    My Favorite outerwear has been *Bonfire* , Mt. Hood born and bred.... Extremely durable, designed for hard seasons at Mt. Hood... Stretchy 30k/15k outerwear without that rigid feeling of goretex. and built to last. Bonfire Bib's are legend.

    • @brennanvisser
      @brennanvisser 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to only rock bonfire, although I feel like they got left behind in the last 3 years. AK has some great pieces, as well as arcteryx (me supporting local being from Canada). I find the volcom gear to be on the heavier side.

    • @dootdoot1867
      @dootdoot1867 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brennanvisser depends on what you are looking for. Arcteryx new lines are sitting at $1100 CAD for their new jacket line like 700 for pants. With no tech reason for it. Nice designs but that is what you are paying for because the tech used is no diff from the other big brands. AK is burtons outerwear division.. but it's hard to get into burton outerwear after they killed forum and foursquare.
      Bonfires tech in their outerwear and the construction mixed with bang for buck makes them the all around winners. Specially for snowboarding. Imo.

    • @brennanvisser
      @brennanvisser 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dootdoot1867 I have no issue with getting into Burton since forum and four square. Multiple brands competing under one firm is company cannibalism. I admit they lost their touch for a while but I think they're back on track. My last AK jacket has been my favourite, ever, and my arcteryx jacket was 800CAD with a 3L goretex pro and it really is worth it if you're going to later or ski tour. All depends on where you ride. I will say bonfire was great for my region of boarding, however, they fell off the map in Canada.

  • @cratra

    In Japan you don't have to worry so much about water as it's so damn cold, normally around -10 and below on Hokkaido. However...., insulation is a pretty important consideration there. In Australia, you really need Goretex as it hovers around 0C in the Alpine areas so snow generally melts on you as well as facing the rain.
