  • This year, a Canada Day event in Surrey focused on celebrating the country's inclusive and diverse communities. It included everything from rides and performances to Indigenous-led cultural activities.

If I hear some people say "cancel Canada Day" just because of some negative history in this country, let me get this straight, no country is perfect, if you like to cancel it, please move to North Korea, Iran, Russia, and Communist China, they are more than welcome you over there, good luck.

No one is trying to cancel it, it’s called truth and reconciliation, it means to tell the truth and reconcile, make right that does comply. It’s people like you who want to bury the truth in cold graves like the innocent children that we are finally finding today. You should be the one to leave Canada. Shame on you for being so insensitive and crude to a group of people who have had such injustice since the start of Canada or as I see it the start of indigenous genocide. Maybe you should read a book instead of citing ridiculous phrases you found on internet. “Cancel them.”

Happy Canada day to the original people of the land, the indigenous people who were marginalized from society and experienced genocide without any justice. May they find peace again. Maybe next year there will be progress and natives will be invited to the event.

Reconciliation, awareness, wearing orange, and celebrating the native culture I agree with and understand...
But WHY release thousands of orange balloons? What does that prove? All that does is pollute and endanger wildlife. There was most definitely a better way to "send a message" than sending pollution into nature.

How come a Shicksa(Jenna Kuzemski) is the one to tell us what we are supposed to believe.

No point in celebrating in a country where a specific region now SEGREGATES its population by LANGUAGES=DISGUSTING that NO ONE talks about it.

Reconciliation without talking to them or acknowledging them... So sad. No reconciliation possible.
