      They simply exhausted their line, likely due to things like their isolationism and racial prejudice. They kept to themselves so well odds are they passed on in silence, unbeknownst to the rest of Middle-Earth until someone dares to Approach, if anyone was left to seek them.

      But tbh wasn't Tolkiens idea kinda that this could have been like our world just that it's so far ago we don't remember or something like that? So that in the end just men remained and that's why the World is like it is today. But idk whether I am right about that

      @@gabriellang7998 If it was most other fantasy settings I'd agree, but here on Tolkiens part it was intentional. A key point if the story and setting is that magic is fading, Lord of the Rings would be very different if it wasn't like that. Plus as someone else mentioned, this is meant to be an ancient earth, in other words our prehistory.

      @@the_corvid97 What do you mean, ancient earth?
      This world is a literal bubble of reality set in the sea of primeval night. It's like a pocket dimension from a newbie creator god.
      Has nothing to do with any of our legends, or is not really relevant to our past.
      Tolkien lore seem to be a stand-alone mythos, loosely based upon existing concepts.
      Which changes nothing regarding my previous statement.
      I think it is just low-hanging fruit on many authors part to just describe decline instead of showing ascending world and characters. I would love to see something else for a change.

    You'd have to plant Meadows of snowbell flower, that's white flower black root. And baby's breath, is the other seedling you saturate the Meadows with. The easiest way to do it is you a map The thermals of your stratospheres, then you build a gyrocopter you welded together with your 2-in copper pipes and a two-stroke dirt bike engine and then you pull up a 16 kilo bag 16 ft above the proper thermal that you want to drift through and just slowly release the pressure of the seating and you saturate the whole valley at the right point on the right day. I've gradually formed a theory about how the races of elves, dwarfs and hobbits "faded." Rather than becoming extinct, they gradually interbred with humans. Aragon and Arwen's union is one example: their children were elven and human. I'd find it hard to believe that they were the only example of an elf and a human marrying. I don't think unions between dwarfs and humans is unlikely, and hobbits were the most humanlike of the other races. I always remember how Merry and Pippin became exceptionally large for hobbits after drinking entwash; who's to say they or their descendants didn't marry human women?

    In ancient Egypt (primarily during the Old Kingdom era), dwarfs were often known for their skills as master-jewellers and highly sought after. Not only that, but their jewellery was believed to possess magical qualities.

      @@slinky6481 Thanks for replying. Interesting. What I find particularly interesting is how dwarves are looked upon in the same way in a totally unrelated culture. Not only that, but the Norse are later in history, which suggests they did not influence each other somehow. Funny, I never considered the Norse myths.
      That said, it seems fitting that he got his inspiration from the Norse, since they have more of a Middle Earth vibe, in comparison to the ancient Egyptians.

    I’d honestly live in fangorn. Just become a witch of the woods and live quietly with nature. I’d try and see if I could live in harmony with not only with natural creatures but try and bring balance to dark ones as well like the spiders, wargs and fellbeast. I’d do what I can to I weave Saurons darkness and hold over them and try and help them habitat naturally.

    • @ericstoverink6579
      @ericstoverink6579 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tolkien intended for Middle-Earth to be a prehistoric precursor to our modern world. So, technically there wasn't an end to the universe; it just evolved into the world we have today. Tolkien had stated that we are probably in the 6th or 7th age right now.
