one of the all-time greatest training performances by Criquette Head here, bringing Treve back to peak form after having lost all three of her previous races that season.
This was by far the most breathtaking race of 2014 for me.. it's so awesome to re-live.. and I'm made up I kept the faith with her and got weighed-in at 11/1 on the day and 9/2 before the Vermeille.. Her trainer told everyone before the big day that she'd seen that old spark on the gallops and to expect a big-run.. You could tell in the Vermeille she had an easy race and was being saved, the owner could easily have retired her but chose to race her for a reason, and once she got a beautiful draw, plus the jockey she knows best on board.. I knew it was curtains.. but the bookies where the real winners, because they fooled everyone by pushing her price out.. You just have to look deeper I guess :)
I couldnt agree more with all this, I started backing for the Arc just after xmas and kept the faith all the way, i knew that come the day if shes anywhere close to 2013 win she will win no problem, horse of a lifetime just hope she makes the 2015 running
Shane Ketteridge Well done bro, it's sweet when your faith is rewarded like that. And unless there's a new monster on the horizon i.e perhaps Golden Horn if he wins the Dante.. I think it's wide open for her to make history, and 6/1 could be decent.. but I won't be rushing in until we see how she is; mares are temperamental creatures and she needs to prove the fire still burns come her reappearance over the summer. Goodluck!
Treve changed my life. What a filly she was.
