GOOD LORD, HE’S STILL WITH US
Hallelujah!
he's like My vanoss of forest part of youtube
Definitely my cat's favourite episode so far🐈⬛
I needed a dose of aesthetics today, thanks Alfie
The legend is BACK!!! As the years ticked by, I patiently kept waiting... Until one day, he emerges!

14:56 this is the alfie we always knew, those hard hitting one liners delivered with the straightest voice
I live in the United States and we also have foxes, barn owls., badgers, bears and wolves. We also have our own woodcock species that makes a sound similar to the first sound of the one shown here. Our native deer species, the whitetail, just emits grunts and snorts. Females make bleating sounds and the fawns sound somewhat like a baby or toddler yelling, so sometimes people will ask Google about the sound they heard at night in a rural area. One of the strangest nighttime sounds (and one you’ve probably heard too since they also live in Europe, though that species is different) is the blood-curdling tortured screams of rabbits as they’re being chased, carried off and eaten by either a fox or an owl, in which case you’re likely to hear the calls of those animals followed by silence, and then a sudden distressed rabbit call. There are other sounds (bobcat, puma, coyote, raccoon, skunk, etc) that are frightening to those unfamiliar with the sounds those animals make.
Hiked a section of the Appalachian trail in Kentucky back in 2017. Made camp, settled down for the night, all was well…until 9pm when the strangest sound I’d ever heard started. Flicked through my mental Rolodex and came up blank…didn’t sleep a wink, fully expecting a skinwalker to come over and eat me like the human taco I was (hammock camped).
Wasn’t until a few years later I first heard an elk on tv…brought all the terror I’d felt that night back to me in an instant 😂
Lot of work went into this one Alfie! love your work friend.
Good to have you back dude, was thinking about your vids during covid a lot
Your videos always bring peace and enjoyment.
Brilliant film, informative and hilarious in equal measure. Well done Alfie top notch.
Alfie's show in BBC would convince me to start watching TV (and paying for the licence). Imagine him rising to prominence of Sir Attenborough.
This is an underappreciated AlfieAesthetics gem of a video.
I started watching you when I was 12, I’m 18 now and you’re finally posting again!
Bless you, Alfie, for gracing us with new videos!
A true treat for a Sunday evening. thank you.
The deer whine is absolutely adorable 🥺
Thanks Alfie glad to see you creating again...
Im glad to see u posting again missed your videos
Informational
ps: deer has a special scream sound too in mating season,
and foxes has stranges scream too, and Grey heron, especialy Grey heron and foxes in west norway makes scream sounds, usually Grey heron only scream if it feels scared tho :) this year in march and april its mating season for owl`s and they talked nicely to each other :D safety tip about badger: old trick in norway was to haev coal in boots because if badger attack the bite and dont let go before braking bone :) awesomee video and Great quality on animal sounds
I’ve lived remotely in the U.K. countryside for nearly 70 years, I know most of those sounds, but not who made them! Thank you, don’t stop doing what you do, we never stop learning. Never met an aggressive muntjac, they are so secretive. Antlers are a noise of the rut that is very ‘un-animal’
Brilliant video and, my god, those are some weird and disturbing sounds! To be honest though, I think that complete silence would be more unnerving!
I've been familiar with fox sounds for decades (or so I thought) and never more so than where I live in London, being used to the sound of foxes taking over the street every night. It's taken a few years of getting used to but, I can now sleep through their nightly performance of screams and barks.
I've never heard them laughing though but, many years ago, leaving a party in the middle of nowhere with an extremely stubborn and very, very drunk partner, I could not convince him that he was walking off in the wrong direction to where we needed to go. Reluctantly, I went after him as he stumbled down a pitch black country lane because I was worried that he might end up lost, or in a ditch, or whatever. Fortunately, we hadn't gone far when the night air was filled with the sound of a loud, mocking cackle. To me, it sounded like we had probably just woken up a crow or something but, to my partner, it was the satanic laughter of some unseen witch. Unsurprisingly, he immediately suggested that we should turn around and go in the direction that I had originally suggested!
