I watched this video around 2 years ago and decided there and then that the Morgan Greer was not for me. I was born in 77 and found that the artwork reminded me heavily of my childhood... didn't have the best of childhoods. Similarly the Anna K Tarot was on my NO list... but nearly two years of shadow work later and I've fallen heavily for the Anna K 🥰 and just now I cannot get enough of the Morgan Greer! ❤️ It was here I saw it first (and again, your videos for the Anna K) ... thank you so much for sharing 🙏❤️
It’s perfect and so small! It’s my favorite tarot deck because I have hard time shuffling cards since it’s many of them are way too big! MG is just perfect! I also have the version in a tin!
I also have this but have only just started to use it... far better so far for readings than I thought. I think the "close up" aspect made me worry I wouldn't be able to read them easily esp as I'm still a newbie
The courts in the Robin Wood are some of my favorite courts ever. I love how she put so much symbolism in their clothing, and they have such personalities. I feel like they’re easy to understand.
I'm looking forward to exploring them more in detail as I work with all these decks this month. I will pay special attention to the courts! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
What a lovely presentation of the "grandmother's" of tarot. My 30 yo Robin Wood is my best friend and still looks brand new! Recently, I bot a copy of the companion book and had a revelation all over again. This deck belongs in every collection along with the Morgan Greer, because grannies dish out wise advise and the best cookies, all at the same time...
Grannie decks, omg I love that! What a wonderful way to look at them. I am so glad to finally have them all in my collection, they are treasures. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I was gifted the Aquarian in the 1980's, it was my first deck. My copy is well worn and has the same back, but without the white border. I don't use it a ton anymore.. but whenever I'm asking questions about things in my past, and how they are influencing the now, I pull it out and use the deck for any past positions. To be honest, in all these years, I never noticed the lack of sky vs pastel sky's. I feel like I have "known" these cards for so long, I've never tried to look for any deeper meanings then what I originally learned on these.
Do you have a newer one or an older version? I've heard the cardstock is different and I'm thinking of getting a vintage one just to see. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I've had the Aquarian Tarot on my list for so long. I really enjoy the art palette and art deco style. This is what I love about watching flip throughs...everyone is different and connects differently to decks! I have several friends that have the Morgan Greer and think that imagery is very pretty as well, love the bright colors!
You might look for the New Palladini Tarot, too -- same artist, David Palladini. Brighter color scheme, but a similar style, with the more tight-focus portrait-like scenes. The faces have more detail too.
I was given an Aquarian deck in the late 1980's by a friend. She knew me well. I fell in love with the Art Deco style & its artwork in general. Such a magical deck. It took over completely from Rider Waite Smith deck which i'd used till the. Later i bought Morgan Greer deck & it is my equal favourite deck
Great video! I've still got my OG versions of all these decks, still love them all, and still use them at least a few times per year. The Robin Wood was my go to deck for many, many years (I wore out my first deck) and I've been working with it even more recently because I'm reading Robin's companion book.
That is so wonderful! I've been working with them this month and really enjoying it. Hoping to start on the companion book next week and I'm really looking forward to it! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I still have the Hanson-Roberts deck and used it in the past. Mainly for readings for people who were nervous about getting tarot readings. The images are cutesy and not scary. A very useful deck for that purpose.
I always recommend the Hanson Roberts as a great starting deck for kids. Its size, the inner child feel to the images. I love mine, and it pairs beautifully with the fool's wisdom Oracle Cards.
Hi there Dawn. So glad that you have brought these old favourites into use. In the 80s many of the student's I taught loved them. One you might find interesting too and one I still have in a pocket size, is the Connolly deck. It has a slight religious feeling about it and so is less frightening to many people. Thanks so much for all your clips - there's always something new to learn.
Robin Wood was my first deck, and still my favorite. The images are old friends. I chose it in the late 90s because the Rider Waite just did not speak to me. RW was so much more colorful, pretty, and accessible.💜
The surprise element is the exact reason why i never rehome my decks because I discovered that if i force myself to spend time with a deck say i had a bad reaction at first sight, i kinda start liking their personality and quirks. Like getting to know a person. Also i realized i change from time to time and i fall in and out of love with my decks seasonally so yeah. But thats just my way and I know not everyone is polar like me lol
I totally fall in and out of love with my decks too (and there is definitely a seasonal component to it too for me.) I try to be really, really sure before I rehome a deck! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I really enjoyed that you researched these older decks and brought out their special qualities for us to look at and appreciate. I have had the Robin Wood Tarot since the early 90s and actually was never very fond of it. I was in a Jungian Tarot class and this was the deck that the instructor recommended. But as of late I have begun to appreciate it. I only have one other tarot deck and I am always searching for “the perfect deck” which I’m not sure exists. So your video has helped me appreciate the Robin Wood Tarot even more. And I liked the other 3 classic decks you focused on, particularly the Morgan Greer. Thanks so much Dawn Michelle!
