying a small foreclosed home , and sold anything we did not need, or donated it. We live simply and pay cash for everything---no morgage either--paid 28,000 for our home. Stay strong and follow what you love.....
When I get older...I'm gonna be like Adam! Its amazing what he does and I idolize the guy. Most people say not to be nozy(my dad) but curiosity gets the best of me 100% of the time and thats why Ive been grounded numerous times!!! But I mean that seems like an amazing and fun thing to do so when I graduate I'm gonna hit the road
You can only do what is right for you! Just live your life as you see fit. Forget the adversity, which it seems you have! Bravo! Some people go to Europe and back pack for years,with only what they carry on their backs! you are doing the same thing, except here in the states! Color me Jealous! Good luck Adam . I spent quite a few years living in a big van in the UK working for various employment agencies. I'd sleep in laybys and pull ins at night or outside the factories where I worked. I joined a gym for the showers and had a chemical toilet and a gas stove . Great life in the summer not so hot (literally) in the fall and winter.

I'm in high school and I'm thinking of taking this route. Except i'd like to live in something roomier and more comfortable, like an RV. It's my dream to travel the country, and the world. doing this plus starting a TH-cam channel (another big dream) would really make me happy in life. They say live life how you want to live it... You truly inspired me to do that. Thank You.

I wish I could go back 10 years ago.
That's the exact thought I have (when revisiting videos from a time gone by). This was Dec 11, 2010-----and I know exactly what I was doing and who I was with. It goes without saying that I'd rather be there. To get all of that time back...and right some wrongs.
If I had known that they'd one day be regarded as "the good ole days"----I would've slowed down and savored them a bit more (as opposed to rushing on through them so as to get to the future). Well, I'm in that future.... and I want to go back to the past. Yes, the very same past that I couldn't wait to get on through.
01/18/2017................Man it's been a long time. Amazing how things have worked out my friend . Only wish I could have gotten my hands on the Woo Van when you sold it. It would look good beside the General Lee and the Bat Mobile in some roadside museum. Rock on buddy. Keep making your daddy proud.

I've been living in my camper for 9 months. there's a lot of snobs you encounter doing this. for instance as I write this got a discrimination look from same guy twice who chose to park in front of me. most assume you live in a van here if you drive one no matter how wealthy you look and dress. most dislike us.
it's tiring sometimes And sometimes shady strangers come around. But it's a wild experience

Just a few days ago I thought to myself I wonder how Adam's career started I wondered how you got to where your at and how someone can just decide to start going fulltime vlogger and not have to take care of life's challenges with bills money etc...and now I'm seeing this video. No u would not. I am a truck driver, I fucking hate being away from my place, girl, and things. Something out there on the road especially in certain areas really puts you in a bad foul mood, Not only that put showering in truck stops sucks also. Lifestyle sucks and is hard,
***** Australia doesn't really have truck stops, there's camping portable showers or caravan park showers, I go camping all the time and don't have a GF and I'm not close to family I like being alone.
The only thing I'd hate is the Australian summer and no AC.
I also wouldn't use a little van I'd buy a larger mobile home, not a huge RV but something mid sized with a kitchen.
Yeah, He doesn't answer to an alarm clock, a time clock, a boss, a manager, or a supervisor.
Sorry mate but you don't know what your talking about, there are Truckstops, Roadhouses, Travel centres everywhere, that have facilities that travellers can use, I doubt you have ever travelled in Oz mate
Drop Bear I didn't say we don't have travelling facilities, I'm talking about traditional American style Truck stops.
Looking at Google maps we have a grand total of 12 that's not a lot.

You should download your movies on a harddrive. Get a 2tb. Harddrive and you can have thousands of movies and TV shows

Hi Adam, Just a word of support. If this is what you want to do, and it makes you happy, then that's all that matters. Like you said, maybe one day you'll decide that you don't want to do it anymore. The Keys are so expensive and with perspective and preparation this can be a great spring board towards ones life goals. I did this but lost my perspective and got a bit desperate at the end of the six months that I did it. I have a full time job and a life time membership at a national gym. The heat is my only buggaboo, sleeping hot is tough, cold is OK with the right bag. I wish you had talked about staying clean, maybe I missed it or it's in another video. I really liked this one. Thank you
