A word of advice: Cuttlefish are good, but only when it comes to art and color theory. Want a *real* dissertation? Help out an octopus--you won't regret it.
This is how working with some bosses is. They seem frightening & cruel but if you're smart/strong enough to carry out instructions as asked they are incredibly grateful even generous. In this case the king may have known of the 3 flutes, perhaps this is how he became king.
the plot twist would be that they were actually beautiful princesses, but the one illustrating them is imaging them as ugly, since Jack is refusing their hand. After all what the story shows, he is an honest down to earth man, that just wants the work money and in no need to rush for marriage c:
Jack Crow sounds like the name of a thief/adventurer who can turn into a Crow :3 I love these Hungarian Folk Tales, they are creative and inspirational. Jack Crow is a handsome young man, and the King looks like a Cat with hair like Fire.
I think that this is a beautifully animated folktale and I give high praise to both the narrator, for retelling the story, and the animators, for illustrating the story.
what if he messed up and blew the wrong whistle, like "i need help with these seeds let me call my friends" *plays whistle* "its me the crow" jack"can you help me sort the seeds?" crow"I can try" crow *eats seeds and poops in hay* jack"wtf i need this job please what are you doing" crow*mouth full of seeds sitting in poop hay shrugs*
Ava Foroughi Yeah that would have been hilarious, but luckily in fairytales like this (and in real life) most young people are expected to have good memories.
I like the music in this tale so much. Feels different from all the others for me. And the story it's kinda different somehow. I think it is my favourite tale. I like watching it before sleep, I feel like a small child :))
i have no idea why this is so anime but i mean i'm not complaining, (sidenote: hungarian here & it took me AGES to stop mixing the two up, but holló means raven, crow is varjú!)
Bird is a way to refer to female human for when they speak actively among each other sounding like birds chirping, skwacking, and being light footed at a seconds notices.
In school I played a game with a story similar to this. For the first impossible task, I was supposed to have the birds I'd befriended sort the seeds before me, but I thought that would be cheating so I opted to do it myself. I was confused because I thought I was supposed to take the high road, try my very best, and do my own work, but I ended up failing the challenge. So much for honesty being the best policy.
1:23 Ant: thanks here’s a whistle, if your in trouble blow on- (Blows on whistle) Ant: what is it? Me: I have EOCs next week! can you do math? Ant: 😐 Me: so.... no?
Jack was smart. He came there for work and left when the job was done. No additional complications in his life. He accomplished his goals and dodged a bullet.
Does anyone know what happened to the old version of the narration of these Hungarian folktales from when they were on Long Ago and Far Away, hosted by James Earl Jones?
Jack crow is the only person I've seen so far not get married for a kingdom and gold
Because the kings daughters are ugly.
He didn’t take the kingdom though.
@@HB-ud5fg seems like because that kingdom is too complicated to rule :))
But he did get gold in the end....

jack realized that hungarian men always grew mustaches upon marrying and decided marriage wasn’t worth committing to a look he didn’t even like
Non-binary Coding 😂
Bcz there was no blond princess thsese ppl have thing for being shallow u knw.... 😂😂
Old hungarian tradition wearing a mustache...
Jack crow gnc af

I love the fact Jack came back and taked care of his parents

Jack's poor parents sure dressed him in a nice outfit!
Yeah

Helping three animals mean there will be impossible tasks, regardless of which tradition you read fairytales from. Jack Crow is quite lovely too.
I once helped a spider, and in return, he did my dissertation

I have no idea why, but I find the King petting Jack's head cute.
I oddly agree
Headpat squad assemble
I agree. Lookit Jack's widdle pouty face.
Jack's face when he was being petty was way too cute 😂
lol yes
I like how despite the king's... Worrisome appearance, he turned out to e good and honorable in the end.
He looked like a dragon

Well... I mean he purposely tossed his ring in the sea
@@heitorsilvasousa3342 Or a lion.
Perhaps honorable for keeping his word, but certainly not very good for willing to execute servants failing impossible tasks
Jack was rather lucky, because the king could have had him executed for having refused to marry any of his daughters.
I never thought about it like that.
But if I were him I would still not want the princesses and the Kingdom.
sólveig Diðriksdóttir Very true, not me either. :D
the plot twist would be that they were actually beautiful princesses, but the one illustrating them is imaging them as ugly, since Jack is refusing their hand. After all what the story shows, he is an honest down to earth man, that just wants the work money and in no need to rush for marriage c:
@@Kaffelag
Yeah maybe but my point is
If he would marry one of them
He would have to go after her every night as a flying crow. 1 time is enough
acla9000 hah, then we’d get a Hungarian folk tale red wedding.
Jack Crow sounds like the name of a thief/adventurer who can turn into a Crow :3 I love these Hungarian Folk Tales, they are creative and inspirational. Jack Crow is a handsome young man, and the King looks like a Cat with hair like Fire.
Jack means prince
Hence, Prince Crow
I would like to know what is the original Hungarian name like.
@@LuísJarlesHolló Jankó
If the fourth task was to dodge a bullet I'd say Jack did exactly that by not marrying into the king's family.
Jack low key turned down the kingdom because he didn't want to be rude about turning down the king's ugly daughters.
HoneyedHylian Lol! True that! The King's daughters were downright ugly!! The king himself looked like a half human half something..
@@Zlnfgz He looked like he was half Garfield tbh.
Hilarious 😂😂
You could say Ganondorf finally became a father xD
@HoneyedHylian you can be my princess And i will marry you =•.•=
When Jack rode on the crows back, it kind of reminds me about Ghibli version of Howl´s Moving Castle xD
Yep. I can't believe u know it. 👍👍
And when he asked the fish he reminded me of luffy from one piece and the ancient weapon poseidon shirahoshi controling the sea kings
Cat returns as well
I love Howl’s moving castle
Have you read the book? It's soooo much better! It's my favorite story of all time ❤
Could you imagine if he mixed up the whistles? lol