I am so glad you enjoyed it! I'm not sure the perfect deck exists either, I have a few that come really close for me, but they took a long time to find. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I have only this year embraced the Morgan Greer - I was inspired by my mother in law who has the Morgan Greer herself, as she used to read playing cards and tarot, though she no longer does so. I have a vintage 1970s deck and it has to be one of my favourites 😊 Xx
That is fantastic! I've been keeping my eye out for a vintage one. I think having an actual vintage deck of each of these would be awesome. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I just started reading Tarot under 2 years ago and the Morgan Greer was the first deck I bonded with! I had started learning with the Universal Waite and things were going ok with that, but when I started reading with the Morgan Greer deck...that’s when I started to “get it”! Thank you for giving these old decks some love!
Wow! You brought out some old favourites. My first deck was the Aquarian. The cardstock is more like cardboard with no borders on the back. I think you can still find copies of that version on Ebay. My copy of the RW is so worn, that I bought a replacement copy. Unfortunately, the cardstock has change. I have three copies of the MG. Two regular (again, one is worn out) and a tinned version. It's old school, retro vibe is still modern and relevant today. I do have a special love for the 9P. To get a bit more information on the Aquarian and Morgan Greer decks, look into the Spiritual Tarot by Echols, Mueller and Thomsen. They provide some insightful nuggets regarding the images on both of those decks. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for the information, I will definitely check that out! I am working with all these decks this month and really enjoying getting to know them. I have been looking into vintage copies of several of them to compare the cardstock and feel. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Omg, your HQ video makes Morgan Greer look stunning :) it’s on my wish list but your review makes me want it at some point. I am taking a tarot course and bought RWS. When I could have purchased this, but it was more money, however when I can. This is going be one I need. Thank you! Thank you! I love the BOLD COLOURS ♥️
I am so glad you enjoyed it! The Morgan Greer has fast become one of my favorites. I love it's bold colors and up-close perspective on the figures. And it's a fantastic reader. I highly recommend it. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The Aquarian Tarot was my first deck. Then I had my cards read and I realized there were more attractive decks available. I first bought the Hanson Roberts deck and then the Robin Wood deck. It was like night and day to me. I haven't used the Aquarian deck since. It just didn't feel right for me. Love the other two and loved this video too. Well done!
The Connolly deck (mini version) was my first deck ever in HS in 1998. It’s still my go-to deck today, even with all the “noise” and new decks coming out. Nothing beats the oldies.
the robin wood tarot was my first and remains my favorite deck, my go to deck. i am intrigued and will explore the hanson roberts tarot. thanks for sharing these decks.
It's next up on my list because I've heard great things about it. I decided to cap it at 4 because that's about as many new decks as I can work with in a month. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I've had the Hanson Roberts deck for abot 30 years and the Robin Wood not much less than that. The Hanson Roberts is still one of my favourites and is the one I usually reach for in my daily readings. The art is so pretty (and clearly done with coloured pencil, which is my favourite medium to use in my own art). Another classic I have (actually the first one I ever bought) is the Sacred Rose. Very different imagery though still (mostly) RWS-based.
I ordered the Morgan Greer, Aquarian and the Borderless RWS because I purchased a book that studies them side by side - I got them all last month, can’t wait to get started on that!
@@DawnMichelleTarot Morgan-Greer was the first borderless deck, as far as I know. The Robin Wood was the first, or the first I've ever come across, that had a Pagan influence instead of the very Christian one of the RWS.
My first real tarot deck in 1983 was ijj swiss. The minor arcana was hard to learn. Around 1993 ish I took a class at a metaphysical store with Robin wood. My favorite deck is either the Morgan Greer or the witches tarot (discontinued). I have worn out like about 8 Morgan Greer decks when I read professionally in Vegas over a decade.
I love each one, but my favorite has to be the Morgan Greer deck. I love the illustration quality art, it reminds me of a children's book I used to have called Leo the Lop. I think it was part of a series that included another one called Serendipity with a little purple sea dragon. I loved those stories growing up, and this deck feels very nostalgic, the Hanson Roberts deck is a little like that artwork too, now that I think about it.
