Dubrovnik citizens (old town) are mostly of aristocrats origins, so the city is very well preserved. But croatian cities are mostly very clean, no matter those by Adriatic sea or in mainland.
@iconoclast no, nothing was rebuild, it was only repaired according to regulations for protected historical heritage. Stones were taken out and carved new ones were inserted and some roofs were new made....the damage was not that substantial.
