I disassembled my shock this afternoon because it was leaking again. This is the third time that I would be sending it in to be rebuilt. I wanted to see what was inside it. Mine has an o-ring around the compression tube that is not shown in this video. Where does this go on the tube? It was about centered on the length of the tube. I am giving up on the coil over shocks and going back to coil springs and conventional shocks.
Really cool explanation, after watching this I have a more clear idea, in my case happened that the tube had some air and messed with the correct function of the shock. One question, should i use hydraulic fluid with more density? Now I'm using shell spirax s1.
When did Qa1 change from the closed cell foam pad to the gas bag? This morning, I tore down a pair of 50 series twin tube shocks that are over 20 years old that still have the foam.
Hello, I am writing to you from Santiago de Chile and I have some adjustable gaz shocks and the liquid is lost through the stopcock, could you guide me in opening the stem. for a repair as it makes it difficult for me to send them to the factory. Greetings.
hello good morning , I would like to tell me as soon as aseice I must throw a damper because when I close the checkpoint exploited it. waiting for a favorable response atte greetings
Hi Mauricio! It would be best to contact our support team and they would be able to help you out. You can reach them at 800-721-7761 or sales@qa1.net. Thanks!
No there is no measurement for a twin tube shock. You don't want any air pockets in there as it would create problems with the performance of the shock.
@J J Only if you want to reduce the posibility of getting a good squirt of oil shot into your eyes or have baby struts. The steel toe boots are good to wear at all times even when jogging a marathon in the rain.
Wonderful explanation brother.I just want to know what kind of oil is used and how to rectify a base valve problem

Can I use iso 46 grade instead of iso 32 for my twin tube front shock for my Toyota Etios 1.5 liter sedan which weighs almost one ton
great video....what type of oil we can use ?
It is likely qa1 premium shock oil used in the video.
Was this just a clean and oil replacement? Where was the rebuild part? New valve rings G disk? What part are used for the rebuild?
What is the gas bag and what is it for ?What if you dont put it ... ?Thanks !
The gas bag is there to accommodate for the displacement of the shaft as it enters and exits the shock body.
i have 63 series afco ,can i do service at my garage??

thumbs up,,,but you did not tell us what type of oil to use,,,is it transmission oil?
It is likely qa1 premium shock oil.
oil use full for twin tube sir?
Glad to know that type of absorber shouldn't be thrown away.
Why u wrapped the inner tube with plastic bag
?
It's a gas bag. You will need to replace the one you took out when reassembling the shock.
How you feel that bag, and at what pressure and which gas?
Is it (gas bag) use in mass production?

Iso 46 oil???
How shock oil
TECH TIP: Rebuilding a twin tube shock is a little different than rebuilding a monotube. Here’s a video with Marshall showing you how.
did you introduce compress air as you did on the mono tube?
Hello. The gas bag accommodates for the volume of the piston rod in a twin tube shock, so no compressed air is required. Thanks!
thanks for you explanation
Hi. What do you use for oil? Cst? Koni Yellow

I have Infiniti q45 1999 . I'm working in Bahrain .infiniti Shocks not available in Bahrain. Can you repaired this
Hello, sorry but we do not make shocks for Infinities.
Is there a measurement for the oil in the shock?? If is, what is the difference if we put more or less oil in the tube?? Tq
No there is no measurement for a twin tube shock. You don't want any air pockets in there as it would create problems with the performance of the shock.
QA1 thanks for the answer
if there is air in this shock then airation of oil will occur and that will lead to shock fade when the shock reaches higher tempratures.
That oil looks like Nuke from Robocop 2.
Good Job, congratulation, God Bless
