I have been waiting for someone to do a review of the YSL Reversible Kate! 🙌. I have this bag and I am in love with the suede, but like you, I don’t like the leather side. As for the wear and tear issue, I ordered a bag insert on Etsy that fits the reversible Kate perfectly and provides both a nice structure, but also helps ensure that the inside won’t be ruined by everyday use. Finally, I actually also bought the YSL Suede College as a potential replacement for the Kate, but returned it because the color of the College was too muted and boring in comparison to the Kate’s stunning rich color 😍.

I have the YSL in black. It’s a gorgeous bag. You can totally remove the handle. It’s roomy but the bag doesn’t stay closed very well when the bag is full.

Love both of these bags. That ysl suede color is so yummy! I am petite so I think, I'd like a smaller version of it; if I won the lottery. lol. The reversible feature is so fun.
I adore the Chole Mini Tess bag! It's a classic, beautiful and practical in terms of size and that you can wear it cross-body or by the top-handle. The YSL is nice and the reversible feature is great to give you options, however...it doesn't look like it will hold it's shape over time. Secondly, what if you are wearing it with the suede side inside and get it dirty (it happens to many bags when you are constantly putting things in and taking them out), you may not be able to use it both ways then.

I totally agree that the leather looks cheap. I can also imagine myself ruining the leather by adding keys and other things. I think you should return the YSL.