The Morgan Greer is my favorite too and it's still one I use on the regular. I have it both the full size and the tin now and the tin one stays with me a lot of the time. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot I'm adding them to my wishlist for holiday gifts, because they are just wonderful. Thank you for reviewing these decks, it helps a lot in figuring out which ones will work for me.
I absolutely LOVE the Morgan Greer. The colors are amazing. And I even love those mustaches. My dad and all my uncles had mustaches so I feel like it's just more helpful men in my life. And I also love the Robin Wood... BUT... The 9 of cups looks EXACTLY like my ex and it gives me the heebie jeebies haha
I have all of these from way back. I’ve always loved them. Robin Wood was my first spell/intentions deck for a long time. Also on the Aquarian deck, there are jewels and symbols at chakra points.
Been gone for a little while. I have all of these. All my favorites besides RWS. The Pamela Colman Smith RWS is my number one favorite. I'm searching for a second copy.
I have all 4 decks and use all 4 decks. I have a thing for classic decks that follows or somewhat follows the Waite-Smith tradition. I would also add the Cosmic Tarot, Connolly Tarot, and Sharman-Caselli Tarot to this list. Great video! 🤗🤗🤗
I have an old Hanson Roberts deck and full size book that I inherited when my sister passed away a few years ago. She taught me to read tarot with those. It's beautiful and has such awesome memories for me.
Thanks for this video! My Morgan Greer (tin size) has been in a drawer with a bunch of other decks I don't use often... and you made me remember what a nice deck it is! I've pulled it out and have been shuffling it all day! I've also been on the fence about the Aquarian tarot... but those blank faces always make me think twice. Glad to know they were not a problem for you.
How wonderful, so glad you rediscovered some great decks. I don't have the tin version yet, but it's on my list just to have on the go! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
my first deck was the Hanson Roberts. i remember struggling to decide on which one to buy because I was surprised at the choices. i have recently purchased the Morgan Greer because reviewers said they liked the expressions on the faces
Thank you for doing this video on decks that are considered to be classics! They are truly foundational and have stood the test of time for a reason. I think that in the Aquarian with some of the cards showing a white background rather than sky is depicted that way for a reason and that is "focal point stands out better against the blank white". Just a thought! These decks were all popular when I was growing up. I was born in 1954, but do remember most especially and aside from the standard Rider-Waite-Smith, the Morgan Greer with it's deeply saturated and bright colors, AND the Aquarian with the white faces and watercolor skies (in some cards; but not all of course). I think perhaps the artist might have wanted to be all-inclusive with this mind, but that's just my opinion. Out of all of these decks mentioned, I lean more towards the Morgan Greer and many of the images remind me of actual people I knew and loved as well as grew up with, so I'm a bit biased I would suppose. Again, I'm so happy to see your appreciation for these decks! Much love and peace always =) I appreciate all of my decks, both old and new!
I am so glad you enjoyed it and it was such a wonderful experience. The Aquarian is still in my collection and I enjoy using it from time to time. But the Morgan Greer has become a staple, I use it (in both the full size and tin) all the time. Thank you for watching. ❤️
If you already watched it once, and now you just want to look at the pictures, Aquarian Tarot, 6:06. Morgan-Greer, 12:50. Hanson-Roberts, 19:00. Robin Wood, 25:54.
@@DawnMichelleTarot thanks for posting this! I've had my eye on a couple of these decks. You've really helped me out. I have 2 (newish) decks on the way, but I'm building my collection.... 🙂❤
Learned about tarot because my dad owned the Hanson Roberts deck in the 90s. That deck will always have a special place in my heart. 🥰 The queen court cards were my favourite as a child. Such beautiful artwork!!
I learned on The Robin Wood. 😍 I picked up Tarot in 1996, and after my Radiant RWS went missing under “mysterious” circumstances, I purchased Robin Wood and really cut my teeth. Talk about drinking symbolism through a fire hose!! I still have my original in a special box I bought for it. I have the lwb and the longer book somewhere along with the original tuck box... goodness knows where!