Compassion towards animals is always the right way to act. Bravo, Jankó!
Am I the only one who finds jack adorable?
Not the adorable you want to date but like the adorable little puppy type of cute.
Jack is best trap
Yes! He looked so adorable when the king petted his head 😭🥺
I love how the flutes play the intro whistle. Very cute detail.
Jack Crow was my favourite Hungarian Folk Tale , and still is .
I think Jack Crow is beautiful.
Real
Does anyone else think Jack looks like an anime protagonist?
Oh absolutely.
wheeze YES
He has a fantasy genre outfit
He kinda reminds me of the main antagonist for Berserk
no its not. Totally different looking. The art style , the culture etc...
I think that this is a beautifully animated folktale and I give high praise to both the narrator, for retelling the story, and the animators, for illustrating the story.
Jack Crow is no simp. He turned down three princesses for cash🗿🍷
Shame on him Marrying one of the kings daughters and ruling half the kingdom would've benefitted how he makes a difference.
7:44 has me weak. Jack looks so bothered having his head pat like a cat
And by a guy that vaguely looks like a lion no less
Maybe he turned down marriage so he would never have to go trough *that* again

Jack Crow, the originator of the sigma grindset. "No women for me, your majesty, only wealth and self improvement, thank you." XD
7:47 the king petting Jack is just like petting a cat lol
Reminds me of the myth of phychy when she had to sort a pile of seeds and then the ants took pity on her and sorted them by morning

Me with JonTron’s voice: Who are you to judge? 😑😂
That’s just saying the ant has a broken leg. That’s no different in saying something like Jack’s hair is blonde

Jack is fabulous
I like how in all these tales all the people who get instruments from animals can play them like prodigies
The moral of most of these stories seems to be: help animals!!!!
4:35 I imagined Jack just summoning a mass swarm of ants into the castle and simply leaving with middle fingers held up high into the sky 😂
Why, in the name of Jupiter, would 3 girls suddenly be birds??
There are tons of "why would" questions in folk tales.
Perhaps some folktales were originally inspired by shamanic visions.
Bird is a way to refer to female human for when they speak actively among each other sounding like birds chirping, skwacking, and being light footed at a seconds notices.
The queen was of the crow/raven kingdom.
Maybe they put on black capes and started running idk
I have trouble sleeping and these have been my go to for the past week, I jam out to the intro melody every tome and then pass out

Ants: Didn't we do something like this for Psyche?
Jack did not accept the princesses because they were not hot enough
Or because he had other interests.
He wanted to help his parents, and only his parents????
Jack just wanted to work to bring money home to his parents. The fact that he turned down ruling a kingdom is humbling
my favourite story so far

I don't know why I find this scene hilarious.
He throws the ring
I love him,, his design and name
Finally a story when guy only cares for his family and wildlife
Good to see these tales before sleep!!
Yes. Beautiful dreams come after during sleep.
Can confirm, watching folk tales while waiting to get sleepy.
Even the protagonist named Jack CROW has blonde hair
How a story starts and ends: "once upon a time/long time ago....................and they lived happily ever after". The story was good tho.
I always loved the scenes with the crows (ravens in the PBS version). Their scenes are just so magical.
Well, then the PBS version got it right. It's raven (holló), not crow (varjú).
Finally the protagonist didn’t marry the princess!
if everyone always gets half the kingdom, what you will have in no time?

This is a version of an ancient story. There are Greek and Chinese and African versions of it, too.
The takeaway: family first before anything else

what's with animals giving people whistles in hungarian folktales.
É a primeira história que ninguém se casa.
I realized that in most of these Hungarian tales, the princess is almost treated as a reward. Why is that?
Well, fairytales had always been like that.
what a twist.
I don't know what I am going to do when I have watched all of these. They are a lot of fun.
This is the same as the trials in cupid and psyche hehe
Love from Bulgaria! Epic folklore.
I think this is the first I've seen the ocean animated in here... wow
Finally, one that doesn't end in a marriage!

After all that, I'm surprised the king wasn't offended at Jack's refusal of his daughters. 😂
Whistleblowers are held in high esteem in Hungary!

after the crow gave jack the whistle I though
me: o dang how will he remember which whistle is which?
Different pockets or it they look different unlike in the animation I guess? It would of been funny if he mixed them up but luckily it didn't happen.
I guess the ants one is the smallest one, the lightest one is the raven one and the fish one is made of coral.
It's not called "a flock of crows," it's called "a murder of crows."
the smite and slaughter of crows.
Apparently crow scientists never use that term though.
"Flock" refers to a group of birds, so "A flock of crows" is still appropriate.
Love this
