    I usually take off the bearing carrier, put the shaft in and snap the hex back on. Then I install the bearing carrier and attach the drive shaft to the diff.
    Haven't thought if it before but next time I'll just put two of those blue wheel inserts/spacers on and tighten the nut till the hex snaps in place.
    Kudos for getting the grub screws out. I always take the arms off.

    To snap your hex back i have 2 tips.
    First is use a hollow 17 wheel hex wrench to push the hex in while holding the back.
    Second install the wheel making sure the hex is aligned with the pin and hold the back as you tighten the wheel nut, if everything is aligned it’ll just snap in as you tighten the wheel nut.

    You have to remove your bumper to get a better angle at your grub screws! Also to snap your hex bolt back on, I found it easier to screw the nut all the way on without the wheel on to set the hex bolt on the pin! That's what I did on my maxx when I put on my widemaxx!

    broke a front & rear driveshaft on my maxx so i replaced them with some very similar to these and they have held up great so far, thought ive had to replace the rear hubs because they now wear faster, thought they are only 6 bucks thats something to watch out for, other than that they work great!

    I have a trick take off the bumpers, suspension arms and shocks then you have a perfect line of sight to the grub screw takes 1 minute to get a good line of sight to the grub screw

      The bumper part sounds easy enough but it sounds like a pain to remove the arms

    60 bones, better of saving a few more dollars and get the high velocity hardened steel, they are made for the v2, and the regular widemaxx install on v1. Major improvements in handling and instant power, definitely worth the money

  • @jacobwhittaker6241
    @jacobwhittaker6241 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    easiest wat to do it is to remove screws for skid plate and the one on top for the front bumper. once all those are removed it comes apart as an assembly. then can take the front screw off that retains the lower arm pins and the arms fall out revealing easy access to the diff.

      @@RCKnockout It's the same for the rear. The wheelie bar is only mounted to the bumper and skid plate so like the front it comes off as a while assembly.

    I wonder if these would be long enough for the wide maxx?. If you don't want to push so hard on that hex to wrestle it on just run a nut down on your axle bro the nut will force the hex on.

    I only have one RC that has driveshafts with those spring retainers. Worst design i ever seen. I soldered one in but when i was reinstalling it i came up with a better idea. The RC is a 3s line Typhon. I bought it used and had a lot of "upgrade" parts and the driveshafts were the spring retainer style. I am waiting on outdrives as i am installing a 6s line rear driveshaft set. Everything is working well as far as fitment goes. If i was able to use the entire 6s rear diff and axles, it would be no issue, but the 6s line diff wont work. Literally the only thing currently keeping the 6s line driveshafts from working is outdrives off the 3s differential. The outdrives may need drilled but that is literally the only thing holding me up right now.

    • @RCKnockout
      @RCKnockout  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree….spring retainers are a bad design…Well hopefully you get that all sorted out…..I didn’t realize there even was a Typhon 3s?