That's fantastic, what a wonderful deck to learn on! I'm really enjoying working with it and learning new things with these beautiful decks. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Love any vids about vintage decks! Dawn Michelle, have you looked at the Connolly deck? It's an oldie but goody that belongs in this group too. Still in print and has several guidebooks that go with it as well. I ADORE the Morgan Greer and I used it for years before I got a Waite RWS or any other decks. I think the 9 of Pents from Morgan Greer is the prettiest depiction ever! And, hello, those manly men....yum. It's a favorite RWS clone. Also I love David Palladini's art and own the vintage Linweave deck featuring his art too. Palladini's World card and the Sun card have amongst my favorites. I love these decks! I'm a huge 60's/70's art fan as it's the era of my childhood. All the art from that period was so groovy....lol!
The Connolly deck is next up on my list for vintage decks to try. It almost got included in this video but I figured four new decks to work with this month was a good start. 🙂 But I will definitely be checking it out! Thank you for watching! ❤️
The Morgan Greer really spoke to me when I first saw it online, and it was actually the first deck I purchased last year (borderless, close-up, but mostly that amazing color palate!). I also loved the size and feel of them in my hands; fans out perfectly without being too big or slippery. I will probably purchase it again at some point, but I gave my copy to my brother who was just getting introduced to tarot, because of what read to me as a highly masculine energy from this deck. -That's not a bad thing, but this past year, I've been confronting some deep "feminine wounds" from only recently leaving a highly patriarchal religion, so I'm finding myself responding better to "Modern Witch" or even the original RWS...technically, there are the same number of male figures I think, but in the MG they are very "manly men." ;) I hope I can work with it in the future without feeling so angry, because I love the art. (A couple exceptions though where I really prefer the RWS are The Empress and the Queen of Pentacles.)
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with the MG, I agree it does that a bit of a masculine energy to it. It's a nice change for me because most of my decks lean more toward the feminine (which tends to be my preference due to my own growth work.) 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
YAY!!! I was so looking forward to this video and it didn't disappoint! :D I love hearing about these decks. I have a real fondness for the Robin Wood, and have really considered the Hanson Roberts, but I agree that the titles are very disruptive to the artwork, so not sure if I'll take the plunge on that one! The Aquarian IS lovely and has a similarly 'close up' feel to the Morgan Greer - just a very different art style for sure.
I am loving working with these decks this month, because of their depth and history it almost feels a little bit like ancestor work. So glad I finally took the plunge on all these! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thank you for this video. My first deck was the Universal Waite, and though I learned the basics with it, I never connected to Smith’s art. Since then I’d moved on and read intuitively with RWS-inspired decks, and felt the same as you, that I’d “missed out” on these clones. If I could go back, I’d learn with the Robin Wood. Not sure how much I’d get out of it now, but your video certainly has me consider adding it to my collection. It is beautiful.
Really loved what you had to say about the Morgan Greer in particular. None of these decks are in my collection, but it was such an interesting reflection. If you have more clone-y decks (like the Albano Waite, Universal Waite, Radiant Waite, Radiant Wise Spirit...) I'd love to hear you talking about (and maybe comparing) them too! (maybe too specific of a request, I get it lol). Thank you so much for all your hard work and relevant discussion 💖
I actually don't think I have a single true clone deck lol. The closest I have are decks based on the RWS structure, maybe I could do something with that! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
There’s a great video by Christine & Celeste where she dives into the symbolism and chakra/color connections she sees in the Aquarian Tarot. It really changed how I work with that deck and I love experiencing that extra layer of connection. I hope this is the right link, I need to watch it again to see... th-cam.com/video/WrkiqjKp1fA/w-d-xo.html
I do not know if someone have answered you question, abot the sky in the tarot Aquarium,in my perception it means how distant the connection can be between heaven and hearth for greedy reason. Thanks for your videos.
Perfect choices. I purchased The Robin Wood Tarot over 15 years ago just for the art and colors, before I even heard the word Tarot. I love the Morgan Greer and the Antiquarian (except for the blue backs). I am so bored with all the "new" Tarot decks all trying to outdo each other and the controversy going on today! Simple and vintage is perfecton, the difference between a Raphael and a Warhol.
Hey Dawn! Great video as usual and your on point explanation.. love it! Just a request- please make and show us matching tarot bag/pouch for these decks you shared with us Today. I am so used to seeing your decks along with your matchy cute tarot bags! Please ❤️❤️❤️
You can see all the bags I've made for my decks in my most recent deck collection series, but I will try to remember to show them in the future! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot Wonderful!! I specifically want to see your aquarian and Robin wood tarot bag ☺️☺️ Pleasure watching you and your collection as always! More power to you! ❤️❤️❤️
I have none of these decks 🙈I have been interested in the Aquarian, Morgan Greer, and Hanson Roberts, but I never got around to getting them, probably because I know they're not likely to go OOP anytime soon. Thanks for the reminder about these awesome classics!