For years, I was convinced that it was a bird and recognising the sound from the clip that you played at the start of your video, I was eager to find out. Whether it was a bird, a fox or, even a witch that we heard that night, I could not have felt more grateful. I was not looking forward to trudging miles, heading for god knows where, till sun up, and then, having to trudge all the way back to go the right way home!😂
im so glad hes back
This is the most informative wild camping video ever.
No mention of Bigfoot? 😂😂 Thanks for the video
Not in the UK...yet
Outstanding video! I wish I was getting notifications for your channel!
The owl is broken? …. Hahahahaha
I’m happy you’re back. I enjoyed your videos so much….and based on the comments it looks like, I’m not the only one.
thank you Alfie, we have missed you! you’re delivering awesome content as always
OMG, your truly one of the first people I ever subscribed to. Thank you so much for your videos. You truly made my weekend, I'm so happy you made another video. Hope your back to stay. God bless.
love this guys work !
Your videos got me into this and you need to do more, as I’m camping at the moment, as I watch this 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you're uploading again 👍 snd thanks ,Those sounds I heard after a case of PBR , were probably deer ,not a Sasquatch😂😂
Excellent content and entertaining! I had to share this with my grandkids! Thanks!
It's more concerning when all the calls cease at once 😮😂
Interestingly the nightingale in my country sings a bit differently. The notes are the same but the song is different. It's like they learn the songs by listening to their nearby friends.
You can't surprise me with deer noises. DayZ taught me well. Funny enough, they use both of the deer audio files that you shared haha
AHHHH-MAZING!!! This video was GREAT and super informative. Thank you.
Nice, explains why I was young I always thought there was a hagge seems it's a fox, could save me alot of worries.
I finally know what those noises are. I must have tawny owls living nearby!!!
What a fantastic idea for a video! I hope I never hear most of these magical sounds when Im out camping. If I do, I really hope I remember what I learned today. I definetely will not though and will draw the most horrifying conclusions..
Another class video. Really enjoyed it.
Your videos always make my day and I really look forward to them!
Good god, this is the best year ever. Back to back to back to back Aesthetic videos
Gorgeous photos. Thanks Alfie 😁
This was so interesting. I’ve never imagined how many unique sounds can come from otherwise “ordinary” animals.
My goodness, this is most majestic alfie dropping the content we need!
Great video,
Most informative
colection of nature,
Sounds and Souls
A proud fan sends their regards. Thank you for giving us the knowledge to seize the forest! We welcome you with open arms, Alfie.
you hooked me at "Cannibal Hill Billies,' I grew up in a rural area of NA so not many of these sounds were new to me but still a great video.
Great to see you back uploading geezer.
Majestic footage! Most glorious sounds!
last few videos have definitively been worth the six year wait
So glad ur back
Deer are a lot more vocal than I realized. 😂
Thanks
I know the sound of the long eared owl very well, as in a patch of trees around the neighbourhood every spring there's a pair that makes a nest. When the young grow up you can hear the different calls move through the different areas.
No camp..
Home is nice and warm..😂😂
Love you Alfieeeee xx
Welcome back Alfie! Thank you for the very useful video, elk and fox vocalizations are terrifying at night if you don't know this!
THAT deer was a hippo in its dreams
Always nice to see you're still around!
Though I've not made it through the whole video yet, I'm curious to know what an Alfie call might sound like? :P
Very informative but this still wont make me less likely to piss myself
FFS Alfie is back,, 😍😍😍
Welcome back where have you been? 🥰
thank you fpr another wonderful video. pls dont die again we will all cry
Woodcock sounds like a Music Beat
This is surprisingly helpful, by learning these I won't shit myself when outdoors at night. (I will anyway)
First time I heard a vixen was when I was put camping with my scout camp. Scared the shit out of us until the leader informed us that someone wasn't getting stabbed, it was just a really horny fox
Or, it could be, JIGSAW! 😂
Had to wait till morning to watch this, my farm dog was going mental 🤣
Another great one.
As nicely as Alfie does all his survival videos which are always fun to watch and informative, it is crazy for me to realise that... I just cannot unhear it now: these nocturnal animals, all of them are just producing instrumental samples for dubstep and DnB, I bet that even the BPM is matching it so... so next time you are camping somewhere deep in the woods, make sure to bring a proper sound system with ya to leave it behind, and who knows, maybe you will save a lot of animals who would have otherwise hunt each other and instead as those sounds fade away, you might have a night filled with some proper music
Awesome love your content and you just keep getting better
Excellent video.
