Also the thing is it's WW2, food is being rationed and the price of food like sweets has heightened so he most likely hasn't had sweets in a while and I know that the turkish delight was poisoned but I don't even think he was properly thinking about selling his family,he just wanted turkish delight
The Train Wreck was the event that brought about the deaths of the visitors of Narnia. The kids do not realize that they died until they are already in Aslan's Country. All the children who have visited Narnia and still believe in it died in this wreck, therefore excluding Susan Pevensie.
