I have very rich friends who look like they have hit hard times. They drive an old Toyota, wear simple clothes, and live in a modest home. They don’t want to advertise their wealth and attract the wrong attention.
I am a retired teacher with a pension and social Security . My husband and I began saving and investing decades ago. We are very secure and enjoy donating to charities throughout the year. No one would guess our net worth.
Also another important point is that some defeatist minded people who hate money and hate the wealthy doom themselves into staying poor because their hatred of wealth prevents them to learn how to save and invest
Rich people don't need to prove themself to anyone. Most of your truly wealthy people hold a low profile they don't need to be noticed they have the confidence behind them of who they really are and don't have to try to make believe they are someone they are not
Not all the rich act poor. In fact alot don't. Just visit Monaco, Lagos, China, Palm Beach, Aspen and Dubai Moscow and you ostentatious display of wealth sometimes nearby poverty in the developing countries.. Self made do it more. Old money has assets but usually more discreet. Keeping a low profile is always a good idea though. You can still dress good and wear a nice watch and drive a good car but no need for extravagance.
My work colleagues were always saying I was tight because I didn't spend money frivolously. I mean on bags of sweets for other people, breakfast every day, newspapers, coffee, branded clothes, fancy car, blah blah blah.. The truth is that I went without anything. I was comfortable and not foolish.... I am able to get the things I want without money... Without needing to own everything. If I see a book I want in a shop then I immediately check on the library app. It's usually there. No charge. Music? Spotify... Little charge and unlimited music... Just thinking a little more smartly....Somedays I find it hard to actually spend money. I can't believe how much people waste unnecessarily....
Looking at a former employer you would want to offer him a free meal. He wore the same expensive clothes everyday - he smoked the Cheapest Brand Cigarettes but drove a top of the range Mercedes Benz. After 3 marriages he went broke as his businesses failed due to his arrogance. Some people will never learn that their arrogance will always be their downfall.
My neighbor is worth millions from Microsoft investments. He doesn't spend any of it. He is now 77. He realizes, he can't take any of that with him. He teases, he is taking all of it with him. His young wife will cut him a check. 😂

The 3 wealthiest people I know all drive vehicles that are 10 years old. Wear jeans and t shirts. There’s an old saying, the poor, stay poor, because they keep doing the same thing over and over again, and the rich stay rich because they keep doing the same thing over and over again. 🤷♂️

Much of this seems to apply to people looking to be wealthy, rather than those who are wealthy, already. As to the idea that buying expensive cars is solely to display one's wealth, it's ridiculous; and not something to which many car lovers could relate. Similarly, those fanatical about horology would refute the notion that they're merely showing off. If someone has even a few hundred million, they could buy a nice Ferrari with a month's interest. It will have little or no impact on their wealth. In short, this is all decent advice, for those looking to get wealthy. It's a very shallow view of those that are already there. I recall Richard Branson mocking people who "drive around in their Rolls Royce, displaying how rich they are!". He was being interviewed on his yacht, moored offshore of his private island. It's all a matter of perspective. He couldn't see the irony, because the idea that he was merely 'showing off his wealth', simply never occurred to him... because he wasn't.
A lot of rich people have a fear in their minds. The fear of "I dont have enough". They also see their growth as a game. They don't want to lose any from their balance. At the end, you can't take it with you. Your wife and kids will write you a check and toss it in your coffin 😂

Have a good health, watch a useful videos and read a book that you can apply on your everyday life. Having fancy cars, very big house and lots of travel will make you a slave. Being rich is not easy because it is painful when it comes to taxes, even if you have a good investment locked in then you can’t touch it for a long time and the paperwork is such a headache too, IRS keeps asking for proof all the time so to make sure you are not jumping the rules, Assets still counts as tax once you have gain

It's not so easy present day to get anywhere if you have nothing. If you come say from a family who have always rented homes and have modest jobs, so have nothing for you ever to inherit, and you only have an ordinary job, and are having to fork out 1.5k a month for rent, how can you realistically succeed? More small businesses fail than make it, so unless you have a great idea, which no-one else has thought of, you are probably set up to fail. I know people will say I am defeatist, but if you look beyond the hype and B.S, then maybe it is easier said than done.
'and are having to fork out 1.5k a month for rent, how can you realistically succeed?' If rent is that high why not take on one or more roommates to split it?
It can be done. Just have to: 1) Do what others are not willing to do in terms of sacrifice. 2) Put in the long years it takes to get there...Day after day, week after week, paycheck after paycheck. The same is true of getting fit. Many are not willing to pay the price.

My idol Uncle Warren living a very common life. In the early 1990s, he and Bill Gate introduce Microsoft stocks in Hong Kong markets. At lunch time Uncle Warren took Bill Gate to the local Macdonald's and offered to pay. He reached into his $400-coat pocket and pulled out many coupons (not accepted in HK). Bill asked him where did those coupon come from? Warren said my wife collects them and now my daughter collects them, so I can use these to buy breakfast in my home town MacDonald's. 'and are having to fork out 1.5k a month for rent, how can you realistically succeed?'
If rent is that high why not take on one or more roommates to split it?
It can be done. Just have to: 1) Do what others are not willing to do in terms of sacrifice. 2) Put in the long years it takes to get there...Day after day, week after week, paycheck after paycheck. The same is true of getting fit. Many are not willing to pay the price.
You may impress a date with a luxury car but no one else cares . Infact they may hate you . If you don't have money in your back pocket , no one cares about you . Nice home yes , but wouldn't want a fancy car .
Even if I won the lottery, I’d still be driving my 20 year old car daily while my Porsche be in the garage😅
I like that 😆
I would drive my Porsche but wouldn't bother to wash it.
Hello and thank you for this video
Glad it was helpful!
some good stuff, but you've missed the big thing: why not use your money that you don't need, to do something good? to help people who are struggling? to make life better for other people? it's not about money, it's about using what God gives you to give love to your community, your family, and the world
True
Excellent.... Thanks !!
Glad you liked it!
I enjoy living well below my means. So when something comes up, like new car tries, I don't even blink.
there's a book called whispers of manifestation on borlest , and it talks about how using some secret tehniques you can attract almost everything in life it's not some bullshit law of attraction, it's the real deal
Some people can be rich and not intelligent or never work
Trying to empress people everyday can be very exhausted; dress normal to save time and feel comfortable and not caught too much attention; that’s it.
So i need more research to pasive assit,i try try,
We dont purposely try to look poor. We just dont need all that fancy stuff. Eg. Plain T shirt vs big brand across chest T shirt
Me am poor😔💸
Great.
Great 👍👍👍
Thank you
My idol Uncle Warren living a very common life. Uncle Warren still lives in his 1953 home where raised his children. 🤔🙄🤑😎
true
The point here is THEY WERE NO DOUBT HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE WITH THEIR LIVES AND HAD NO NEED AT ALL TO IMPRESS OTHERS - to be respected.
Thank you❤
You're welcome 😊
The rich are the ones who are really broadminded in their day to day life being mentally rich in my opinion is being too rich
