Enjoyed listening to 'Mike the mould man', very compelling. Bit twitchy about our log burner now...
Listened to 2nd half of the podcast while crunching around the garden in the frozen autumn leaves - much better for lungs and body.

    Come on.
He criticises companies for ripping customers off, for mould removal, by using fear, and sells an air purifier 3 x the price of other air purifiers, equally as effective, using the same fear.
It is an excellent product but the price isn't justified.

You must not have watched the whole video. Because the difference is that these air purifiers have decades worth guarantee. So actually, you’re saving money in the long run. I’m worried for his business model because that seems like a great offer for us customers. The price is definitely justified - anything to breathe better.

@@wel-253 I wouldn't use the word definitely myself, because we can't predict the future. I wouldn't criticise the product either, because as you say "anything to breathe better". Which is why i said it is an excellent product.
When calculating the price of cleaning the air, the price of the apparatus alone isn't the only thing to be taken into consideration. My only criticism of this machine is it's price. It would be an excellent product if they could get the price of the machine down and the price of the filters down.
I did watch the video, all the way to the end, because it is very important to get the message out there, that the poor air we breathe is having a negative effect on our health, to a far greater degree than we currently think. He makes very good points about poor air quality, and the need to purify it, it's just the arguments to justify the difference in price are no more convincing than a car salesman convincing you to buy one of their there cars.
There is no need to be worried for his business model, there are plenty of companies selling air purifiers, some of them are just as good or even better, even if the vast majority are not anywhere near as good.

@@robinhood4640 fair enough. Have you found a similar quality product at a cheaper price with the same volume / level of filtration and decade long product guarantee/replacement? I’m genuinely asking because I’d like to compare them.

@@wel-253 We live in a world that no longer gives a decade long warranty the value it had in the past. Your concerns for "his business model" are justified and make my point. You are only saving money in the long run if the company making the claims exists in the long run. Many customers are regretting investing for the long run in companies that had the best of intentions. i wouldn't recommend gambling on the long term benefits.
You will find other purifiers with pretty much the same functions, including the air monitoring, and the auto settings, which are generally more important than air replacement rates and level of filtration.
Any purifier, within reason, will filter the air if turned on maximum speed and left long enough. What we need, and the Jaspr does well, is to turn off once the air has been purified, monitor the air quality and turn on when needed. If you have a Jaspr, which i think you said during the video, that you did, you will have observed that it never runs on full speed. other than when initially installed, or after an increase in pollution due to something specific creating it.
The purpose of an air purifier should be to keep a cleaned environment clean, by not allowing the accumulation of particles and or gases. If you need maximum volume / level of filtration, it is because you have a source of pollution constantly polluting, in which case you need to eliminate the source because air purifier or not you are being continually exposed to the pollution from the source.
What i am trying to say is you only need a jaspr for the first 2 or 3 days maximum, thereafter the Jaspr will be running on tick over, every now and again when the air quality monitors detect something, which should be rarely, so you will hardly ever need it's maximum capacity again.
It's like buying a Porsche to take granny shopping, because granny needs to go shopping and she can't walk.
I wouldn't argue that granny doesn't need to go shopping, or that she can't walk, just that you can buy a Ford fiesta, take granny shopping and pay for granny and yourself to have a nice holiday, for the same price. And it wont cost a fortune to change the tyres.