Omg! Squirrel sound very similar to our Australian brush tail possum!
Although I'm pretty sure possums are louder 🤣♥️
Me and the boy were in the garden the other night and we heard this horrific screech and we were like WTF was that😳 Low and behold one of your video pops up to explain it all, it was the the screech of the barn owl Scary😂
Cheers dude 👍🤘🤟
This is a fascinating video, mate. Thank you.
At this point Alfie definitely speaks their languages so good to see a local translator giving us advice .
2024 is the best TH-cam year ever! ❤
Love this.
Also, hate that TV shows use the same fox sound for all night scenes. Also using the wrong bird call when trying to represent a buzzard.
Aha remember my 1st solo wildcamp. Fox terrified me in the middle o the night had the knife out n everything
Glorious most laborious editorialists 😊
This is way cool !
Dude you are alive!
🌸 2:43 screaming oh shit
3:14 3:22 Cackling laughter, my eyes 👀
3:48 crying baby 😳
7:50 7:58 That’s it, I’m gone that sounds like the devil himself is after me
How can something that small & cute sound so evil ?
9:31 oh Jesus 😱
oh heck noooo, well it can frig!n keep the forest at that stage, as I will be running out of the woods past the psycho hiding behind the tree 😳
After hearing the female vixen scream & those younger foxes laughing & rest
Bloody hell I’d shit myself while running for my life 😂🤣
The rustling you hear is my running faster than any man, heck my feet will not touch the ground, no way I am staying the night 😨
Aussie "Lyrebirds" mimic sounds. From chainsaws to alarm clocks.
I kept hearing a growling sound in the woods at night that sounded like a sasquatch. Guaranteed to raise every hair on your neck straight out. I assumed it was a buck since its the biggest thing that could be out there. Nope. Gray fox. I had to laugh when I saw one growl at me. Tiny little gray fox.
For everyone, 2 more sounds to panic about at night:
1)Wind scraping grass/leaves onto your tent - I swear, at times, when the wind picked up, the scraping on my tent wall sounded like a rabbit or a guy sneaking around me (I hadn't figured it was the grass right away😅).
2)Flippin' HUNTERS - They were looking for the fore-mentioned rabbits, they got pretty close too, figured I'd get shot through the tent ☠ (Why would they hunt at 1:15 in the morning??).
Where are you btw love to see a gear tour again plz 🙏
The muntjac sounds like the growl/bark of a fox.
Btw, it reminds me the old Encyclopedia Encarta haha!
Seems like our boi is still with us!!!!!
Good to hear from you again mate.👍🏻😁👍🏻
The end got me😂😂😂
Wait are snipes actually a real bird? Here in the us we have imaginary "snipe hunts" to mess with kids.
Oh man I got some info. Snipe is a "type" of bird. Basically a fast flying hard to shoot game bird colloquialism. We have a few in the USA. But the cool part, other than the fact they were mostly wading birds that fly off when flushed, is that they required truly expert marksman to hit them. Well if your job or skill is at a mill, you're a Miller, shoe maker or repair? Cobbler. Good at shooting a fast moving small target game bird called a snipe? Sniper. So the ubiquitous term of sniper, with all its merits, is attributed to the successful hunt of a game bird. Also, I'm pretty sure, but not too confident, that the american woodcock was considered a snipe. Woodcock, timberdoodle, or bogsucker are some names it went by. Probably the main snipe hunted that provided the sniper designation in the USA. In conclusion, the word sniper comes from a bunch skilled hunters who could shoot a bird named with currently phallic terminology. Sniper= flying d*ck shooter.
This is a very enjoyable video thank you
2 sounds I don't like while camping. Human voices & footsteps.
Brightened my day, top tier content
Looney tunes, you set them all off here,I need dark towels to quiet them down, the sound was low but I guess it was the tone and vibe, always great, thanks and greetings
This was unexpected but very welcome
Lol Jigsaw
i need to find a list like of American animals we have deer and fox over here that sound the same but also have porcupine that sound a bit like high pitched muttering