I think that thought was kinda in the back of my mind too. They'll always be there. I have to say I've really enjoyed going retro this month with my decks, it's been so much fun to get to know them! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I trimmed my Hanson-Roberts and now it is so wee tiny! I plan to teach my daughter with it when she is a bit older. Aquarian has been on my wishlist for a while, but I'm saving up for a vintage print! Great video, as always!
Boho Tarot Thank YOU for all your deck mod videos. Your channel is the gold standard for tarot crafts. It has been such a wonderful journey turning decks I like into ones I absolutely love. 💚
The two decks that I 'd buy are the Morgan Greer & Robin Wood tarot..How ever ,with The Aquarian Tarot... the white background would be bothersome to me( I have light sensitive eyes ) To rid the cards of their shinyness...wipe them with a paper towel before working with them
Really enjoyed your take on these 4 decks. The Aquarian Tarot is on my list and has been calling to me a lot lately. Now I get why that is a bit more and will bump it further up to the top. I have the Morgan Greer and do like it but I ended up with the mini by mistake and don’t feel that size does the art justice. Again have been feeling the pull lately to bite the bullet and order the larger size so I can dive in with it. Seeing your full sized deck shocked me as so many cards I hardly even recognized! So another bump up the wish list for this one. The other other two decks I don’t own but have seen around. I’m drawn more to the Robin Wood after your review. Was struck by how it reminds me a bit of the Greenwood Tarot, one of my all time favorite decks. Wondering it was an influence on Mark Ryan and Cheseca given the similar titles? Your lighting is excellent and makes your videos a joy to watch. Great insights on all these classics. Thanks for sharing.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! I've really been enjoying working with these decks this month and I'll share more thoughts on them in my end of the month reflection. They are all fantastic readers! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I have had the Morgan Greerand Aquarian since early 90s they were a few of my first decks i had trimmed and I used flesh colored pencils on aquarian and I loved it but It was given away to my daughter. I had to buy greer. again because I had wore it out. I plan on buying the aquarian again and coloring the border brown or orange or what would you use? i don’t like the white faces so I will color them again since it turned out great when i did it last time. i may color the skies i have all these decks and love them all
I've 10 now......And use GAIA I use for healing and the " Beyound Lemuri. And Work your light & The Oracle of wisdom I'm watching you alot as I journal alot . You've been really inspiring me just now. I'm sure still about Tarot ...Even though it's good ...I've Radleigh Valentine's fairy tarot cards. Thanks for all you do Clair UK🌎🌟🦋🌺
A few comments on the decks: Morgan Greer now seems to have titles on the Majors and the Court Cards which I don't remember from before. The Hanson Roberts didn't have the extra languages printed on the bottom fortunately .- it was just the English title. Regarding the Aquarian deck, it always felt to me that when the white background was there, the person or situation was covered with a cloud of (their) thoughts or even a single focus. The World had just a small white archway but the rest of the background was coloured - rather like a balanced aura! The Wheel of Fortune had a square of white. The pinkish mauve background felt like the heaviness of emotions. Interesting that the High Priestess might have been the only one with an actual real background (balanced between material and physical?). Although the card backs are blue and in those days we never put the cards right way up, they symbolised all sorts of patterns to watch for when the cards were turned over. Indeed the patterns on some of the cards are quite attractive. The Robin Wood Tarot was one of the first decks that I remember that introduced nudity - and everyone was OK with that because it was presented so well.
That is so interesting, thank you so much for the additional information. I really appreciate it! I'm working to build a connection with these decks this month so that's very helpful. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I must be honest, the Aquarian tarot is not my style! But I love love Morgan Greer - that colour pallet I love! And Robin Wood also goes on and off my wishlist... and it's going back on again!
I honestly thought the same thing about the Aquarian, and then I read with it. Totally changed my tune on it and now I really love it! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
This was interesting. I do not have any of these decks though they are decks that I have looked at time and time again but never pulled the trigger on. Of the four I think I would only pick up the Greer and the Wood. Aquarian is not my aesthetic and I cannot get past the dark lines that make the Hanson cards look like cut out on top of pics.
