I got this, ditched Cox and switched from Hulu live to Directv Stream. improvement on both. T-mobile has been spectacular. 5 times the speeds, half the price and no data overages. (I also live a couple hundred yards from a 5G mid-band tower, so)
Thanks for posting I was on the fence about this going to do it. I want to cut the cord I pay over $200 for cablevision in New York it's actually like 220 a month and I also have Hulu, Netflix all of that so I'm close to $300 a month All In. I never watch cable TV you can purchase HBO, stars, and all those through the apps so there's no need to have cable anymore.
@@MichaelPepperTech If I didn't have Wi-Fi calling I wouldn't have any cell service, if Wi-Fi goes out I have to drive a few miles up the road just to make a phone call. This is also why I still have a landline in 2022 🤦♂️🤣
That would be a great deal if T-Mobile 5G wasn’t so terrible at my house. I have them for basic phone service in the experience is pretty bad at my house
No, it's "home internet". Though it is not yet geo-locked, it is technically against their terms to use it outside the address you have it registered to.
Greg! Thanks for reviewing this bro! I just got it but haven't hooked it up yet. How many devices do you have connected on your network? I have about 25😳 So I'm a little skeptical about the performance I'll see.
My worry is that we work from home and have conf calls sometimes 7 each daily and we have a kid who is doing School from home. Because of my job i have to have at least a true dedicated 95% up time with my internet i can't loose the strength or connection or my network reporting for systems is comprimised for my job..... i want to pull the trigger and get this but man I'm still skeptical. Also great video Greg!!!
@@10minutetechreviews30 we use this all the time and haven't had any issues really like I said in the video I think you'll be absolutely fine as long as you have a strong signal which obviously you can test out for the two-week trial. I've consumed two terabytes of data in a little over 3 weeks
Not awesome for gaming, I returned mine. Just have proper expectations, might be a cheaper alternative but if you really care about your speed look elsewhere.
After struggling with T-Mobile 5Ghz Internet for two weeks, with extremely, extremely low download speeds, highly erratic and sporadic service, lousy customer service, worse technical help, I have unceremoniously DUMPED them. Although the T-Mobile 5Ghz tower is literally in my back yard, they provisioned me to a tower 8.5 miles away, hidden among thirty story buildings because “it had low usage “. Tried as I must to rectify the situation, they refused to reprovision the card “in the general interest”. Their customer service is outsourced to a company in Manila, Philippines who has no idea of what US customers expect in terms of service. They are very anti business in their comportment and demeanor. Cox offered to match their price and deal with a free modem also for 100 Mpbs download. In all of lengthy discussions with them, the supervisor Jane in Manila kept referring to Nate Tater, his opinions and his videos. I thus can only wonder if Nate is a paid propagandist for them. I have had Internet for 40 years, all over the world, and the T-Mobile 5Ghz Home Internet is assuredly THE WORST. They deliver on nothing promised and just lie and lie and lie. Get an outlet timer that switches on and off once a week at 2am and you'll be automated.
Good idea

One of the best decisions I have made in a long time. Switching to T-Mobile home internet and changing my plan to magenta max saved me 5 dollars.
Hi do you get better speeds if u use a ethernet cord?
Ethernet will almost always be faster and more reliable but I don’t have anything connected via Ethernet except my hue lights adapter.

Yeah at least give it a try see how well it works for you I hope you enjoy it
I see you received the old gateway. Any regrets not waiting a few more weeks for the new one?
Silly question, Is it compatible with a vpn?
Yes
Do you have the Nokia trash can looking gateway or the the new black square gateway the new one seems to perform better
Nokia. Yeah I heard the black one is more stable but the performance speed was a little less
And if your having issues with your router doing that then you need to return it. It shouldn't be doing that.
I know it says home internet but can you take it to another house or place and plug it up?? Does it have 5ghz bands as well?
Yes and yes
@@MichaelPepperTech They do NOT geo-lock the gateways, yet.
Thanks…I enjoyed your video. Blessings on your day.
Would love to have this, but don't even get 3G at my house. These cell companies don't care about us people out in the boonies.

Not good in California was only getting 6mbps

Is it supposed to be used as a portable device? Take it with you on trips?
Theoretically you could but it always needs to be plugged in with power in order to be used

@GregglesTV thanks think I'll call em today and give it a try. Appreciate the reply and again loved the review.
@@GregglesTV thanks bro
I was going to get one of these until i found out T-Mobile does a hard credit pull on you. Like not getting my credit F'ed for internet service
:(
50 bucks, 1 cord, 0 mess !
I did not get those speeds that you got. Those speeds are great you are getting. My upload speed was fine. Download was 100mg at best.
Yeah it's going to be different for everybody

Worked fine, no lag on cod vanguard
