I’d love to see how you rigged up the throttle actuator to the motor. I’m looking at buying this autopilot I just wanted to make sure it was compatible with it. I have the same exact motor, with the remote controls

I'm actually working on the final editing of a video where I go through the entire installation. The reactor 40 comes with adaptors for a variety of engines, the Suzuki isn't one of them, you can get the Suzuki adapter kit here

The short story of how I hooked the throttle up is I ended up disconnecting the throttle from the remote controls and I only use the reactor 40 to control the speed of the boat, I left the cable there so if for some reason in the future I need to use it I can just slide it back on. Garmin says you can keep it hooked up but you have to move the throttle on the shift controls as you push the button on the reactor 40 controls. I didn't like that so I just disconnected it. You can idle the engine up using the reactor 40 throttle without engaging the the auto pilot

@@rebelrrp that sounds like it would work perfectly fine for what I want to do with it. I use my big motor to and from where I fish and would exclusively use the kicker for trolling with the autopilot on anyway. Also, I find the throttle lever on the motor super touchy so I’m fine with not having to use it.
Thank you so much for the info and look forward to seeing the install video! I’ll definitely be using it for my install.

I’ve got that same 2021 Suzuki kicker on a 28’ boat with an I/O and we are new to using the Garmin Reactor 40. How do you adjust the speed once you have engaged your autopilot?
All I can find is the set up guide for help online. Trying to contact Garmin for set up and any specific questions had been less than helpful.

@@lisakwiese the up and down buttons on the remote control speed. However there are a few motors that have feedback through the throttle cable and don't allow the reactor 40 actuator to move the throttle, Suzuki is one of them. The directions say that you can just move the throttle as you push buttons on the remote to correct this. What I did is disconnect the throttle cable at the throttle body and I only use the reactor 40 to adjust my speed. Is that the question you were asking?

@@rebelrrp I think that sounds like a bummer if you can't adjust the speed from the tiller handle or regular throttle anymore! I have a 2020 zuk and the garmin on the way. Are you telling me, we can't adjust the throttle in both places (you had to choose one or the other)?

Can you run a GPS speed and the motor will automatically throttle up and down?

If I understand your question the answer is no. The throttle actuator only increases the RPM. I now have my setup set up on a garmin fish finder and it shows speed heading and all of that but it doesn't adjust speed based on the GPS. At least if it does I haven't figured out how to do it.

Really appreciate your reply, I wish Garmin could implement this even if they sold a module separate to replace an itroll or troll master. Would sellout! Thanks!