The Aquarian deck wasn’t my favorite in fact I never worked with it for 20 years until it called out to me but I still did not like the white faces until I got my color pencils and colored some flesh on them and trimmed it,that I was able to work with and enjoy them.a lot. The Hanson Roberts was my first new tarot deck I bought in 98 and I used it to help get me out of religion that I was in. I’ve had the Morgan Greer for over 20 years and finally broke down and bought me a new deck because the colors had faded too much and I wasn’t using it much because it was so faded so the new deck made a big difference, although I kept my older deck because it has been with me so long.
I love that you keep the older decks too, that's so great. I don't read with my oldest decks anymore but I love to hang on to them. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I would love to modify the Robinwood deck but not sure! If I cut the major cards- I loose some of the ribbon and close to numbers! But I love a borderless deck :) Would you modify this deck or edge with a white border?
I’ve been doing a bit of a deck study on the Morgan Greer and I really like it. I usually HATE bright colors but for some reason the funkiness vibes. I despise the bright yellows that overrun the classic RWS (which I studied for a few weeks and then IMMEDIATELY eschewed) but it works for the Morgan Greer. I have a question, do you have sensory issues or arthritis? I just realized you always pull your sleeves Almost completely over one hand in your videos and I have sensory issues and do that, too (not when I do tarot because I have tiny hands and the exposed skin helps with grip better, rather than fabric) but I just noticed it. 💕
I don't usually go for super bright colors in my decks either but I really dig it in the Morgan Greer. Where my hands are concerned, I have terrible allergies and alot of times I get into things that cause hives. When I have breakouts I tend to try to keep my hands covered to mimize exposure to other possible irritants. Hope it's not too distracting! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I have Aquarian finally. I got the one in the tin and didn't like it. I ended up getting a vintage copy, so there wouldn't be borders on the back...also different cardstock in those earlier decks. Mine is a Spanish version...but I'm fluent enough that it makes no difference to me.
I really want to get a vintage copy as well, I've got my eye out for some of those. Not only for the different cardstock but for the energy too. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I don't work as much with modern decks, but I think the Lightseers and the Modern Witch are both highly recommend decks for beginner friendly RWS. Those would probably be the ones I would recommend. I hope that helps. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
It would be cool if you could share what you do with title/insert cards. I find they get on my nerves but don’t know how to honor them in a way that would satisfy me. I don’t want to throw them away or anything :/
Mine is what I would consider a satin finish, it's not true matte but it's definitely not glossy. I really like it. The cards are a bit stiff but that's probably because they are new. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I pulled out my Morgan-Greer to see how you got such a large version of it. Then I realized that my hands are probably twice the size of yours. 😂😂😂 Any recommendations on what color you would edge the Morgan-Greer?
Hehe I have really small hands, even normal size decks are sometimes hard for me to handle. 🙂 Not sure what color I'd edge it in, I've been trying to figure that out as I work with it. I'm thinking maybe either some bright colors to match the front or like a denim color to match the back. Nothing has really jumped out at me yet, sorry, I know that's not much help lol. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I know you didn't ask for outsider opinion -- but if you'd like my 2 cents, I think a burnt orange would not only look lovely contrasted against the cerulean blue, it would give that "modern, yet retro feel" alot more emphasis. I feel like that color palette resembles so much of the groovy 60s and 70s era.
I only have the Morgan Greer in a tin and I'm in love.
I think I want to get that one too, it's so cute!! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
It’s perfect and so small! It’s my favorite tarot deck because I have hard time shuffling cards since it’s many of them are way too big! MG is just perfect! I also have the version in a tin!
That's good to know, I need to get that one as well!
They really are superior. So many Courts tend to look the same, but these really seem like individuals.
Morgan Greer deck has a special place in my heart. First deck I ever bonded with
Morgan Greer is my BABY! It was my first Tarot andI will Love it forever and my favorite card stock. 👍
Do you have a newer one or an older version? I've heard the cardstock is different and I'm thinking of getting a vintage one just to see. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The Hanson-Roberts deck is a great deck as well.
I am really enjoying working with them both. They have been really wonderful readers for me! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I could see it being a fantastic deck for that! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I bought the Robin Wood deck back when it was new... Does that make me a classic? 😂
Hehe I feel that way any time I hear music from my teenage years on the "classic rock" station! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
OG Tarot!
My very first deck from way back ! I’m with you! 💕💕
I always recommend the Hanson Roberts as a great starting deck for kids. Its size, the inner child feel to the images.
I love mine, and it pairs beautifully with the fool's wisdom Oracle Cards.
