Monorail, rare open train ride - Blackpool Pleasure Beach, July 2005

A ride on the now defunct Monorail in July 2005. NOTE: Using cameras/phones etc. on roller coasters/thrill rides is dangerous and while sometimes permitted is generally prohibited, footage is shown here for historical purposes and not intended to inspire others to do the same. i suppose they needed the space for the new coaster and it wasn't possible for them to keep this? i wonder

I think they were the normal carriages with the roof frame taken off.

Me and my mate frequented the Pleasure Beach a LOT in the early 90's! We went on just about every ride going at the time! ... The Monorail is a thrill-a-minute! 🤣
Rides we went on: Grand National, Log Flume, Space Invader, Tidal Wave, Avalanche, Tokaydo Express, Monorail, Flying Machine, Wild Mouse, Monster, Noah's Ark, Fun House, Ghost Train, Revolution, Steeplechase, Dodgems, River Caves, Goldmine, Roller Coaster, and loads more I can't recall after 30+ years!
The Space Invader (Roller Coaster in the dark) broke down while we were on it, and Tokaydo Express set on fire 🔥 while we were on it! ... Happy days! 🤣

The track's got a lot of cables and wires these days running through it so that's why half the track's still standing
