It depends on the relationship between you and the person you are speaking to. My brother and I are very close se we use ชั้น - แก; (แก is often paired with ชั้น, not common to use with the other pronoun) If I speak to a friend who are not very close to me, I would use เรา rao (I) - nick name of that person (you) Personally, I don't like using the pronoun เธอ and it is not commonly used now. : )
The pronoun "I" for female speaker in written form is ฉัน /chan (rising tone)/, but in today language, it is commonly spelled and pronounced ชั้น /chan (high tone)/. I just prefer to write the way the word pronounced. : )

ฉัน is written language, ชั้น is spoken language. I chose to write ชั้น because it matches the new pronunciation.:) You can write ฉัน but when you hear women speak, they will say ชั้น :)

SuperErmacX "มาก maak" is more common. "จะตาย jà-dtaai" is used only with people you are close to (it might not sound polite to others).