It is a wonderful deck and I agree, very inner child feel. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thank you so much, I'll check that one out as well! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Robin Wood was my first deck, and still my favorite. The images are old friends. I chose it in the late 90s because the Rider Waite just did not speak to me. RW was so much more colorful, pretty, and accessible.💜
How lovely, I am sure enjoying reading with it. I got the full book too and that's been fantastic! Have you read that? 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The Morgan -Greer was the first deck I purchased back in 1978 when it was released. It is still a great deck.
That is awesome, I'd love to have an original 1978 copy! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
OMG! I was just looking for some rws decks and your video came out! Wonderful! Thank you so much 🥰
What great timing, I do hope you enjoy it!
I am really enjoying working with them this month, so glad I finally brought them into my collection! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thank you sharing this video. I too have the Robin Wood tarot and the Morgan Greer (tin version) tarot. These two decks are truly my favorite.
Morgan Greer is my personal fav...😍
It's quickly become one of my favs too!
How lovely, I'm so looking forward to diving deeper into that one and reading the expanded guidebook. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
How about the Connolly Tarot?
It's next up on my list because I've heard great things about it. I decided to cap it at 4 because that's about as many new decks as I can work with in a month. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot The Connolly is wonderful. Also consider "The Cosmic" tarot, surprising and beautiful.
I am mysteriously drawn to the Morgan Greer as well, there is just something really engaging when I see the imagery
It's a really eye-catching deck and I'm finding it to be a wonderful reader as well!
I've looked at the Sacred Rose a few times, that's also a beautiful deck. :)
I ordered the Morgan Greer, Aquarian and the Borderless RWS because I purchased a book that studies them side by side - I got them all last month, can’t wait to get started on that!
That sounds like so much fun! I hope you enjoy your studies. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I really love Morgan Greer Tarot Deck. Especially Vintage one♡ The color pallet is more smoother and beautiful to me.
Thank you for the video :)
I've been looking at vintage ones too, thinking about maybe getting one to see the difference. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Huh. These are all the decks I came up on. The very ones. Morgan-Greer was my first deck. I still have three of the four.
That's fantastic! I don't know how I missed out on them for so long, but I'm so glad to have them now! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
That is totally how I feel about the mustaches in the Morgan Greer! It has a great, almost paternal energy for me. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Morgan Greer was the second tarot I learned with after waite-smith and I resonated with it soooooo much better.
I definitely resonate with it better than the traditional RWS as well! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I have all of these from way back. I’ve always loved them. Robin Wood was my first spell/intentions deck for a long time. Also on the Aquarian deck, there are jewels and symbols at chakra points.
How interesting, I'll have to check that out on the Aquarian! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Great suggestions! Some of these have made their way into my favorites list. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
I have an old Hanson Roberts deck and full size book that I inherited when my sister passed away a few years ago. She taught me to read tarot with those. It's beautiful and has such awesome memories for me.
What a wonderful way to connect with your sister. ❤️ 🙂 Thank you for watching!
I can see that this deck would be ever more powerful. Blessings
Thank you for reading the current energies🌟
I am so glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
the indexing on the morgan-greer deck would be great for solitaire
I am really enjoying getting to know them this month. Wish it hadn't taken me so long to get them! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
If you already watched it once, and now you just want to look at the pictures,
Aquarian Tarot, 6:06.
Morgan-Greer, 12:50.
Hanson-Roberts, 19:00.
Robin Wood, 25:54.
Thank you adding the timestamps! I forget to do that for individual decks. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
That is so wonderful, what a beautiful way to connect with a deck. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot thank you for making such wonderful videos!!! 🥰
Absolutely, The Connolly Tarot.
My nickname for the Morgan Greer is the John Bonham deck because a few of the manly men resemble him
@@rivers3242 Oh yes! You're so right there! He was a gorgeous man. another one who died too young.
I have the Aquarian tarot, it's pretty good. I have the Morgan Greer but don't use it as much.
That would be top on my list to have learned with as well! I'm so glad I'm getting a chance to get to know them now. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Morgan Greer was my 1st. Bought it at a gaming store in 1980. Classics are good. I tend to relate to the more contemporary decks
That's awesome! I'm really enjoying getting to know them this month. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thank you. The Morgan Greer is a very in ya face deck! But I like it for that!
Same here! I love it's attitude.
