Mate, in my country a hotel room thats like 75% of the presidential suite in the vid cost like $30, and the breakfast is amazing, amazing varieties for only $5.
MI G Agreed, the service was totally negative. Even the receptionist didn't seem to know, in the begining, what a suite was. He probably thought it was another standard room and that goes to show the level of training they have recieved, which is none.
There are many poor countries who know how to treat tourists. Being poor has nothing to do with good service. That is more cultural and training. And they will never get out of their situation if they don't learn some basic skills that can go a long way and make you money.
@@themightyflog Actually it has to do with being poor. That's why some countries are less or more poor in fact. The poorest a nation, the least trained people are. Indeed there are poor nations who have better trained people I'm service, but these nations are not as poor as this nation for example, and alot of them are actually becoming richer by the day and more educated ( examples, Thailand, Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana etc.)
MEGANOD ! At one point not to long ago...Japan and Korea were one of the poorest countries. They sent workers to Latin America and Brazil to work. In less than one generation they have become some of the richest. They also have the best service you’ll experience. Philippines, Thailand are also great examples you mentioned. This hotel should know better and hire the best as they are charging US prices. This also looks like the failure as a company to hire good workers.

This is one of the most poorest countries on the planet, not number 1 but it is close, so even the highest luxury will be disappointing if your not from there, more than 95 percent live in poverty there, that’s how much little they have to offer, so those guys need to be glad they have the best possible situation there.
there's a $160 room in bali that has the same exquisite point as a $1k room in the US, now that's exemplary, this "suite" has the quality of a developing country's hotel but the price of a metropolitan hotel, jezz like seriously edit : comparing $160 and $1k might be a little bit too much exaggeration lol, but im almost serious, the constant horde of australian foreigner in bali is proof that the hotels there is worth coming back for seconds, and the price is like it should be in a developing country
800 Dollars is literally 4 times Burundi's GDP per capita. So, giving an average Burundi citizen 800 dollars would be the equivalent of handing 296.000,00 USD to an average American.
In an 80$ hotel anywhere in Europe you wont wait few hours for your room to get ready, wont carry your own baggage, wont wait 1.5 hours for food. I may be in poorer european countries but my god am i glad im in Europe atleast.
@@Cr1ptlord Its not even a money issue, its a management issue. I work in a five star luxury resort and it kills me every time they didn’t meet expectations. Seriously, I was impressed of how little details could of made your stay better. For example the berries, but they didn’t even take the time to see your requests. People who stay where I work spend 25k a night, imagine if I mess up. They better have different selection of berries.
As a person who travels and stays at decent hotels, it killed me. At least a Motel 6 you can pay the junkie in the parking lot to give you a rub and tug. I didn't see a single woman in this hotel.
I know, right? I used to work in a 3 star and we would wipe the dust in the presidential if it had not been used for a week or so just to make sure it was always in a pristine condition. The freaking owner of the hotel would not even stay there to make sure it was available for any last minute reservations coming through.
I was slightly dying inside as well. My experience has been different, when I've traveled to relatively poor countries the service was always amazing, even in cheaper hotels. And if you booked something more expensive (150$/night for 2 people) you were about to enter heaven. Maybe it's poor training, maybe it's the manager just trying to squeeze out every dime or maybe all of the things we consider as normal in a hotel are extremely hard/expensive to get in the country.
Perfect example of how expensive =/= good; or how most expensive =/= the best. Apparently, there are better hotels nearby despite the poverty of the country, namely Le Panoramique by Celexon, Kiriri Garden Hotel, and Mount Zion Hotel all seem to be decent places according to reviews.

The facilities are in a way understandable because of the country's circumstances. The service however, unforgivable.

Agreed, the service was totally negative.
@@themightyflog
Actually it has to do with being poor.
Not really. Working at a hotel that charges $800 a night and if your lucky that's your entire years pay.
This also looks like the failure as a company to hire good workers.

edit : comparing $160 and $1k might be a little bit too much exaggeration lol, but im almost serious, the constant horde of australian foreigner in bali is proof that the hotels there is worth coming back for seconds, and the price is like it should be in a developing country
The whole HOTEL was overpriced. He paid for the stay, not jist the room
Zealand Scheetz True.
800 Dollars is literally 4 times Burundi's GDP per capita. So, giving an average Burundi citizen 800 dollars would be the equivalent of handing 296.000,00 USD to an average American.
Even for Europe this would have been massively overpriced
Presidental Suit in 4 star hotel in city center might costs 200€ in Poland. Or if you are lucky even less
In a 80$ hotel in Europe you'll have better food for sure
In an 80$ hotel anywhere in Europe you wont wait few hours for your room to get ready, wont carry your own baggage, wont wait 1.5 hours for food. I may be in poorer european countries but my god am i glad im in Europe atleast.
@@Cr1ptlord Its not even a money issue, its a management issue. If you go spend $800 in one night in any country, poor or not, you'd be treated like a king. $100 in Thailand would get you a room ten times better with service that's a hundred times better. I can't even imagine what $800 would get you. I think something shady is definitely going on here. Most likely a front for illegal activities.
@@Cr1ptlord for 80EUR no one will carry your bags even in poor Europe. Maybe if you ask. But in my hotel even for 35EUR you will get breakfast with atleast 100 fresh products and yes it might be advertisment
Do they even have barries in this poor country? I mean look at the breakfast
I was slightly dying inside as well. My experience has been different, when I've traveled to relatively poor countries the service was always amazing, even in cheaper hotels. And if you booked something more expensive (150$/night for 2 people) you were about to enter heaven.
Maybe it's poor training, maybe it's the manager just trying to squeeze out every dime or maybe all of the things we consider as normal in a hotel are extremely hard/expensive to get in the country.
what's the name of your hotel?
I’d bet money it took them 1 1/2 hours to get their pizza because someone had to run to the store and get it then heat it up! 😂
