I have very rich friends who look like they have hit hard times. They drive an old Toyota, wear simple clothes, and live in a modest home. They don’t want to advertise their wealth and attract the wrong attention.

My work colleagues were always saying I was tight because I didn't spend money frivolously. I mean on bags of sweets for other people, breakfast every day, newspapers, coffee, branded clothes, fancy car, blah blah blah.. The truth is that I went without anything. I was comfortable and not foolish.... I am able to get the things I want without money... Without needing to own everything. If I see a book I want in a shop then I immediately check on the library app. It's usually there. No charge. Music? Spotify... Little charge and unlimited music... Just thinking a little more smartly....Somedays I find it hard to actually spend money. I can't believe how much people waste unnecessarily....

Much of this seems to apply to people looking to be wealthy, rather than those who are wealthy, already.
As to the idea that buying expensive cars is solely to display one's wealth, it's ridiculous; and not something to which many car lovers could relate. Similarly, those fanatical about horology would refute the notion that they're merely showing off.
If someone has even a few hundred million, they could buy a nice Ferrari with a month's interest. It will have little or no impact on their wealth.
In short, this is all decent advice, for those looking to get wealthy. It's a very shallow view of those that are already there. I recall Richard Branson mocking people who "drive around in their Rolls Royce, displaying how rich they are!". He was being interviewed on his yacht, moored offshore of his private island. It's all a matter of perspective. He couldn't see the irony, because the idea that he was merely 'showing off his wealth', simply never occurred to him... because he wasn't.

A lot of rich people have a fear in their minds. The fear of "I dont have enough".
They also see their growth as a game. They don't want to lose any from their balance. At the end, you can't take it with you. Your wife and kids will write you a check and toss it in your coffin 😂

I grew up poor and hated it. I had a very keen sense that I was poor . I became a saver, lived beneath my means and banked whatever I could . I had a squirrel attitude and squirreled every dollar away. I did dress decent but I shopped with a bargain attitude . I wound up owning two houses outright. I sold one for a substantial amount of money I have not touched $1 of that money. That money is making more money. I bought with cash a 2-year-old Lincoln for half price with only 16,000 mi on it. I live well. I don't show off but I don't look like a pauper. I have no debt.

Have a good health, watch a useful videos and read a book that you can apply on your everyday life. Having fancy cars, very big house and lots of travel will make you a slave. It's a great reminder that real wealth is not always loud and flashy, and that being smart with money is more important than looking rich. I love the point about the value of money and how rich people tend to invest in things that grow in value over time, rather than spending it all on fancy cars and vacations. It's also interesting to see how some wealthy individuals prioritize their mental and emotional health over extravagant spending. This video is packed with valuable insights and practical advice for anyone looking to build wealth and achieve financial success. Thanks for sharing!
I'm curious, have you ever tried any of the strategies mentioned in the video, like investing in stocks or real estate?
Or do you have any other tips for building wealth that weren't covered in the video?

Rich can mean a well organized life where you go to work everyday, practice moderate spending, saving and investing…. Those that have a subconscious overtly need for the acceptance of others will flaunt their wealth

Being rich is not easy because it is painful when it comes to taxes, even if you have a good investment locked in then you can’t touch it for a long time and the paperwork is such a headache too, IRS keeps asking for proof all the time so to make sure you are not jumping the rules, Assets still counts as tax once you have gain

It's not so easy present day to get anywhere if you have nothing. If you come say from a family who have always rented homes and have modest jobs, so have nothing for you ever to inherit, and you only have an ordinary job, and are having to fork out 1.5k a month for rent, how can you realistically succeed?
More small businesses fail than make it, so unless you have a great idea, which no-one else has thought of, you are probably set up to fail. I know people will say I am defeatist, but if you look beyond the hype and B.S, then maybe it is easier said than done.

'and are having to fork out 1.5k a month for rent, how can you realistically succeed?'
If rent is that high why not take on one or more roommates to split it?

It can be done. Just have to: 1) Do what others are not willing to do in terms of sacrifice. 2) Put in the long years it takes to get there...Day after day, week after week, paycheck after paycheck. The same is true of getting fit. Many are not willing to pay the price.

You may impress a date with a luxury car but no one else cares . Infact they may hate you . If you don't have money in your back pocket , no one cares about you . Nice home yes , but wouldn't want a fancy car .

some good stuff, but you've missed the big thing: why not use your money that you don't need, to do something good? to help people who are struggling? to make life better for other people? it's not about money, it's about using what God gives you to give love to your community, your family, and the world

My idol Uncle Warren living a very common life. In the early 1990s, he and Bill Gate introduce Microsoft stocks in Hong Kong markets. At lunch time Uncle Warren took Bill Gate to the local Macdonald's and offered to pay. He reached into his $400-coat pocket and pulled out many coupons (not accepted in HK). Bill asked him where did those coupon come from? Warren said my wife collects them and now my daughter collects them, so I can use these to buy breakfast in my home town MacDonald's. Uncle Warren still lives in his 1953 home where raised his children. 🤔🙄🤑😎