Wonderful, thank you so much, I will check that out! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thanks you for this detailed video :), I never thought Robin Wood Tarot's art works are so amazing ^^.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I do not know if someone have answered you question, abot the sky in the tarot Aquarium,in my perception it means how distant the connection can be between heaven and hearth for greedy reason.
Thanks for your videos.
They hadn't, thank you so much for the perspective! :)
I love vintage and simple too! Sometimes it is a nice change of pace. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I specifically want to see your aquarian and Robin wood tarot bag ☺️☺️
Pleasure watching you and your collection as always!
Oh I bet they are so cute!! I'm saving up for some vintage copies of some of these decks as well. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Boho Tarot Thank YOU for all your deck mod videos. Your channel is the gold standard for tarot crafts. It has been such a wonderful journey turning decks I like into ones I absolutely love. 💚
Aw thank you so much, I am so happy to hear that!
The robin wood tarot is the second deck i ever bought all the way back in 1999. I've always loved the Hanson Roberts but never picked it up.
That's fantastic, I am so looking forward to getting to know it better this month! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The two decks that I 'd buy are the Morgan Greer & Robin Wood tarot..How ever ,with The Aquarian Tarot...
the white background would be bothersome to me( I have light sensitive eyes )
To rid the cards of their shinyness...wipe them with a paper towel before working with them
Great tip, I will try that. Thank you so much! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
The Aquarian deck was originally published by Morgan Press.
Good to know, thank you so much! 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
thank you for doing this !
I am so glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I have had the Morgan Greerand Aquarian since early 90s they were a few of my first decks i had trimmed and I used flesh colored pencils on aquarian and I loved it but It was given away to my daughter. I had to buy greer. again because I had wore it out. I plan on buying the aquarian again and coloring the border brown or orange or what would you use? i don’t like the white faces so I will color them again since it turned out great when i did it last time. i may color the skies i have all these decks and love them all
I haven’t edged any of mine yet, but yeah I think brown or maybe a burnt orange would go well. 😊
I've 10 now......And use GAIA I use for healing and the " Beyound Lemuri.
And Work your light & The Oracle of wisdom
I'm watching you alot as I journal alot . You've been really inspiring me just now.
I'm sure still about Tarot ...Even though it's good ...I've Radleigh Valentine's fairy tarot cards.

Greer and Wood are wonderful, I'm really enjoying working with them! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Madre mía... Vamos al turrón!!
But I love a borderless deck :)
Would you modify this deck or edge with a white border?
Honestly, I modded it and hated it lol. It just looked weird. I ended up getting rid of it cause I was so unhappy with the outcome. 🤣
@@DawnMichelleTarot yes I see what you mean! I bought a second copy because of how the mod look turned out.
I agree with you on Morgan Greer.. I have the pocket size one as well which is handy if you are traveling or want something in your bag.
@Crab would the pocket sized Morgan Greer deck be ok for someone who has small hands?
@@juliereminiec4937 yes I have small hands and its like playing card size
I think I need that one as well, it's so cute too!
@@DawnMichelleTarot Its worth it.. the tins are useful and keep the cards from getting torn or scratched
@@crab3696 thanks... I was wondering
Hi. I am new to tarot - still learning. I am looking for decks that have a modern take on RWS. Can you recommend any ? Thank you so much
I don't work as much with modern decks, but I think the Lightseers and the Modern Witch are both highly recommend decks for beginner friendly RWS. Those would probably be the ones I would recommend. I hope that helps. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot thank you so much
It would be cool if you could share what you do with title/insert cards. I find they get on my nerves but don’t know how to honor them in a way that would satisfy me. I don’t want to throw them away or anything :/
Sometimes I worked them into my craft projects or journaling but I'll see if can round up enough ideas for a video. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I was wondering about the Morgan Greer cardstock. Mine is quite glossy but yours seems mat.
Mine is what I would consider a satin finish, it's not true matte but it's definitely not glossy. I really like it. The cards are a bit stiff but that's probably because they are new. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot Thank you 💞
i only use my tarot cards for games lol
That is what they were originally created for so that's fantastic! :)
I pulled out my Morgan-Greer to see how you got such a large version of it. Then I realized that my hands are probably twice the size of yours. 😂😂😂
Any recommendations on what color you would edge the Morgan-Greer?
I love that idea of the burnt orange! Such a great color choice, I might have to try that. 🙂
ever played french tarot? jeu de tarot? tarock?
I haven't but that sounds like fun! :)
@@DawnMichelleTarot the trick taking game of tarot reminds me of spades lol, tarock is not really played in the USA
