I give major props to the cameraman/camerawoman because the picture quality is ace as far as I can see! I like the blurred background! I was looking in the background to see the other wrestlers and if they get confused with the whistles and they don't it's sooo cool! I wish there were thousands in the crowd
Sad that some coaches just don't know when to lay off, the kid looked stressed to the max, lno wonder why he walked off the mat.

This video is like a soap opera to me: The young teen being hounded by his overbearing coach, the referee who can''t stand it when coacher overstep their bounds, the opponent who wants to be his friend, but knows he must compete even though his coach understands that whoever wins it's not the end of the world and the bystanders who are just there to root for their kid or eat snacks OMG I know, I know, too much
I like the high school wrestling more because the coaches yell out more than the college and I know what moves are allowed!
Could Costello have fought off that pin? He didn't seem to resist and squirm around so he could get off his back.
Sorry to disagree with y'all, but I think Costello got a raw deal from the ref. He was riding him throughout and psychologically that creates a loser attitude.
Early in this match, Costello was pushed out, or ran out, and after that, the ref said something to the guy with the backpack. What was that about? If anyone remembers. I know this was back in Sept. '21. Thanks.
The ref said to the man wearing a backpack, "You can't just run off the mat." According to the ref, he was not pushed off the mat by the opposing wrestler. And the ref is officially always correct, regardless of what anyone else thinks. It is considered to not be good sportsmanship to argue with the ref on his calls. Yes, refs occasionally make mistakes.

At :21, just before the kid runs off the mat, a hand reaches in and touches him. It's not the opponent's hand. Who the hell is that who seems to be on the mat and interfering with the wrestlers? I know it must be an optical illusion, but all of a sudden there's a third hand - with a wedding ring and a wristwatch - reaching in. Who is that?
That is the red wrestler's coach, who you can see speaking with the official at 0:35. He was sitting in the coach's chair and reached out to try to protect his wrestler from running into me and my camera.
Poor kid lost the match because his coach sucks couldn't shut up and let him concentrate on what he was doing got him all rattled a good coach teaches his wrestler how to wrestle at practice at the match he keeps his mouth shut and lets the wrestle show his wrestling ability not his ability to follow the coaches play by play instructions which should be considered cheating coach is always trying to intimidate the referee and get them to change their call kid needs a new coach
Costello definitely should not be wrestling 156. 😂
His arms are like sticks. A few times he got some decent holds, maybe a power half or assassin attempt but had no upper body strength to pull it off
Stop it.. He will improve.. Many great wrestlers started with upsets..
