While listening to this, I'm imagining Gura with her head and arm stuck in a diving cage like what happens to some unfortunate sharks.
I imagine that this whole song takes place as the origin story for Gura's tail stitches, as she said that she got them after her tail got caught underneath a rock she couldn't move
I like to imagine instead of Gura's soul trying to help her (like Sonic's soul helps him by keeping him alive), the soul's just like "Haha learn to swim stoopid"

Here's my head canon about what happened in this take.
Realizing that Gura forgot her trident back at Atlantis, she dove back to her home to get it. But when she got to Atlantis, nothing was left except a red trident. Thinking that someone dropped it and feeling nice enough to return it to the person that dropped it, she went to go pick it up. But instead, the trident took itself out and stabbed her shark tail, having another stab the same tail to take away her aid in swimming. Knowing that none of her friends from Atlantis will no longer help her, she She struggles valiantly to remove the trident. The only problem is that it was wedged not just into her tail, but through it and into the stone. Struggling to find any air bubbles, like how Sonic would get more oxygen while underwater, she only found stone, seaweed, and coral. Deep within her is now the panic and terror of running out of oxygen. Knowing that she bared more human resemblance than shark resemblance, she doesn't bare gills and feels herself suffocating. But after she dies due to drowning, she is miraculously, at first, brought back from the brink of death. But this miracle was a curse in disguise. Doomed to drown infinitely, all she can really do is wait until someone, somehow, comes across her and aids her. Until then, her suffering in the aquatic hell she returned to to retrieve her trident only to find her kindness would be her downfall begins with no stop in sight.

so epic, im gonna make this playable in some way (with a little fix)
Honestly the plot for this one is an easy fix. Gura got her bite mark in her tail from getting it pinned under a boulder and taking desperate measures to free herself. Either that or it was mating season. You can work with both options.
