BALI is too small for the amount of Tourist coming. Bali is even more popular than places like Paris and this may means Indonesia will have to turn nearby islands into Tourist hubs. we are talking about millions every 4 month or so coming in. as someone who grew up in Bali this is a disaster Because the infrustructure are not designed for Large tourists. the only real options is to move tourist away from this island into other islands.
It's always unfortunate when "developments" later put a strain on local communities and the environment. People should try visiting other islands in Indonesia. Lombok is quite beautiful (in some places even better than Bali in my opinion) as a tourist destination too.
Maybe they should have a better irs in Bali, I seen many cash operations and I'm almost sure they don't pay taxes (same in Thailand). They don't realize that if the price goes up to visit them people won't, there are plenty of nicest places I could go in the u.s. if I want to get gouged out of my money.

This was on the wall fifty years ago. NGO's are helpfull, but you got to get the locals and their leaders on board.

It's a small price to pay, I don'tmpact tourism, and if it helps protect the envir think it will ionment, then it will help Bali in the long term.
Many cities in Indonesia are likely to submerge in water in a few years if I'm not mistaken.
rivers loaded with plastics?? they sure don't come from the tourists on the coast. talk to your local people and tell them to smarten up too.
