So maybe people have already told you about the main character's Baam/ Yoru deal in future videos, but since I don't see anything about it in this one I'll leave a comment about it: The source material, a webtoon, is Korean and the protagonist's name there is Baam, which means night (also chestnut), since the anime's original language is Japanese they translated it to Yoru (night in Japanese). So that's why you see Baam in the subtitles. I'm actually not a fan of adaptations translating proper names and I think they should have left it as Baam (it's more respectful to the source). BUT it's not my anime so they can do whatever they want... It's just my thought lol And about Baam's seemingly excessive clinging to Rachel, when you think about it you realise that's it actually not a crazy response given his circumstances... He lost his memory completely and the first person to find him and take care of him was Rachel. Everything he knows is what Rachel taught him. To Baam's eyes Rachel is basically kind of like his mom (he knows she's not of course, but she's basically fulfilled that role for all the years that he can actually remember of his life). So imagine if suddenly your only parent told you "So I'm leaving forever to climb this magical Tower and you can't come. Bye bitch, see you never." I know I would be shocked to my very core. Being abandoned by a parent is usually a HUGE trauma for people that have experienced it. So the fact that Baam is so calm and rational about it, and not freaking out and/ or breaking down left and right, is rather impressive (probably since Rachel had talked before about the Tower and wanting to go to the top to see the stars, so is not a full surprise to him, nonetheless still a big WTF?).
