LOVED LOVED seeing the seed on the barrel - and I hope to god you finished picking those blooms off, you could have kept going to satisfy the other OCD viewers, lol, I enjoyed every pick!
Hi Laura Your videos seem to come out in the morning our time Perfect time to inspire me to get outside in the garden Yesterday , after watching you, I prepared a herb garden in a self watering planter for my daughter, I will bring it to her when we are allowed to visit again I used pieces from my established plants and a planter I had hanging around I am so thankful we have a garden, it helps keep me sane at this time Virtual hugs to you 🥰❤️🌹
I'm watching it again!!! I loved watching you take the blooms off...crushed you cut the video before you were done...it was so much fun watching you pluck them out!
Living in Missouri, I am unable to grow most of the species you highlight however, I enjoy your content immensely! Thank you so much for sharing your extensive experience and knowledge!
I know! I live in SE Texas... And I think I can get away with most because I drive around and see giant agave in people's yards... But I'm like, it just takes one winter to take out some of the more exotic plants we have around here... Because it's really sad when the tall palms get toasted.
Wow, great video. I love Chula Vista. My sister lives down there and I love visiting her on my motorcycle! Too darn hot in Rancho Cucamonga. I just planted about 100 Echinocactus Grusonii seeds, and they are sprouting like crazy!
Yikes! i have a small tri colour in a pot, i think i will keep it that way for a while, i didn't realise they throw off pups that far away from the mother plant. They can really take over if you don't keep an eye on them can't they! thank you again Laura for more of your gem tips! I am always interested in finding out about the cactus/succulents that may cause a headache by getting too prolific!
WOW thats amazing with all the seeds from the big golden Barrel, and well done on moving the Agave quadricolur pups, its amazing how they can chose the most unlikely of places haha :-D thanks so much for sharing Laura and have a fantastic day XXXX
How cool are those seeds! 😍 I will have let them mature in the plant for the golden yellow colors of the fruits ☺️. I've seen them and Echinocactus grusonii are very festive with their "fruits crown". It is studied that they do approx 90 fruits per year and a matured fruit has on average 492 seeds!😃
As much as you like cleaning up all those spent blooms, it makes me think that you might be a pimple popper. And yeah it looked inappropriate and hilarious! Love your humor...brilliant.
Always so much inspiration in your videos Laura 🤗 In fact you’ve inspired me to experiment with barrel cactus, which I never would have devised on my own. Question for you or anyone of your viewers with experience, is there a minimum distance you’d want to keep a barrel cactus from the sidewalk? I want to pepper a narrow planter running alongside my driveway with some baby barrels (about 7”) and I’m wondering if the space nearest the sidewalk is off limits because of how prickly these plants are. Any advice is much appreciated!
Love you Laura & Hanna, you did me proud, along with my OCD can't handle waste and could hear every baby crying out. Hell sound like a nut case hahaha.
Ooohhhh please feel free to show the barrel cactus all cleaned up! Does it get sun burned after you remove the seed heads? I will be honest, I haven’t been a huge fan of barrel cactus BECAUSE of the dried-crusty tops... I didn’t know you could clean them up and make them look like new!!
Don't pull the old flowers from Golden barrel, the birds will pull them out and eat the seed when hungry and will use the fluff to build nests. Let nature happen.
Me en cantan tus vídeos y me gustaría tener un jardín de cactus y suculentas . Pero el clima de Detroit Michigan es muy duro en invierno adoró los cactus tengo algunos dentro de casa y van muy bien . Un saludo enorme
But i just got IN from playing with my succulents where I found from a Fred Yves stem in my garden of death that has amazingly put out a stem pup. Do all agaves put out such long runners? Or just some like quadricolor?
Laura, please tell me what tool to use and how best to separate several barrel cactus which have grown together.I wish to remove them from my yard but its too big to lift and there are 5 large barrels all in one big bunch. Please I need your help.Should I use a saw or a shovel or an axe? Ideas please.Thank you so much
Apologies where ever are my manners. I mean to say please send me some of the barrel cactus seeds !! I'd love to try and grow them here in Toronto Canada. :)
I love finding pups from all my succulents. I feel like a proud mama! Thanks for showing us the cactus seeds. That’s a new one for me. 🥰

So cool!! I’m going to try growing some from seed, too!
Very educational, I would have thrown away those flower pods and missed all those seeds. Watching from Trinidad 🇹🇹

Oh my gosh Laura, please, put those spent blooms/seed sacs in the store! Or do a giveaway. Either way I'd love to try my hand at growing from seed! 😀😁
Great idea!!
How cute do you give them too the owners to dry and plant/or they can give it away.
wondering about those smaller pups you pulled out, the ones attached to the barrel, will those survive if you limb them up and place them in soil?
Love me some of those seeds! And you're tossing them away!! Wahhhh!!! 😉
Soooo manyyyyy seedssssss🤦♀️😊

Every 3 or 4 years I have to remind myself how annoying the thorns on my prickly pear are by handling the plant sans gloves. I never learn.
Leave the fruits for the wildlife
