@@zaanredelinghuys191 The problem why Greed island gets the hate because of two main reasons - the arc focuses more on intense training and defeating a medicore villain ( in terms of other godly villains)
Second- is The audience thought it was pretty much pointless as Ging's msg in the beginning told that there's no clue, he not here and just to enjoy the game. This made audience really frustrated, however it was a Ging's test to see if Gon would still be willing to play knowing there is not much to gain from it. However gon failed the second test (seeing Ging alone) so yeah Greed Island was very crucial and specially because of we get to see more of Gon's character and his messed up actions foreshadowing his nature for Chimera ant arc

Zepile was basically saying the ones who hesitated or just followed what others were doing showed they were clueless and inexperienced.
The relaxed ones or ones who took the initiative to get in line got what was going on right away. Means they were the most competent.
