- In this video I show how to replace the deck belt on your TB30 Troy-Bilt rear engine riding lawnmower. It's a very easy job that looks harder than it really is. The mower shown in the video is model number 13A726JD066 Built in 1/2020. You might want to check your particular part number against mine to make sure this part number will fit. I usually use www.partstree.com as they have an excellent website. My part number is:954-05001. It's 1/2" x 43.5". I would use one that's the same dimensions.
Here's one that's reasonable that's the same dimensions as the OEM:

Thanks so much for your advice. Was very easy. Not many others have posted on this same mower- belt replacement. From what I can see most have no idea how to do this. Some look like they are taking the mower half apart. Again thank you
TYSM for the great feedback! I really appreciate it.. 😊
Thanks for the video some other guy took the deck off for the same belt you are a lifesaver

Thanks so much for video you make it look so simple
You're welcome! With the magic of editing I can make even the hardest task look simple... 😊
Nothing is bent , the spring just allows it to move upward !
It'd be really difficult to say without being able to see it in action....
Would it be possible that you could do a video on this same mower replacing the deck mine has rusted out. This was a very nice video
Thank you for the great feedback! I really appreciate it.. Unfortunately I don't have access to that mower any longer..
Yes, they are all the same mower built by MTD.
!
Yep!
Even after replacing the blade mine does not seem to cut grass well at all. Is there a clutch that I should be looking at in the deck or is it possible the belt is just slipping?
HI, no this one doesn't have an electric PTO. When the engine is shut off, engage the blade and then grab hold of it to see if it seems loose. The deck should make a certain sound when the blade is running a good speed. You should be able to hear it if its slowing down..
I have a cub cadet cc30h , and every time I disengage the blade ; the belt comes out from behind the keeper and off the pulley ! I have to get off the mower , take off the keeper , place the belt where it goes , and replace the keeper ! Why do you think it won't stay in place ?
Yikes! No that's no good... Most of those decks have a brake so that when you disengage it the blades will stop pretty quickly. If the brake isn't working and the deck is just spinning for 10 seconds after being disengaged that could cause the belt to come off.. It's really hard to say without me being able to see it in front of me..
I think the blade stops pretty quick ! It looks to me that the idler pulley sits at upward angle ! I've tried to make it level but not sure how !
Oh ok... Does it seem like something is bent?
My belt keeps slipping out of the idler pulley. Yes the I install the belt holder pin.
Nevermind I figured out what happened.
Excellent! Glad you got it going again.
@@benreifhardt4471what happened?
@@p00ner there is a little metal arm that keeps the mower deck from dropping down to much. It broke. I welded it back together and now everything works great
I have the same mower and bought the exact belt and it will not fit. Not even close. Its like the belt is an inch short.
HI, I usually recommend to check the model number of your exact mower and confirm what the part number is for your application. IF you did that and it's still wrong then the only possibilities are the belt is routed wrong, or they sent you the wrong belt.
