Two of the best singers and musicians in the world. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. Thank you both and all of the people behind you that compliment your beautiful music. 😮
This is such incredible playing! In a world full of sorrow, deceit, and sadness, Molly and Billy give us all something to believe in again. You are all amazing and thank you for pulling me out of this funk. Nothing like the blues to cure the blues!
When I was a 15 year old Aussie kid I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan for the first time. I'm now a massive blues fan. When I was 50 odd years old I heard Billy and Molly for the first time.....
Stevie Ray Vaughan was also my hook to ♥️ ‘The blues’ Now I listen to his contemporary, Joe Bonamassa. Billy & Molly are also top blues/country artists.
In a perfectly fair world, these two would be at the tip-top of the Hot 100 charts week after week. Bring back music education in schools so that future generations not only know what good music sounds like (regardless of genre), but will excel in STEM.
@@rayray8687 I decided to research this so I could give you some evidence. It turns out that the situation isn’t as bad as I had been told it was. While music education has declined, 92% of school systems still offer music education.
@@Maydoggie: I’m relieved to hear that. I was the first in my family to work as a professional musician but all my current family members had at least basic music education in school and everyone in my immediate family plays an instrument. I would be distraught to think that music would be removed from school curricula. Thanks for reassuring me!
@@Maydoggie It's the record producers who need music education. They keep producing and pushing crap on the public while the truly talented musicians are pushed into a corner. Kudos to the ones that keep it alive and real.
Absolutely love Billy and Molly, Just saw Molly on my PBS station and she and her band blew me away. Thanks PBS. Billy I saw on Steven Colbert show and he was great, so now I have the Bluegrass station on my XM radio.
This is in the top 3 concerts I’ve been to. So lucky to have seen this live, I always come back to this and the Black Mountain Rag from the same night. Some of the best guitar picking I’ve heard
this post is by billy the kid... the historical Billy the Kid was born in Pinos Altos, New Mexico ... my little dog Punkin is from there... y'all have a great day too... please ✌️
left too. digs into the beat in this number makes sure it keeps a swing. Strong attack on both fronts. You play like that, you will never have a still audience. Guitar is percussive, and she drives this railroad beat nice.
Quite possibly my favorite concert of all time and I've been going to Merlefest for over a decade. I feel blessed to have seen this once in a lifetime performance. Thank you!
Since listening to people like Sierra Hull and the McCoury's, never have I appreciated the mandolin as a bluegrass instrument as I do now. A good mandolin player is lifeblood to a great bluegrass band.
That’s some serious flat picking by Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings, and the other pickers were right on time. We need to hear way more of bluegrass music.

I thoroughly enjoyed that song. Molly, you sound better than ever .
I could listen to this forever ❤️👍love you guys 😘what a sound🤷❤️

Molly's singing just continues to get better and better.

Molly and Billy have both evolved themselves into excellent vocalists.
@@jysmtl Not only that - they're both exceptionally talented guitarists.
Molly puts more into her voice, making it sound better. Two great pickers.
Old Doc would be proud of this Generation keeping the flame.
Amazing sound, a proper tribute to all who have ever sung this marvelous song.
These two need to tour the UK together next year or whenever they can ...they have both been here separately 😢
Two of the best flat pickers on the same stage. How can you not love it.
Ive realy got a likeing for this song" brings back good memories" seen niel live once✌️👍i loved it❤️🦋im in✌️🦅
These guys are just the best - once in a generation (or two) talent! I've said it before - the future of our beloved bluegrass music is in good hands!

When did music education leave schools? I had it, my children had it, my grandchildren have it - is it gone in your area?

The band is great. Molly Tuttle has a very nice country bluegrass voice.
We are so lucky to see these two playing together. On Doc's 100th birthday.
Like seeing Doc and Tony play together.
Molly and Billy, the 2 best pickers out there !!!
Molly’s younger brother Sullivan who plays with AJ Lee is even better. You should hear him do some Dylan tunes from “Blood on the Tracks”
Define "best."
Not a contest ladies and gents. Just enjoy
I love to see these two supporting each other and smiling huge smiles all along the way!
At one time they shared a house together. Love to have heard the pickin sessions
I love how Billy watches her play and genuinely appreciates her. They are both extraordinary
Lovely music,,great artist, 🌹

This song really set the whole show for me. Molly and Billy were beautiful together. Was a great ride.
Just absolutely and utterly incredible and lovely too. Thank you so much
She is such a natural. Singing and playing so relaxed. Her right hand is exceptional. Also a wonderful teacher.

OMG I love the Tony Rice recording of this cool song but the way Molly sings and plays it? OMG LOVE IT!!❤

This is Awesome
Love how attentive Alex is to what he is accompanying. He really tunes into to the emotional delivery.
Doesn't get any better than this.
Love seeing these young musicians carrying bluegrass into the future, Billy and Molly are outstanding, so are the rest of the players!!
Excellent!! From France.

Great night of music in Winston Salem celebrating Doc Watson with stellar musicians.
Oh my! That bass solo leading into Megan's slide solo! Pure heavenly Bliss!
Weird. This comment was for another video. LOL!
But this one is great too. I'd love to see Molly and Billy together someday.
Show of a lifetime!

Happy Birthday Doc!!!
Fantastic !!! Loved every note.
I feel so blessed to have been at this show. Truly incredible!!!!
Hey Molly-- Come on to the Midwest-- Shoefest and Frankfort fest await you!!!!
The time signature on this song is insane, such a talented bunch of folks. Thanks for posting!
Yeah, it’s a straight song in a straight timing, nothing insane about it , 3 chord turnaround in 4/4
@@guitarman1477 Yeah ok, but it isn't straightforward for some people , which is fine .. We've all got to learn
The vocal has that little break in the verse that is easy to mess up.

I agree. Walker is the Billy Strings of Mandolin players. He is the unsung hero of BMFS.
Bill Monroe knew that!!! But he also recognized how important the fiddler was!!!
View count skyrockets when Molly is added...LOVE me some Molly Tuttle💖💖😎
Lucky dog bro, hanging with Molly.
I like how when she starts pickin' the melody Billy looks and over and I'm sure is saying to himself, "that's some fine guitar pickin' right there"
Please tour the UK 🇬🇧 🙏
