Colleen Hoover's books are just not good. The writing is NEVER subtle, I agree with you saying it's tacky. I've read Reminders Of Him, Verity, It Ends With Us. Did not like any of it 😭
as someone who also doesn’t like contemporary, there are some genuinely really good books with great writing and characters but Coleen Hoover books are. not one of them in any way. Her writing is just so juvenile and most of her stories just romanticise toxic relationships.
