This interviewer is fantastic. A lot of people who interview fashion designers are awful sycophants or ridiculously inarticulate, but this one asked very good, very deep, and very intelligent questions and developed her questions into a great conversation.

He opened up so much. How awesome. I didn't know he was adopted. When he said he used to dress up like a prince and pretend to be from different places because he doesn't know where he comes from..I was touched. Lots of great points made here.
yes, I like him too. He is charismatic, but I knew about his life already a while ago. He makes good interviews.
Impressive. Finally some dialog about the ugly side of high fashion ..racism, sexism, etc. As soon as you dismiss negativity, creativity flourishes. Love his work, and the interview was phenomenal. .
I can admit that I always don't love what he does for Balmain but I do think he has a wonderful vision and undoubtedly talented. I respect him and his work, its inspiriting to see someone of colour excelling in this industry.
He is awesome, not just a talented and gifted designer, but genuine and real.

I'm late but Lou is such an amazing interviewer. Chill yet professional at the same time; asks interesting questions, as well as the type of questions which keeps the convo going. Very natural...and Olivier is very endearing and humorous without even trying to be. Love him.

This young man is going to be an enduring figure in fashion for decades to come, and in fashion history as it will be chronicled and told in the future.
His confidence also speaks an awareness of his own creativity as well as its need for application to those who will purchase items from Balmain's line, whether haute couture or ready-to-wear.
Confidence devoid of visible arrogance is a trait of which the highest levels of fashion are in desperate need, and Olivier Rousteing embodies it well.

I used to take my pyjamas everywhere in case I thought my parents would abandon me! That part made me so sad! What a wonderful interview I believe in him and the brand wonderful!
Really enjoyed watching this. A great interviewer & Olivier is a very charming, interesting, and complex person. The questions were so thoughtful and very relaxed and conversational - it's hard to find interviews/journalism like this nowadays.

This guy is an absolute genius! I don't always like everything he designs for Balmain but, gotta give him props. Such a handsome guy and very down to earth. The interviewer is excellent.
he is the future of fashion and he understands how social media and the internet is the new democracy he also understands in what way fashion is heading. These old designers that only respect the elite and turn their noses up at 'normal people' their days of their brand being whats popping is done. We the consumer because of the internet are the ones in charge of everything now
this is the second onterview ive seen with her and she will be at the top soon. she is a cut above the rest

I have so much more respect for Olivier after this interview. His energy, honesty and determination are so admirable. I know fashion is is passion but I would love to see him or someone like him take the editor-in-chief role of a major magazine to bring new life to fashion journalism.

I loved the interview. It's was very interesting and was a deep dive into the artist and designer but I would say to Olivier don't put all of us older people under the bus some of us do get you and your art and enjoy and love it.

Fashionwise I like the way his mind works. I ',ve been sewing since I was 10. I love clothes bc my grandma loved clothes. She could really dress. And she taught me to love beautiful fabric.
I love how when he mentioned that Kanye was the second black fashion designer, she laughed even after having a long interview with him on the subject. It's so strange to still have to talk about race so late in the game, and that it still inspires nervous laughter even as those in the thick of it have to count meager accomplishments in the upper echelons as progress.

she says, you were just 25 when you started which is incredibly young, that makes it seem like hes been doing it for 20 years or something, but he is only 28 or 29 and still really young. Good On him though I think Balmain have the best fashion collection so far, beats some of the other High end Labels no offence.
