Hi Tor - what a great and educational video - thoroughly enjoyed this! I managed to get the mini and classic base and have been enjoying getting to know the brushes - and your tutorial has really helped me. I don't use huge amounts of foundation - just to even out skin and have intuitively been kinda stippling and dabbing with the classic rather than sweeping and agree that works the best. I have also used the classic to apply cream bronzer - Hourglass Sunset Palette and it worked really nicely for me. Again, I agree the mini base wasn't so easy to use as a contour brush (although lots of other SONIA G enthusiasts have been happily doing that) and worked really nice with cream blusher. I like your tip of then using the classic to buff and then reapplying blush as necessary - I will try layering - hadn't thought of doing that! I love how you speak of a brush's 'personality' and how you pointed out how similar it is to a beauty blender top and that it bends to curves it follows - such a great observation! LOVED that glossier berry blush colour you used as well as that L M one - lovely to see colours I hadn't known about before. And now I'm interested in the soft and jumbo concealer brushes after you showed how well they work. Sorry about long comment - I just love using, learning and talking about lovely brushes and really enjoy Sonia G brushes and hearing your techniques on how to use them. Thank you Tor :)

Hey Annie, love our conversations here! 😘 I’m am so happy you’ve found this helpful and insightful, that’s all I hope for that translates to people. Yes, dabbing and stippling works the best - I will try my hand again at using the Classic Base or the Mini Base for contouring just to see if I can get the effect that I want. That’s the great thing with new brushes, learning new things.
The brush heads do remind me of how the beauty blender looks like and I like that we both intuitively used the Fusion Brushes like we would use the sponge. *High Five*
Yeeeessss layering is the key! It is easier to build color than to apply it in one go. I learned that the hard way 🤣.
That Praline color from LM is a staple in my kit - it works with a lot of skin tones. It has a nice golden undertone to it that “wakes the skin up” in a very subtle way. My Best Friend (who lives in NYC) sent me that Glossier blush which I was grateful for because I can’t get those here. It’s a fairly new addition to their blush line and I was excited to try it - I enjoy berry tone blushes a lot. 😄
The great thing about synthetic brushes or hybrid brushes is that you can use them in any way you want - it can be quite a challenge sometimes but once it “clicks”, you won’t look back! 😁
I’m happy to read you are enjoying your makeup journey! 🤗

@@tortorre Me too - really love our TH-cam chats! How fortunate you have a friend who can send you make up not available in the Philippines - that's amazing. I'm finding as an ordinary make up user that I like the hybrid brushes for creams etc as the brushes kind of work in synergy and don't fight the surface e.g. face and are therefore more forgiving of being applied by a non-professional. I must tell you, I just ordered the Wayne Goss Airbrush as well as Yano Series 07 tapered brush from Beautylish. Can't wait to get them! I had wanted the Sonia G Face One - have been on the waitlist for months but keep missing out as notice is sent USA time seems to be 1.30am UK time when I am asleep! I worried that I'd never get it so when I saw the W G one was back in stock I thought I'd order it. Even if it doesn't end up working as a buffer for me I know I can use it for other things. It is my VERY FIRST squirrel hair brush! Do you think it is is OK to use brush cleaning spray - I have the Beauty Hygiene Plus Quick Dry Brush Cleaning spray in between washes? I know I mustn't over-wash squirrel hair but I have sensitive skin and don't want any bacteria build up to cause me skin break outs so I like to spray my brushes in between uses and washes. The Yano series 07 is very similar in shape to the Surratt smokey eye baton brushes but less than half the price. I'm looking forward to applying a 'wash of colour' to lash line for a subtle look :) Lovely chatting again Tor x

I feel you about time zone differences when launching new products - and like you, I prefer to be in bed at ungodly hours! Hahah i have not tried any of those brushes you mentioned - but I do have a number of squirrel brushes which I treasure.
I actually use alcohol based brush cleaners, even on natural hair brushes, mainly because of the nature of my job. I actually have two kinds, one if from Parian Spirit. It is for heavy duty cleaning. The other, that I use on my squirrel/silver fox makeup brushes, has green tea extracts and monolaurin (this has antiviral, antibacterial properties) - it’s the Instant, No-Rinse Brush Cleaner by VMV Hypoallergenics. I use these when I don’t have lots of time between jobs. If I do, I prefer to wash with soap and water.
Too much alcohol on squirrel brushes can change and affect their quality - as it can lead to brittleness or roughness of the fiber. So I suggest only use your when it is absolutely needed. 😉 if you only use your brush one color, you can just dust it off on a piece of tissue or microfiber towel to get rid of excess color. If you use it for multiple number of colors, try “dry cleaning”the brush head by dipping it in loose translucent powder and brush it off on a piece of tissue of microfiber towel. That way, the translucent powder can “suck out” the oils and the pigments on the brush head and you get rid of it when you buff it out. You can also do this in between applying two colors with one brush - it prevents the colors turning “muddy”.
      I hope you’ll enjoy your new brushes!🤗

@@tortorre What fantastic tips Tor - thanks so much! I will look up that brush cleaner to see if I can get it in the UK. Dry cleaning tip is really helpful as I intend using the air-brush for multiple colour. I was worried about muddy colours if using two colours etc in one make up sitting so that tip is super helpful.
Will let you know how I get on with the new brushes - they are due in a couple of days! x
