Always enjoy guys. You guys keep this up and I might actually do a good job when I start up my company. As always Dan, I don’t care what Mark said about you. You are freaking great. 👍
that's cool I've never seen that or installed that yet. Nice Kliens pliers bud I like your taste in tools =). You should do an up date on this when you install it where you are so I/we can see it in action/ never mind you did at the end I see it's cool but my Question is Does it snow a lot where you are? I looked up where whyoming is and your mid west close to California far from ocean air. My concern is corrosion here we are eastern Canada near ocean were master locks are replaced weekly lol. Also Nice cut on your finger you got there looks like a barb wire war wound LOL
So glad you guys did this video and did a great job showing the process installing a panic bar, Dan and team. Can’t get enough of the fence content look forward to many more and are here for the ride, hope you have a great dang day Like comment and subscribe fence fam 👍
Dan, my man…. You asked for it… you got it! I’ll bite… “How do you know all those things?” I can’t believe that you broke the Man Code and actually read the destructions. It might be entirely possible that you watched someone else install one? It might have come from chatter you picked up, over lunch break, with one of your coworkers? Perhaps, you saw a TH-cam DIY video? There is even a remote possibility that you took gate latch installation certification courses? But, I think not! Those are all drastic research measures that don’t seem right for you. You don’t strike me as the type of guy who would stoop to such low-brow tactics. I think it may come from deep within… from some inner force that only you can control. One that makes you uniquely qualified to master difficult and tedious assemblies, such as this. So answer me truthfully… Do you know these things because you are a Fencing Genius??? Inquiring numbskulls, like me, really want to know!
I really like the installation of the panic bar, however, with such a big gap between the gate and the door, someone can bypass it without using a key just by pushing the latch or the panic bar with a bent rod.
FYI, Panic bar hight should be 34" to 48" from floor/ground to center of bar. This is a standard requirement by Code for egress. Yours looked a little high.( the catch thing that you screwed to your welded metal plate, that the latch engages into is the Strike Plate) Too high and small people or someone in a wheelchair would have a harder time opening the gate.
Great Personality, informative stuff on all things fences, love it.

This is genuinely the only video I could find that was helpful. Directions that come with it are terrible and I'm a visual learner.
Glad to hear that! Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
Great tutorial Dan! Never installed one of these

Oh! Of course... yes... merely because I am a fencing genius. No other reason! 🤣

It’s a strike plate
I would use my belt and put in the top of barrier and pull through bottom to open !!!
Just saying !!!
Sorry !!!
not if the barrier was offset
That looks like shit. The latch side is a Hassard.
No no, tell me what you really think. 😏
